Kayd is great. He takes his profession seriously and he is a genuine and honest guy, with a great personality. I just took my used bmw k75 to him for a post purchase service and he did a great job. He knew the bike reasonably well from the start due to years of experience and had no issues performing all of the services i asked for in the time frame he promised. He kept me in the loop on everything and sent me pictures as needed along the way. He met me during hours that were convenient for me and put in a little extra effort after the service to help with a battery issue i was having. He will for sure be my mechanic moving forward. Thanks Kayd, you are awesome. People, please take your bikes to this guy, hes fair and he knows his stuff.

I wrote a negative review a couple of years ago due to my experience with his shop. He didn’t like the review and claimed I was trying to «rip off» the insurance company, when it was he that was attempting to grossly over-​inflate the estimate along with numerous obvious errors and it is I who had him correct both of those concerns. Then later he claimed that I was never a customer of his shop. Interesting given the fact I have a receipt proving otherwise. After my experience with him I came away with conclusion that he is not to be trusted. He is good at the game of gab/​talk! If anyone wants more details I’d be glad to furnish it to them but you are hereby warned… He talks a big game.
He basically extorted ~$ 900 from me and no substantial work done on the bike. Charged me for an insurance estimate that he greatly exaggerated. I told him I needed it to be changed and some charges taken out. I decided not to have him do the work (him being SO dishonest on writing up the estimate gave me a bad taste as to his integrity and honesty). It wasn’t a little exaggeration or inflation of the estimate but a gross one and so obvious). Also numerous errors throughout which I had to point out and have him correct. This ate up time that the bike was at his shop. He ended up charging me for two estimates AND storage fees (he has no room for proper storage and I found my bike outside and it happened to be raining when I stopped by to see what was going on.). There was no being reasonable with him, meaning he was far from reasonable. He figured he was «losing» a lucrative (due to his inflation tactics) job and since the insurance check (and I let the insurance company know that I wasn’t going to have him repair the bike and instead was going to sell it) was made out to him and myself so we both had to sign the check, he knew I was basically stuck paying whatever bogus charges he made up.
As another customer also found out regarding the charges and shady practices he received. That customer was also taken in by the smooth talking Kayd. He has friends help inflate his Unilocal rating I am sure. By reading some of them it sure seems obvious.

I was really hesitant on writing this review. I really like Kayd. But I have to be honest about my experience. First off, I want to say Kayd really knows bikes. If he’s not a pro rider, he is, without question, an expert. I, on the other hand, am not. Far from it. Which is why I was really relying from the reviews from previous customers. From all the 5 stars he received, I went to him. But my experience anything but 5 stars.
One of my big mistakes was not asking for a quote on an estimate ahead of time. I brought him my bike that had been sitting for a while thinking all I needed was a basic tank flush, a wash and battery jump. When Kayd examined it, he said there was over $ 1,000 worth of work to be done on it, which included a full carburetor and valve cleaning, spark plugs, new brakes on top of what was mentioned above. As much as I respected his opinion and more or less agreed with the amount of work needed on the bike, I was just not prepared nor interested in dropping that kind of money on the bike at the moment. I told him that I didn’t want the work done and was going to have it towed back to my house and see if I figure can something else out.
So he charged me $ 200 for the estimate. Not sure if that is the business standard but I thought it was kind of high. Especially after he didn’t start working on my bike for two weeks. But I didn’t argue. I was in no rush and I felt it fine having to pay that. So it was cool.
Now this bike is ’99 ninja with 39,000 miles on it. I didn’t think dropping $ 1,000 was going to be a good investment. At this point, I was more interested in dumping it for $ 600 — $ 800 on ebay or something. Kayd said he would take it off my hands for $ 500. Which I agreed to.
This is where things didn’t just seem right and my issues of developing business relations kind of went south. After thinking it over for a couple days, Kayd said, he was only able to give me $ 200 instead for the bike. To him, the $ 200 estimate was still a charge he was considering. So the original offer of $ 500, minus the $ 200 estimate and then $ 200 cash. I said, no deal. He upped it to $ 300. No deal. Simply for the fact that including the $ 200 estimate charge in your purchase price. I thought that was not cool. Asked a friend about that and they said, «yeah, not cool.»
Anyway, he put the bike back together and said I could ride it home because he put a new battery in it. No hard feelings, right? Of course. I thought him adding the battery was cool of him until I got a new bill. $ 200 for the estimate and an additional $ 90 for a FREE battery. FREE battery was actually listed on the invoice. I was a little perturbed by this so I said to myself, I’ll just buy the $ 50 for $ 75 deal he had on Unilocal.When I came in to redeem the coupon, he didn’t honor it. I, honestly, believed his excuse that the ⁵⁰⁄₇₅ deal was something he cancelled on Unilocal months ago. HOWEVER, as a business owner, I think he should have honored it in some way shape or form. Nope.
When the full bill was all paid up, I was ready to drive off. Only problem was that the bike didn’t idle because the carbs were so dirty. He said he sprayed some stuff in the tank and I sat there for 10 minutes trying to rev all the gunk out. Nothing. Had to ride with the choke up all the way home.
As cool as I really want and believe Kayd to be, everything about my experience was just not right. I told my wife’s SAAB mechanic about my bike incident and he «GAVE» me a bottle of carburetor cleaner to dump into my gas tank. H said, «see if this works. If not, then you need to get the carbs fully cleaned. I dumped in my tank and now it idles. Hmmm…
I don’t know. Like I said, I really want to like the guy. He really knows bikes. Is he someone who will do the absolute best job? Yes. And anybody with his knowledge should get paid his worth. Especially when it comes to the bike failing on you or not. And this is life or death. With that said, there should be some consideration that your best client is a repeat client. After my experience of feeling like I was being squeezed for every cent, I won’t be back. The whole experience just left a bad taste in my mouth.
You got $ 300 out of me but that’s all your getting. And this mediocre review. Sorry, Kayd but I wish you the best.

I first took my bike to Kayd 3 or 4 years ago. He does a great job. He obviously takes a personal stake in making sure he does everything right as if it were his own bike. I’ve had him do a lot of work on my bike and he’s always done a stand-​out job. He’s also very personable and loves to tell stories.
He does get busy, so it’s best to get on his schedule early, but he’s a great guy and does great work.

Cady did a good job on my bike, and I would go to him again.

Kayde has a sick background and is the only person I will ever trust with my bike. He kept everything fair and honest and had me updated every step of the way. I ride a DRZ400 supermoto and the minute I brought my bike down there Kayde knew it inside and out. My bike is still rolling strong and a thousand times better than when I bought it. He went the extra mile and it definitely shows. Only guy I’ll ever take my bike to.

2000 Triumph Thunderbird Sport. I’d taken it to every shop in town, including triumph dealers, and still had a crappy running motorcycle. Kayd assured me that they would sort it out, and he did. Bike runs better than ever. Turns out the inside of the tank was rusting and clogging up the carbs no matter how many times I cleaned them. Kayd’s shop will be my first stop next time. Good people.

A few years back, Kayd came recommended to me for a series of Vespa repairs and he really came through. Far cheaper than the other guys in Hollywood. A service and repair on an old Vespa can be costly. Since there’s only a few authorized shops they can charge whatever they want. But Kayd quoted then treated it like any other bike. And he tweaked a few things that made the ride tighter. He was fast, and always answered any questions.
He’s a real pro, dependable, and an all-​around solid guy.

I initially picked this place because it was close and had some good reviews. I was looking to get my EX-​250 tuned-​up for daily commutes to work. Part of the problem was that I didn’t have alternative transportation, so I asked Kayd, at Intense Motorsports, if he thought he could check out the bike and get it back to me in only a few days. He split the work up so that I could still use the bike while he waited on some additional parts to arrive. After all was said and done, the bike runs great and I’m happy to recommend his work to anyone looking for a reliable mechanic.
On top of his service, he kept me well informed of the process, throughout. Part delivery dates, progress on the bike, etc.

I own a 1999 Ducati 748 biposto. I called Kayd when my bike failed to start. I also wasn’t a 100% sure when the last major service was completed, so Kayd and I came up with a game plan with respect to fixing the problems that it currently had and performing the necessary service (which on a Ducati are Holy $h!+ expensive). He performed all of the repairs and services as previously agreed. On top of that he fine tuned and detailed the bike beyond what I expected. When I got it back it was a significantly improved machine. The turn in was more crisp, the power was way more snappy, and the whole bike in general felt way more balanced, and composed. It feels like it stretched out properly before a run. I am very happy with the services performed, the time in which it was completed, and the cost was what I expected (which is significantly less than going to the Dealer). I strongly recommend Kayd, the guy isn’t just a mechanic, he’s a rider. He knows what to look for and will have your bike running right.

Kayd took great care of me. Had the tires replaced and a 7,500 mile service on my ’09 Kawasaki Versys 650.
The bike sounds and rides better than it ever has for me. It’s incredible how it hugs the road now and no more popping as it decelerates.
At no charge, Kayd located and fixed an annoying vibration/​rattling sound that has been there since I’ve owned the bike.
Prompt, professional, friendly service from an owner/​operator that you just don’t get at a big dealership – and their shop rate is less too. Highly recommended.

I brought my bike in to have the LED running, brake and sequential turn lights mounted and hard wired. These guys are excellent, fast, and reasonable.
The job was finished by the time I finished my hot dog at the place next door.
The cost of the job was less than the original estimate. No complaints from me.
The lights look great and work great. I will definitely return to this place.

Brought my Ducati S4RS in with a tricky engine problem that took extra effort to diagnose. Not only did Kayd and Lando fix it, but the bike now runs noticeably better than when brand new! They were tenacious in getting to the source of the problem, identified it and fixed it all at the (reasonably) quoted price.
Safety is very important to me and I trust Intense Motorsports more than I would trust the local dealer. They are thorough and pay attention to all details. I very highly recommend them. I’d also add that IMHO their integrity is first class.

I have a 2009 Triumph Thruxton that needed some work done. Regular service and an issue with my front end. These guys nailed it. Customer service was top notch. Very responsive and everyone I dealt with was so easy to talk to. I’m not the most experience rider, but they didn’t make me feel like an idiot when I asked the most basic questions. This place is great and highly recommended.

This shop is awesome! Took my ZX-​6 there because I couldn’t tell what was wrong with it and it also needed a full tune up and now its fixed and running better than ever! Very good, honest service here! I couldn’t be happier with how my bike runs now.
