Green Leaf Trees

Very unprofessional. They called half an hour after the appointment to reschedule. Manager told me because it’s windy (which was not) but finally they said because they got other jobs and that’s the reason they postpone!!! when I said this is very unprofessional and I would like to cancel, they hang up on me!!!
I definitely do not recommend this unprofessional business.

Ruben came out the next day after we contacted them to give a free estimate of the needed work to be in compliance with the fire dept. He is quite informed about the requirements the LA fire dept has. He clearly explained the process, answered questions. The job was scheduled to be completed the next day. The crew were prompt, professional, and cleaned up our and one of the neighbors yard with no leftover debris. I highly recommend Outlook Zone/​GreenLeaf to everyone, and I will hire them on a regular basis to maintain my property.

If there’s one thing that comes first in customer service its respecting the area and neighbors. Apparently this company doesn’t believe in that, it’s time to better educate the staff about work ethics and manners!

We’ve always used Green Leaf Tree service for our HOA grounds. They always have the best price and they use real professional tree cutters. I was amazed how quickly and safely they took down 6 large trees on our grounds and then they grinded the stumps and cleaned up. Never disappointed when I use them, I highly recommend them.

Let me start from the beginning… I called the office number (818)788−1235 on 5÷4÷14 at 6:45am and surprisingly Katherine answered the phone with such a great morning attitude.(Very Polite & great attitude) I explain to her how I had to be at work by 12pm and I need the earliest appointment possible for the same day.
(Santa Clarita to Downtown L. A) I need a free quote on a tree that felt into my house and I needed that remove asap. She explain how the day looked busy in the morning but she understood that it was an emergency and needed this taken care of. Katherine send over an Estimator (Ruben Cisneros) who I thought gave me a good price $ 550 (hauling away debris included) I explain to Mr. Cisneros what I wanted to be done and also 2 Sycamore Tree in the back of my property that needed trimming. Ruben explain to me how the company works. The first guy that would come to my house would be the climber, when the climber finishes he will left the property allowing a Truck Driver to pick up all the debris. The estimator told me that I could give the truck driver a check or I can call the office and pay with Credit Card. Ruben also gave me his direct phone number in case of an emergency or questions I might have. After a 15min talk with Mr. Cisneros I decided to give them a chance and approve the job. As soon as I approved the job Ruben had two guys in my property within 15min and started working on my trees. The whole process of my job took around 2hours but let me tell you they did an Awesome Job! (By the way Freddy the climber is the best, he knows exactly what he is doing) For payment method I decided to call the office and pay with my Credit Card since Is more secure… I called the office and asked for the receptionist that helped me in the morning (Katherine) she when ahead and took a payment over the phone. She let me know that she would be sending me a Paid Invoice to my Email within 30min! I checked my Email within 10min and guess what!!! I had a Paid Invoice!!! I highly recommend the staff I mention above as for the rest I can’t say anything because I didn’t talked to them. Thanks Green Leaf!

We were looking for a tree service company we could trust to remove a large Pine Tree in our front yard that was in danger of falling. We also needed a good Arborist to diagnose and cure a diseased Juniper Tree in our backyard. I researched several companies online. I was also referred to Greenleaf Tree Service & Brush Clearing by a friend who had used them recently.
When I researched Greenleaf, I found several disturbing reviews on Unilocal and almost did not call them. I called my friend and he assured me that despite the negative reviews, I should check them out since he was extremely satisfied with their work and price. So I called them for a quote. The owner personally came out and gave me a quote.
We found Green Leaf to be the best price by far. So I took a chance despite the negative reviews and gave them the job. They showed up on time, over-​delivered and left our property spotless. David, their Arborist was able to diagnose the problem with our Juniper and save the tree.
I would definitely recommend them to anyone who needs tree removal and other tree services.

These folks give an estimate based on the size of your house and perceived wallet size not the size/​scope of the job. My neighbor has a smaller house and they charged me 40% more for almost the same job. Additionally, should you decide to use them, I would be sure to get «everything» in writing that they agree too while giving the estimate because they develop amnesia in the middle of the job and then have a very bad attitude when required to follow through. Personally, I do not like those kind of hassles and negativity. Usually the guy who comes out will say he will be there to manage the job, lol, but this is not the case.

My yard looks terrible and I feel like I’ve been had. I was first quoted $ 2300, then upon negotiating with my neighbor his end, the job became $ 2800. I never paid more than $ 1600. I was removing a couple large trees, anything dead and alot of jasmine, that was choking my hedges that I wanted cut to 7′, so I figured okay, it’s a large job, I suppose. I should have seen the slime factor (as mentioned below) right there and gone elsewhere, but I had used them before and thought I could trust them… Boy was I wrong! The estimator didn’t write out a detailed work order, and did not oversee the job. He dropped by mid-​day, but didn’t stay to make sure everything was done as asked. They didn’t remove a dead tree trunk, claiming it wasn’t in the estimate. The only cut one side of the yard to 7 feet, and were annoyed when I told them they had to also do the the other side and were only willing to do half of it. When I asked them to remove vines from the top of trees etc., they also seemed annoyed. Needless to say, they didn’t remove the jasmine, I had to. They didn’t remove all the dead branches in the hedges, I had to. They didn’t clean up all the mess left in-​between the trees and hedges; dead leaves, branches, my trampled broken plants, etc., I had to. (I filled four trash cans with this stuff) I was told they would only do these things if I gave them more money. Yeah right, I was already overpaying. All I got was excuses, when I complained. I emailed pictures to them and no response. I should have canceled the check.

Make sure you get your estimate in writing and be clear about what work is to be completed. There’s a slime-​factor here. In my opinion, I feel that they are dishonest. And, if you try to disagree or question something, the owner (Josef Shalev) will turn it around and try to blame you.
(I’d be harsher, but I don’t want any retaliation. Seriously.)

I had high hopes for Green Leaf.
Read the Unilocal reviews and was even personally referred to them before calling the company for a quote.
They sure seemed eager to get my business — but, haven’t been too responsive to resolve a couple issues.
I specifically asked if the person who issued the quote would be on-​site to oversee the job. I was told yes. But, it turns out — that person was not present during the tree-​trimming.
Needless to say… I am quite disappointed. I asked for them to trim 2 trees. Unfortunately — one of the trees received a severe cut. It is so scaled down — it’s like a skeleton. No more shade, no more privacy. All gone.
Then, the other tree they were supposed to trim — well, it doesn’t look like they touched it at all. Very odd.
Not to mention, they broke a solar light, trampled all over the other plants in my yard and left my hose in the mud.
I tried to resolve this for the last 4 weeks. Contacted their office via phone and email about a dozen times — finally, the owner made an appt. to meet me (11 a.m. on Saturday) then the morning of our meeting he called at 8 a.m. (thanks for the wake-​up call, man) to cancel.
Customer service is just as important as the actual service your company is providing. I wish businesses would understand that.

These guys are artists. They thinned out a 100 ft tall Italian Stone Pine that had probably never been pruned — large, majestic (overgrown) tree. Two guys up in the tree for a combined 12 hours or so, with another three or four on the ground clearing out the cuttings. I reminded them several times that it was my favorite tree. It’s even more beautiful now, and doesn’t pose a hazard in the windstorms we’ve been getting in the hills. They did a great job cleaning up the mess, and damage was kept to a minimum (we lost two small shrubs in the drop zone, but both adjacent neighbor properties sustained no damage, thankfully). Pricing was reasonable, given the job. I would highly recommend them.
