Great experience from the start! From the incredibly nice and helpful dispatcher (s) to the most wonderful visit from Serge! No question we’ll call Lerman Appliances again. Poor Serge came out twice — our leaky washer failed to leak at all when he was there the first time! Of course it leaked the next day. He came back a few days later; still no sign of a leak. He couldn’t have tried harder to help us solve this mystery … but please let him know that he DID! Turned out the dryer vent had come loose. He reattached it and the leak is gone!!! Just as he suggested :) We didn’t get a chance to say THANK YOU properly… so, thank you Serge!

Our Samsung dishwasher stopped working. It’s only a couple years old, so this was frustrating. Originally we called Samsung who recommended a company which we tried using but they were terrible. Basically told us they couldn’t fix it because it was hard to move it from where it was installed. Anyways, after searching angieslist and Unilocal,I found Lerman Appliances and I’m so glad I did. Elya came over and was incredibly nice and obviously new what he was doing. He diagnosed the problem after thoroughly examining the dishwasher. He ordered the parts and came back several days later to install them. It’s been about 2 months since the service and our dishwasher has been working perfectly. Couldn’t ask for more!

I had a worn igniter in my Frigidaire oven so I contacted Lerman to come and fix it.
I got an appointment the next day (a Saturday) and Sergey came and fixed the issue.
He seems a very knowledgeable professional.
I forgot to mention the Unilocal discount but I contacted them afterwards and offered to give it to me anyway.
Will recommend and use them again!

I woke up in the morning and realized my eggs weren’t cold and found that my whole fridge was warm. I spent a few hours trying to learn how to works and fix it. When I realized i was late to work, i threw in the white flag and called in the pros. It is a Viking fridge so I wanted someone experienced, but I was scared that because it is a Viking, it would cost an arm and a leg. I never had appliances break before, so I didn’t know who to call. I asked my friends for a referral, but no one could help me. I then searched the internet and found Lerman Appliances. I was impressed by their reputation online, and their reputation did not let me down. The tech came on time, and knew exactly what to do. Within 40 minutes my fridge was working and the price was reasonable, the tech even had the part in his truck.

I was able to get my dishwasher repaired, on the same day I called! Vitaly was prompt, courteous, and did fast work. The motor needed to be replaced, and it only took about 20 minutes for him to return and install it. I will not hesitate to use Lerman Appliances again, and highly recommend them.

This company is a lifesaver! After 5 weeks of a broken dishwasher that another company could not fix correctly for no apparent reason I called and Vitally at Lerman. Not only did he come out the same day that I called and diagnosed the problem instantly, but he located the part replacement and was back in 1 business day to repair my dishwasher.

Came exactly when promised to given an estimate for refrigerator and dishwasher repair. Mike showed me that all the dishwasher really needed was some minor adjustment, which he did at no charge. Ordered the necessary part for the fridge, and returned it when the company sent the wrong color. (The fridge, only 5 years old, is junk, too. I would never buy a KitchenAid product again.) Mike came exactly when promised to install the part when the right one finally arrived, and was quick and pleasant to deal with. Good service.

I recently called Lerman Appliances to repair a water pump on my wash machine.
I spoke with Vanessa to make an arrangement to send a tech out to me the following day. Ilya showed up the following day on time and diagnosed the problem as being water pump. The part had to be ordered it would take a few days. As soon as the pump arrived, Ilya made the repair to my wash machine. The price was exactly what he quoted which was reasonable. The whole ordeal was surprisingly quite pleasant. A big thanks to Vanessa and Ilya for their professionalism, courteousness, and wonderful customer service.

Great service. I had gone back and forth with a few flaky repair companies before finally contacting Lerman after finding them on Unilocal.They set a time for service and actually arrived early. Where the other companies had hardly looked at my freezer/​ice maker problem, the guy from Lerman was able to diagnose it quickly and efficiently. He even had the part on hand so that the repair could be done that day. I’m only sorry that I didn’t find them sooner since I had already wasted a service call fee on another (more expensive) company.

This company will cheat you out of your hard earned money. $ 189 for a job which took 45 minutes. Do not use them. Call around and find someone who will treat you like a valued customer and not a mark for some con job.

My six year old GE refrigerator freezer section was frosting up and the GE repairman wanted $ 600 to fix it. I tried a few things but finally ordered the parts from GE and called Lerman Appliances to install them for $ 150. Another place wanted only $ 100 but I felt with the good reviews here, I could trust Lerman Appliances more.
Then shortly after that the icemaker was not making ice so he came back and charged me another $ 200 to put in a part which did not fix it totally — works off and on. I have looked up so many things on the internet and it seems like it might be the temperature sensor as it is still leaving ice chunks and not making ice all the time. He told me to push the plug on the icemaker tightly when it doesn’t work but I can’t seem to do it as it is far in the back. I have been waiting two weeks to get him to stop by to push this plug together with no ice in the meantime. I threw away $ 200 and although he made numerous trips and is a very sweet man, it still does not work correctly.
Update ⁶⁄₂₀₁₅: Purchased a new ice maker, another thermistor, and something else and paid them to install it. It is working much better now. Still have some build up of ice but not nearly as bad as before. The new icemaker is working fine. I have spent a small fortune on this refrigerator so hope it keeps working as it is only 6 years old. Perhaps a better diagnosis in the beginning would have been helpful and less expensive. However, owner is a very sweet man.

Late to give a shout out to this family owned and run business– prompt, clean, accurate and nice ! You’ll be in good hands with these repair pros who will be honest about whether it’s worth it to fix or not — I’ve used them a number of times and never felt ripped off.

There is no other ratiing for me to leave this company except 5 stars. The plumber Vitalry is really awesome. The best plumber I’ve had the pleasure to work with.
Our dishwasher broke down leaving the f1 code flashing and unable to be used. The plumber came and was very thorough in trying to figure out what was wrong. Changing one part fixed the problem only temporarily so he happily came back and changed another part and then changed the lid of the dishwasher. This fix the problem for months but then the lid of the second dishwasher needed to be replaced. All of these additional visits were done at no cost to us. Vitalry genuinely cares about the quality of his work and that we have complete satisfaction. Extremely rare and we would never look anywhere else if we have any more problems with our appliances. At this final visit we were finally charged for the ordering of the part for the second dishwasher but no labor because we already paid that in the first visit which was months ago. I give this company in an A+ as he works so hard and truly wants the problem to go away. Thank you for honoring your promise, being completely professional and doing a fantastic job.

I’m finally getting around to my many home improvement projects needed, and dreaded getting a quote for my broken Sub-​zero freezer repair. Since it came with the house when I purchased it 11 years ago, I wasn’t sure how old it was or if it was worth fixing. I called Lerman Appliances after reading reviews and Vitaly, the owner, personally came out to give me a quote, after I expressed my concerns to his son, Val over the phone. It was definitely a burnt out freezer compressor, which is costly. The main fridge worked fine as it has a separate compressor. Vitaly helped me weigh the pros and cons of replacing parts vs getting new fridge altogether and I decided to go ahead with the repair, as the fridge is custom to the space and design. Lerman uses only genuine sub zero parts which are under warranty (I saw the unopened boxes).
Serge was the tech and he spent 3.5 hours on this job.
My sub zero is actually 24 yrs old, and Serge said theses older models were better made. He also educated me that most homeowners do not clean/​vacuum the coils on an annual basis (oops, I never did), and there’s always a build up of dust etc that can cause compressor burn out. He recommended a product called Sidewinder coil cleaner that can also be used.
After waiting the 48 hrs to see if ice maker worked– it didn’t, Serge was promptly back out again to adjust the temperature and everything is in working order. I am very satisfied with their service.

Ultimately I am content with the service I received from Lerman. We just moved to the area and in the moving process our 8 year old GE refrigerator (purchased used) stopped working. I called Lerman based on their Unilocal reviews and their Unilocal Deal and ultimately our refrigerator is fixed. I know fridges breaking is never a comfortable experience, but I also felt like it could have been a little better.
The Bad: Slow Accurate Diagnosis
The first technician who came out mis-​diagnosed the problem and said he needed a part he didn’t have. He was pretty sure it was the motherboard ($ 400) or the compressor (over $ 1000) He said he would come back that afternoon with the motherboard. I was discouraged and found myself hoping it was «just» the motherboard. I received a phone call a couple of hours later that he couldn’t come back today, but they would send someone else the next day. This might not sound like a big deal, but every day without a refrigerator sucks — you loose food and you pay for meals out. Plus it was discouraging thinking about how expensive it would be, based on his diagnosis
The Good:
Serge — Our the second technician who came out, Serge, was AWESOME! He knew what he was doing and gave me confidence when I was very discouraged. He also gave me tips for future refrigerator purchases, cleaning the fridge after it not running for some time, etc When I complimented him to the scheduling person at Lerman, they said he is their «refrigerator expert» and I see why!
Just a Tip:
The price they quoted me for the part I actually ended up needing (the inverter board) was around $ 500! That does not include labor. I called GE and they overnighted me the part for a total of $ 150. When I explained this to Serge, he was glad I got such a good deal. He said they only stock and use original parts, and they couldn’t offer a warranty on a parts purchased elsewhere, but they would be happy to install it. He returned to my house when the part arrived in the mail from GE and had the refrigerator up and running in less than 30 min.
Bottom line — I would use Lerman again IF I could have Serge as my technician!

I want to start off by saying that I went about looking for assistance through Unilocal,and saw how many good reviews this place had. So of course that’s who I called.

This place was amazing from start to finish. The initial phone call was to a real person who had a great relaxed attitude and it made scheduling the appointment so much easier. She quoted me a time between 2 and 5. By 3 o’clock Vitaly was knocking at the door. He was friendly and respectful, and showed us the problem in a patient manner. I like to learn, and was grateful not being a burden. Within a flash he diagnosed the 1^st of our two problems which only required us to defrost the freezer, and within a second flash he diagnosed and fixed the second a simple switch on the washer door. He quoted us a price, and even gave us a discount since it was my daughter’s 1^st birthday! WOW! Who does that anymore? I am eternally grateful for making this experience as amazing as it could have been, and will be using Lerman Appliances any time I have a problem. They were just flat out awesome!
