Magnolia Apartments

I lived in this building for nearly 9 years… even moved from one unit in the building to another because I wanted to stay! The property is very well-​maintained, and the management attends to any issues with your unit very promptly. I never had a single problem reporting an issue or getting it resolved — the current manager Ellen was even our next door neighbor for 7 years, and she was as pleasant a neighbor as she was a building manager.
They have been upgrading so I’m sure the units now are even nicer than the one I left. The courtyard and pool area are nicely landscaped, and made for a nice spot to hang out. It’s right across the street from a large park, which gets busy on weekends, but is a nice area to have nearby. Close and convenient to grocery stores, lots of fantastic restaurants on Ventura Blvd, and in a very pleasant neighborhood.

Stayed here briefly. The pool area and grounds are nice, the apartments are spacious, paper thin walls and floors, cheap rent. Management is very poor. If you face the pool, no rules are enforced about noise, the manager is in denial about it. So much for peaceful enjoyment — other tenants find/​found the round the clock noise and drinking by the pool annoying and unsafe, too. The people out there wooping it up all the time are something else. Since the pool is in a courtyard, the noise is magnified as it bounces off of the stucco and concrete. Of course, if you live on a different side of the building, you might not have that problem.
Be careful on move out, as the manager deducts for items that were not discussed or noted on the move out inspection list. Took Moss to court and easily won. Normal wear and tear is not a legal deduction from a deposit.
The manager is very hands off, and seems rather dishonest/​incompetent.

I love this place. We’ve lived in LA for six years, and having been here on Magnolia for only four months, it’s the first place I’ve really felt at home. We love being across the street from a HUGE park with tennis, plenty of bocce ball grass, and lots of room to run and walk.
The pool area is lovely, and I so enjoy entertaining my friends that come over for a grill party. There is a huge laundry room open 24 – 7, so you don’t have to worry about waking anyone up to wash those jeans at midnight!
The community keeps to themselves for the most part, yet I’ve never had anyone NOT say «Good Morning» back to me. :-) I rarely hear a peep from my neighbors.
I love the spacious living room, the super convenient location to the 101 and the 405, the carpeted living room and bedrooms, and the wood-​like linoleum in the kitchen and bathrooms.
Another perk is Ellen, the manager. She is very friendly, super-​reliable, and a real comfort to have around. She sincerely cares about her residents without being invasive to your privacy. Any issue I’ve ever had (which has been minimal) has been addressed immediately and with the utmost professionalism. I hope Moss knows what an asset they have!

This apt is perfect because it’s right on the edge of a park and has a great view of the hills! The management is very warm & friendly and keeps things in great shape! I’m loving it here!

I lived in this building for almost 4 years and loved it. The community is hands down fantastic: friendly, supportive, respectful, amazing. Management is always as attentive as possible given that there are 90 something units, and the pool and landscaping are always kept in tip top shape. I would recommend this building to anyone.
