History

Established in 2001.

Moroccan born chef Simon Elmaleh, started his career at the age of fourteen as chef helper with Club Med. two years later joined a five star liner as an assistant chef, and worked for them seventeen years.

In 1986 he opened the first moroccan restaurant and catering in japan, the restaurant, was successful for fifteen years, one of their most important customers was the Prince Mikasanomiya of the japanese royal family.

In 2001 we opened Simon’s Café in Encino California which received Great

Reviews by food critics Elmer Dills (abc7)and Larry Lipson (daily news)

Since January 2004 we opened in our current location and again great reviews by Thi Ngyuen (los angeles times) and many others.

Business Owner

Morroccan born chef Simon Elmaleh started his career at the age of fourteen as a chef helper with «Club Med.» Two years later, he joined a five star passenger liner as an assistant chef, and worked for them for 17 years.

In 1986, he opened the first Moroccan restaurant and catering in Japan. The restaurant was successful for fifteen years. One of their most important customers was the Prince of Mikasanomiya of the Japanese Royal Family.

In 2007, Simon’s Café in Encino opened and received great reviews by television acclaimed food critics Elmer Dills and Lary Lipson of the Daily News.

Simon’s Mediterranean and five star culinary background gives his restaurant the expertise of how to utilize the unique flavors of the Mediterranean culture with a 5 star flare.
