SOPNS is a year round nursery school attached to the Sherman Oaks Presbyterian Church located at 4445 Noble Street, Sherman Oaks, CA 91 403. It offers child care and basic instruction to children from the ages of 2 to 5 including a transitional Kindergarten program.

History

Established in 1969.

SOPNS in a very real sense is a home away from home for the very young. SOPNS in a very real sense is a home away from home for the very young. While historically we provided more of a preschool environment, we have evolved into more of a full time day care and education center. The demands on Pre-​K and T-​K to have the children ready for kindergarten have increased do to competition and SOPNS is proud have fully prepared our children for the demands of a modern competitive schooling environment. No longer can nursery schools be where kids go to just to play.

Historically preschools were places where nannies drop off kids and pick them up a few hours. Today we are considered a nursery school where a child may spend the majority of their waking hours and a large portion of their formative years. We improve God’s world by raising happy, successful children!

Denise has been providing a safe, loving, and enriching environment for the families at Sherman Oaks Presbyterian Nursery School for the last 15 years. Her decades of experience working with children, serving in the Church, and raising her own five children has gifted her with a valued set of skills that make her uniquely qualified to lead our school. Her strong faith and dedication to her students and families, shines through every aspect of her work. Denise is committed to providing each and every child the same love and care that she gave her own children. Through her leadership and close partnership with the church, the nursery school has thrived and become one of the most respected in the Valley.
