Had the shave truck many times and loved it. Dont know what the deal was but my experience in the store was horrible. Couldnt eat it and threw it away. The banana flavor tasted like coconut and the syrup was poorly distributed. At some points i was eating straight ice!

I love Get Shaved so many different options and they have wonderful combinations. The texture of the ice is so smooth it’s powdery I’ve never experienced anything in Los Angeles like this before only in Hawaii. Make sure you try one the combinations with condensed milk and there’s also some wonderful sour flavors if you’re into puckering up your lips.

My kids and I go there about every other week. My only complaint is the parking. The spots are hard to find and the spaces are quite small. I’ve waited 10 minutes one time waitiing for a space. If it wasn’t for the parking, we would probably go more frequently. As far as the shaved iced, my favorite is the Rootbeer Dream, although all the flavors taste great.

The customer service was great! This was my first time there and I loved it! The cashier suggested I add the Marshmallow ice cream to my shaved ice and it was such a great idea! I will definitely be coming back. Parking is included! There are so many options!

Yummy shaved ice. Definitely Rootbeer #2 with vanilla ice cream is the best! I felt bad for the guy though. Working alone very diligently. He should either get higher pay or he should have a helper. Every time it’s only one person? But why? It’s a Sunday evening. All the kids and families are out. Sad. Hang in there guy. Wish I brought more cash so I could have tipped him more than $ 3. Hang in there dude.

This was my first time coming to this location I usually go to the one across my campus in northridge. It was a bit busy when we got there but we had time pick what we wanted and order it. The cashier was very nice to me and my friend and even made a joke while processing out check. We waited for five minutes and it was the best combo. Jungle juice is just the best combo very tropical and sweet I’m totally coming back to this location since it’s close to home and seems a big hidden from most people. Hawaiian shaved ice lives on!

I love this place. The actual ice part of the shaved ice is finely«chopped». It literally melts in your mouth versus other places where the ice is rough and kinda chunky(for lack of a better word) I love the monkey brains. Strawberry + Banana + condensed milk. Yum Yum! They have a variety of flavors and combinations. Also the ice cream they have is pretty darn good! Have tried the vanilla and the toasted marshmallow — and YESITREALLYDOESTASTELIKEMARSHMALLOWS! Wish they would have a banana flavored ice cream though to go with the Monkey Brains. Prices aren’t so bad either for the amount you get. They have a loyalty program(which should be advertised a bit more) in which if you get 10 point you get a free shaved ice any size. From what I understand each shaved ice you buy counts as a point. The parking here can be a bit rough as the lot is small, but if you are willing to wait its definitely worth it. Going to be a big, big fan for sometime now!

Their shaved ice is good but their service sucks! Came here this past Saturday on 12⁄5 around 10pm and ordered the #2 Root Beer Dream(includes condensed milk) + vanilla ice cream. The guy took forever before he even made our shaved ice when there was no customers inside. After he finally shaved the ice after 20 minutes of waiting, he then told us there was no more condensed milk. why would you tell us that way after we have already ordered. –_– Like, what have you even been doing the past 20 minutes? The Root Beer Dream is definitely not the same without condensed milk. The addition of vanilla ice cream goes well with the root beer and had helped the taste of it but I’m still used to it being with condensed milk. Anyway, his attitude was just not that great, terrible customer service. He did not seem like he wanted to be there. When they were closing, he just stood at the door and said, «We’re closing» in the most unfriendliest way ever. Not sure if I want to come back to this location next time.

AMAZING! Been here about 3 times since we found out about this place. I’m 8 months pregnant now & was craving something sweet a few nights ago. Came here & got the cherry, pineapple & mango combo, WITH condensed milk. Hit the spot! The staff is also ALWAYS super friendly!

Came here a few times(thanks to Groupon) and it was well worth it. Especially if you don’t like being hot on sunny days. Their parking lot isn’t the best its pretty small and majority of the time is occupied either by Get Shaved customers or by other customer from stores in the same lot. As far as their sizes go they put a lot of ice so I usually stick to the UFO or the small. I would recommend getting either ice cream inside the ice or the condensed milk on top of the ice(or if you really like sweets like me, get both)

Not only is the shaved ice great here, but the guys are awesome too! I used to drive from Burbank to Northridge just for the«root beer dream», but now that I found that Sherman oaks has one, life is a lot more fun, lol. So today I popped in because my son fell asleep in the car and I didnt want to wake him, and I wanted him to have a little snooze. I called in to the store and the guys came out to my car to get the money and then to walk my shaved ice out to me. Lifesavers! Thanks, Uriel and Keane! You guys rock!

It’s okay. I’m not a big fan of shaved ice. People talk about how it’s shaved ice done right, yada yada yada, because of the way the block of ice is shaved(fluffier versus the typical chunky bits found at most other shaved ice places) but it’s the same thing. In the end, you still get ice with syrup poured over it. There’s nothing delicious about that. You really want shaved ice that you can gush about, then go to the 626 area where it’s created with blocks of different flavored frozen cream. It’s the taste of creamy ice cream and the soft, smooth texture of fluffed ice. Now THAT’S shaved ice done right. My husband and I have been there several times now. Really, the only thing we get when we’re in the area and want something fast and sweet is the shakes. One time we got their Nutella shake and it was pretty bad. The flavor had the mild taste of cheap Hershey’s chocolate; no hazelnut flavor to it at all. How they decided that flavor was Nutella was beyond me. Even the employee agreed that the Nutella ice cream was lame. The one saving grace is that the employees are always nice and polite.

Definitely as good as it gets! The shaved ice here is smooth and soft, and it goes really well with the ice cream that goes under all the shaved ice. Berrylicious seems to be a favorite among my friends, but my favorite combos are #6 Let Them Eat Cake and Monkey Brains. It’s not an ideal place to go with a group if you want a place to enjoy your shaved ice together. The table/seats are meant for two people.

It must be heaven. I’m writing two five-star reviews in the same day. This shave ice place is easy to drive by. Don’t. They have both shave ice and ice cream, and the shave ice comes in big portions. A medium will be plenty for you. I’ve tasted the Tiger Blood, and the coconut, and the peach. They’re all delicious. The ice is shaved as light and fluffy as fresh powder on the Rockin’ R at Brighton in Utah on a bluebird March morning after a storm, and the place is just plain fun. Try it.

2015 Unilocal100CHALLENGE — 034⁄100 Yumm, so glad Get Shaved opened a new location closer to me! :) I have been to their Northridge location a few times, but I am rarely out there so I don’t go frequently. This Sherman Oaks/Valley Village location is much closer to me, which is a huge plus! They also have a parking lot here! Very small and cramped, but at least it exists. I think Get Shaved is great because of the consistency of their shave ice. It is SO soft and fluffy. Brian’s Shave Ice is a close competitor and one of my all-time favorites, but Get Shaved definitely wins the award for fluffiest, lightest texture. It makes the shave ice taste oh-so creamy and delicious. Flawless! They have a really great selection of syrup flavors. I got taro(SOGOOD), blue hawaii, and li hing mui. I also got mine with vanilla ice cream(French vanilla), and condensed milk + li hing mui powder on top. Great flavors, especially the taro! Next time I am looking forward to getting mine with taro ice cream. They take card too, which is also a plus! I wish this place had stamp cards, because I would totally be down for that! Service was ok. The girl at the register was kind of clueless and had to keep asking the other girl working there about if they had certain items or even how to pronounce some of the more exotic flavors. Overall, I can’t wait to come back for my shaved ice fix! So yummy :) They should offer stamp cards as well for frequent customers!

My favorite dessert on a hot night. Let’s be real, we have had it on a cold night too! I love the lime, lilikoi and pineapple with a little condensed milk. Yum!!! Update/Hawaiian punch is great too!

I’m glad Get Shaved is popping up everywhere because it’s always a short drive to one whenever I’m craving something cold and sweet during those intolerable hot days in the valley. For all you valley people, you know what I“m talking about. I really like the Monkey Brains and the One Love. If it’s not for you, you can always customize your own and you’ll enjoy it. I recommend adding condensed milk to your order because it’ll make a huge difference in flavor. Parking lot is tiny. You’re better off parking across the street.
