Raffi R Barsam, DMD

Dr, Raffi Barsam is the best Dentist I have ever had. Ive always had fear of dentists and a handful of bad experieces but ever since i discovered Dr Barsam My teeth look and feel amazing. Not only is he a great Dentist, he is also an amazing person. Always social, attentive and no matter how busy he is, he always had time to take care of me and my husband. I have send a few people to see him and they are equally happy with his services. Not to mention his amazing team, his receptionist are always smiling and attentive, his dental assistants are friendly and I always feel comfortable with them. Thank you for all that you do Dr, Barsam!!!

So… if you follow my ratings, I’ve had some bad luck with dentists throughout my life. However, I think Dr. Barsam is the one I’ll stick with for life now!
GREAT staff, beautiful facility, and he is SPECIAL… a keeper of a dentist!
Mind you, so far, I’ve only gone through the initial consultation, but he is kind, funny, knowledgeable, and gentle. I am going back this Thursday to do a thorough cleaning and will update again later…

I used to get my teeth cleaned here due to Unilocal ratings but stopped doing that because it’s really hard to get it scheduled and the frequency seems a bit too aggressive by the Dr,‘s recommendation. Dr. Barsam tries to be nice and friendly and makes small talk and the front desk staff seem friendly as well but this place somehow just feels off. Also the parking is meter parking and having to remember to feed the meter every 2 hours is a bit of a pain. I’ve since found a much better dental hygienist. Honestly the experience with this dental off isn’t bad at all but just not great.

The best in the business! Very honest and pain free! I have been going here for 3 years and not one complaint. Very friendly staff and Raffi is the best!

Dr. Barsam is a great dentist and one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. I’ve been to a lot of dentists over the years. Usually, I feel like the person either doesn’t know what they’re talking about or they’re ripping me off. You will never get that feeling in this office. He is extremely informative, is not pushy at all and has your best interests in mind.
I’ve been seeing him for about three years now and have visited his office about eight times for various reasons. He’s always friendly, attentive and somehow remembers everything about me; he must be a really good note-​taker. Whatever it is, it makes you feel like he cares about you. Most Doctor’s barely remember your existence, let alone your favorite sports team, your line of work and the age of your child.
I once had a minor issue with a crown and he brought me back right away, fixed the issue and didn’t charge me.
I have referred at least five people to his office and all of them have called me to thank me and tell me how wonderful he is. I decided to finally write a Unilocal review because this is how I found him in the first place. I thought it was about time that I continue to spread the good word.
Sometimes, the wait is a little longer than I’d like. But when you are waiting, you can always see Dr. Barsam hustling around the office. So, you know it’s just because he’s a popular guy with a busy practice and not for a lack of care of his patients.

I had my first general cleaning/​checkup today with Dr. Barsam and I can genuinely say it’s the first time I’ve ever had fun at my trip to the dentist. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted warmly by the receptionists. The office is so beautiful that I almost forgot I was there for a dentist appointment. The wait time wasn’t bad either. About 5 minutes after I filled out my forms, I was called in for my Xrays. After, I was seated for my cleaning. Dr. Barsam has the most gentle hand and will constantly ask you if you’re comfortable or if anything is bothering you. He happily answers any questions you might have and makes sure your experience with him is as relaxing and pleasant as can be. He truly cares about his patients. I can honestly say he is the best dentist ever! I even looked forward to booking my next appointment. Thank you for making my trip to the dentist enjoyable, Raffi!

Where to even begin.
I suppose at the beginning! A lovely place to do so.
I moved to LA about six months ago, and recently into my stay a crown of mine popped off and left a cavity exposed. Eek! So off to Unilocal I went to research (and unearth) my dentist for this new space — and I couldn’t be happier with my find!
During my crown replacement, I was treated absolutely pristinely. I parked at a meter out front, and foolishly underestimated my timing (this is not a knock against the time it took — I was just very silly to think such a procedure would only take an hour). So whilst in the chair, about to go through the procedure, I mentioned to an assistant my dilemma. «Could I run to my car to feed my meter first?» She told me not to worry about it, and asked which car was mine. I told her, and then started to move to my purse to give her quarters. «Don’t worry, we have quarters!» So lovely!
Then — as one who is not afeared or skiddish about dentists — I mentioned how I just like grabbing my hand on something whilst going through tricky times. So one of the receptionists — I think Theresa — boom! Gave me her hand to hold whilst I got crowned.
That was the beginning of my love affair.
I more-​recently had a night of intense tooth-​pain, and this office fit me in immediately the next day to check things outs. A dead tooth was discovered, and they pronto-​ly set me up for a root canal procedure with an endodontist nearby. When my check-​up afterwards came, I was expecting it to be the first of two meetings to get my filling and crown done. Instead, Dr. Raffi welcomed me back so kindly, told me he could help me out, and just gave me a filling — saving me not only an extra trip, but lots of uncovered insurance money. He really does what’s best for his patients!
It also goes to show how great his endodontist rec was, since they did such a job to warrant me with a filling as sufficient.
So, due to the savings, I decided to finally get fitted for a mouth guard and was instantly prepped for impressions. The «impressionist» and I joked around and talked about wine, and I’m just so in love with this entire staff. They’re just so nice, and are great company. And once again, as one who doesn’t have a dentist-​phobia — I’m still blown away by their service.
SO YES. Totally recommend! Hope I can remain living in this area just to stick close-​by for this.

Amazing office! Best I have ever been in. I have some difficult dental issues and I brought some unfinished work with me. Everyone in the office from check-​in to meeting Dr. B was stellar. I never felt uncomfortable about my dental needs. I think I finally found the nirvana of Dentist offices. Actually looking forward to going back, Yay!

Dr. Barsam has been my dentist for over 10 years. He has taken care of my whole family and I for over 10 years. Not only is he the most gentle and caring Dentist I’ve ever known, but the most thoughtful and comforting one. He listens and cares about his patient to release any anxiety and concerns you might have about your dental needs. He doesn’t want you to walk out of his office feeling down. His goal is to see you smiling from ear to ear knowing that you have the best teeth for years to come!
Yesterday, I went in for my first implant that I had been dreading. I had heard from friends who had gone to other dental offices that complained about the soreness and discomfort afterwards. Dr. Barsam as usual was ready for me and asked me what my favorite music artist was. Within seconds I was listening to him while he numbed me. When I was ready, he conducted my implant which took less than 15 minutes! And he did it with a smile on his face and with confidence! If you’re dentist is confident than you are! He checked on me twice yesterday evening and I waited and waited for the soreness or pain to begin but nothing! This morning I woke up and I still feel nothing! Hands down this was the easiest procedure I have ever been though! I can’t believe how painless it was. I am so blessed to have Dr. Barsam as my dentist and recommend him to anyone who needs someone who really cares about his patient and what he does! Hands down the best!!!

Dr Barsam is amazing!!! I feel so comfortable at his office because the staff is so nice. I usually visit a doctor and never go back, but I started and I’m addicted. He has such a light hand that I’m not scared to visit anymore. I don’t think advertisement is needed for his awesome work– word of mouth is enough to say he is awesome. Thank you doctor for taking fear away from visiting a dentist! You and your staff are fabulous!

I have soft rotten teeth and have had too many rotten dentists until I was sent to Raffi Barsam by an escrow officer. 5 stars is not enough to rate this amazing dentist. He knows his craft, he has a sense of humor and if he tells you it will take 45 minutes and will not hurt… you can bank on it. He is the best dentist ever!!! If you are afraid of dentists go to him, he even gives great shots and his staff is handpicked by him and they are all wonderful human beings that really care about your well being. He is a rockstar among dentists! He does his own root canal and once you have one done by him, you will lose your fear.

Best Dental office in the world. Great customer service and top notch care. I never felt as comfortable in a dental office than I do with Dr. B and his staff. Especially the Dental technician Sidney Bonilla. Great Job.

I had a terrible toothache and Dr. Barsams office was able to schedule an emergency visit! I went in and the front office staff was so nice and courteous! They let me use a charger because my phone was completely dead and they also gave me quarters for the parking! Dr. Barsam explained what was wrong and fixed the issue right then and there! My wisdom tooth removal was quick and somewhat painless! Thank you Dr. Barsam because I ‘ve always been so afraid of this procedure but you made it a pleasant experience considering the procedure! I would definitely come in from now on for my dental healthcare! Only drawback is that the parking is metered and I unfortunately received a ticket!

I followed Dr. Barsam from another office as I was so impressed with his care. He and his staff are very competent. I always feel very welcome when I enter the office. I have recommended him to anyone looking for a great dentist. I feel like they all really care about me as a patient and as a person.

Dr. Barsam and his team are top notch when it comes to dentistry and service. Before I became a patient of Dr. Barsam’s, I feared and dreaded my dentist appointments because of the pain and impersonal service. But, Dr. Barsam has actually made my dentist experiences so much more enjoyable and non intimidating because of his personal service and kind nature.
In addition to excellent care and service, his professional dental work has done wonders for my teeth and smile. I can now smile and show my teeth without embarrassment. I am still amazed at how straight and nice my teeth look!!!
If you are searching for a dentist that is precise, friendly, and actually cares about you, Dr. Barsam and his entire office are the ones for you.

Let me start by saying Dr. Barsam is really good. Nice guy who works hard. The business gets 3 stars b/​c the girls at the front desk (not even sure if they’re the same ones by now, but it doesn’t matter) are NOT. They’re rude, and snippy. You’d think they were the doctor instead of receptionist at an office. :/​
Getting into him for a cleaning is a nightmare. You will have to wait over one month to get in. Not good. Also he doesn’t do the cleanings anymore. So you won’t see him for your basic dental care, which is annoying.
I spent thousands on cosmetic dental work to update my smile. The outcome was great, but it was extremely painful, despite the gas and repeated numbing. To the point where it was almost traumatizing, and for a person who doesn’t care for dentist visits (like most people), that’s not a good thing.
After spending big money for an updated smile, I was having extreme sensitivity, for weeks. I couldn’t handle cold, hot, warm, cool, even just air hitting my teeth gave me pain and made me cringe. I called in and spoke with one of the girls, explaining what was going on and asking if Dr. Barsam could call me or relay a message about what I should do, if it were normal, how long it would last, etc. NEVER GOT A REPLY. I called back, left the same message to one of the girls, and still NO RESPONSE. My teeth were painful for over two months, until it finally went away. I thought that was pretty crappy follow up and it made me feel like they had my money, so who cares about my post care.
They also messed up on one of my appointments, calling my husband’s cell when he was out of town working to confirm (an appointment I had to make 30+ days ahead of time to get in mind you), my husband gave them my cell phone on 3 different occasions. They never called me. So I missed my appointment after waiting that long to even get one.
The girl who answered when I called in to see if my appointment was the next day, b/​c I felt like it was coming up soon and hadn’t heard from them, told me it was THAT day, an hour prior and that they called ME. She insisted they called me, despite me telling her they clearly did not. She never once mentioned they had called my husband. Shady. Her tone was condescending and short. It was one of those moments that make you feel like saying something super hollywood and ‘LA,’ like, ‘listen girl, you answer the phones at a dentist you probably don’t even have insurance to go to, chill with the attitude.’ Something completely ridiculous like that. I didn’t, obviously. But I did find a different dentist.

Oh boy, where do I even begin? Five stars are not enough to show how great Dr. Barsam and his team are! I have to be honest, I am the biggest whimp when it comes to pain and my teeth but Dr. Barsam has never made any procedure hurt at all, he’s always very thorough in explaining and just truly amazing! Not only that, but his staff is always checking in to make sure I feel ok and that I’m comfortable. Even the front desk ladies are so wonderful, beautiful and helpful. Whenever I’ve needed urgent visits, they always find a way to squeeze me in and make sure I’m taken care of. This is seriously the best dentist office. I’ll never go anywhere else! Thank you so much!

What can I say other than this office is superurb. I called today w a horrible toothache. The sweet front desk receptionist took mercy on me bc I was leaving for a trip on Monday. They fit me in and guess what nothing was really wrong w the tooth other than a fixed filling and needed a cleaning. (I have a facial neuralgia that was really the problem). Thank you thank you thank you. I finally found an honest dental team that I can feel good about and trust. Professional, friendly, quick. Love it.
last year I went to Dr. Cohens in SO on Woodman and that dude was totally unprofessional and tried getting over $ 900 bucks outta me for treatments I knew I didn’t need-​not to mention the veneers he wanted to sell me. At this office it was none of that vibe and I really appreciate that. I’ll be back here

I can’t believe I’m the 90^th person to review and rave about how amazing Dr. Barsam and his dental team are. I have brought over my mother, brother and 4 year old son for everything from implants to cleaning to crowns and he treated all of us like we are his family. My son’s first dental visit was with Dr. Barsam and I was as nervous as any mom would be — but with patience and anything a parent could ask for — my son’s first dental visit would be one of many positive experiences that is so important to instill into young children and having regular visits with the dentist. Dr. Barsam has a passion for people and the best way he knows how to help is through dental needs and being an overall genuine and wonderful dental provider. I would highly recommend Dr. Barsam and his team for any and all dental needs.
