I love this place!
I came in here with friends, my son and niece yesterday lunch time.
I thought they’re going to be busy but nope.
The price is affordable, 25 pitches for $ 3.75, not bad at all!

I really wanted to go to a batting cages but the ones in LA are pretty run down. I called ahead to get more info on how this place works and the girl that I talked to (Jackie) was super nice and informative. It’s 3.75 per token which get you 25 pitches. They also lend out helmets and bats for free as long as you give them your ID. It was soo fun but my hands hurt after a while, definitely bring some gloves!
This place also has a great arcade, new and classic games to choose from. My friend and I also did mini golf and there are three courses but you can only pick one.
All in all, I would definitely come back, it’s cool and fun. Just off the freeway too

Love the batting cages here and if you feel like the machine pitched too many balls they’ll give you a free round, don’t crowd the plate cause it’ll definitely test your reflexes on the 80mph, oh yeah and the staff is really cool
lol the robocop black dude who does security at night is a damn nuisance though, he takes his job way too seriously and need to pull the stick out of his butt

My friend took me here spontaneously because I’ve never gone to a batting cage before… and I am now completely addicted to it!

You can exchange your ID for a helmet and a baseball bat for free.
They have different batting cages, I believe the speeds ranged between 40 – 90. So each batting cage are set at a specific speed. There were also different cages for softball and baseball. I also noticed that you can adjust the height of the pitches on the machine where you input the token. You also have to take turns to use the cage, but I didn’t have to wait any more than one or two people in front, which was approximately about 3 – 4 minutes per person.
My friend and I came on a Saturday, and the parking lot was pretty filled, but there is a lot of parking on the street. Also, make sure to wear closed toe shoes!

Great place to take child to practice softball. Open space, economical, and restroom is accessible. Just wish they offered a way to become a member to receive discounts/​coupons besides the coupon book offered at 25 tokens for $ 60.

There are three separate business entries on Unilocal for Sherman Oaks Castle: Sherman Oaks Castle Park; Castle Batting Cages; Castle Café. Maybe combine them because a lot of people write on the wrong one.
They can provide bats, helmets, and batting gloves. One token gets you 25 pitches. Prices are decent. There are a ton a different pitching speed options, from Softball to Hard Pitch. I’m not a huge fan of the texture of the balls that are pitched, but overall the cages are legit. They haven’t upgraded the cages in about 3 decades, but there’s not a whole lot that needs improving.

After 50 pitches my arms, chest and upper back feel more toned and defined.

Most of the batting cages are baseball and they range in speed. The last two on the far right are high arc soft-​ball.
I usually do baseball at 40mph. But I just tried the soft ball and it didn’t make my body so sore afterwards and it gives you more time for your hands and eyes to coordinate. So it’s up to your preference.
You CANNOT where open toed shoes in the batting cages for your protection. Trust… these balls can end up any where.
This is a cheap bout of fun but it also goes oooh sooo quickly too.

I went here for miniature golf not the batting cages. I found the golf course to be pretty worn out and basic. Place needs quite a bit of work to bring it up to the standard it should be. Course is worn, lots of items need repair or replacement. But still a fun experience overall. I would still recommend going here, just dont expect anything amazing.
All staff I interacted with were friendly and helpful and parking was easy and convenient.

A friend and I came here one night randomly and this place didn’t disappoint. Staff was cool, and the place wasn’t too busy at all. They have all variations of speeds so you can do whichever you prefer.
Even better there is a huge parking lot and afterwards if your hungry they have a pizza spot inside the Castle Park that smelled great.
Price was pretty good as well… coming back soon.

One of the oldest continually operating cages in Los Angeles and with good reason. They keep it clean, well-​maintained and highly efficient. At $ 3.50 per 30 balls (approx 3 – 4 minutes), it’s a good value; two or three rounds and you’ll be gassed. The staff is attentive and nice, and they can loan bats & helmets to any prospective batters. The cage speeds range from 40 – 80 mph for baseball and beginner to advanced for softball. Clean facility with a ton of parking and nice location.

First time at the batting range. Was looking to do something fun and different and also to take out some stress. Not too crowded when we came. There were many cages available. Prices are reasonable here. Hit a round of balls (about 25) for $ 3. Took about a half hour to hit through a round. Definitely a great stress reliever after a long work week!

Feels good to come here after having a long day and to relieve stress through whacking balls. Lol. During the week, this place is calm and pretty slow. On weekends you may have to wait a while to get into a cage. Overall, this spot is great. Plenty of parking. Different cages with different speeds (including softball).

The best batting cages in the whole LA county. I’ve been to a few cages and nothing comes close to castle batting cages. They have a great owner and the staff is helpful and friendly.

This place is affordable and has enough cages to accommodate everyone. There’s hardly ever a bad line. I’ve gone twice on the weekends and we had our pick of the cages. Nice people. Efficient. Parking can be packed, but not miserable.
Definitely returning.

First time coming here and will probably visit again as many members of my softball league live in the area; I wasn’t overly impressed but these cages do the job. I didn’t have to wait too long to use the cages which was a plus and the employees were helpful and nice which was also a plus. The thing I didn’t like about these cages is that they force you to wear helmets which really annoys me because all I could think about was all the people that wore it before me and because it messed up my hair. I was in a slow pitch and high arch cage, I don’t see the need for the protection.

I love this place and come almost weekly. It is $ 3 for 25 pitches, but on Monday nights they have a special where it is $ 3 for $ 50 pitches, which is really good because it does all add up. They have numerous different cages, a few with different speeds of baseball and 2 for softball. There is only one cage for each type of pitch, but there is never a huge wait. People are nice and rotate between rounds. They supply a bat and helmet if you give an ID and will take credit card for $ 12 or more.
There is ample parking, plus a mini golf course and arcade room. I have never utilized these but they look fun. This is a good place to go with friends, a date, or just to practice.

If you’re looking to act like your 14 again… this is the place to do it!
Complete with arcade games, mini golf AND batting cages, this is a great place to spend an afternoon/​early evening staying active with some friends or show off your skills to your honey :-D The arcade was a lot of fun and had a good selection of games, from Skeeball and Air Hockey to motorcycle and classic arcade games. The batting cages were also a blast offering up softball and baseball from 40mph+
I did not get a chance to check out the mini golf but it seemed pretty popular so that is on the list for next time!

My boyfriend and I saw a Groupon for this and decided to try it out. Our deal was $ 29 for 20 rounds. We bought 2 Groupons, so we got 40 rounds for $ 58! We only used a combined total of 6 rounds so we have plenty more rounds left for future use. They expire a year after Groupon redemption.
It was the first time for both of us. We tried the low-​arc softball, the high-​arc softball and the 40 mph baseball. My fav was the low-​arc softball. We had a BLAST — but they do need a few more cages! We went on a Sunday evening, and it was pretty packed, so try to go at an off peak day/​time. There are lights on at night — major plus!
I deducted 1 star because the bathrooms were beyond filthy. I nearly died when I walked in there. My bf said the men’s bathroom was equally as bad. Needless to say, I held my pee the entire time. Use the bathroom before you go!

My partner and I love to come here on a weeknight to let off some steam. I’m sure if she’s angry at me she’ll pretend those baseballs are actually my little round head.
It’s 25 pitches for $ 3 now (you get one token for every 25 pitches). We usually do about three rounds each before our hands feel all numb. As others have mentioned, each cage has a different type of pitch starting from 80 MPH baseball to the lowest, which is the high-​arc softball pitch. We did the softball pitch at first, but have now moved on to the 40 MPH baseball pitch. It seems easier for some reason, maybe because I’m short.
Make sure you wear covered shoes and something comfortable. Sometimes I see girls wearing very uncomfortable outfits having not-​so-​much fun here. I believe they accept credit cards if the transaction is more than $ 12, but there should also be an ATM inside the arcade.
The parking lot here is pretty huge, so parking has never been an issue, even on a crowded night (since this place shares also an arcade and a mini golf course).
I can’t speak about the mini golf portion here as I’ve never done it, but people seem to look less happy hitting golf balls than baseballs. Just saying.

Not a lot has changed at the cages, I remember coming here for summer camp many times as a kid and loving it, the place just looks much smaller as an adult now.
Everyone should get in the cage and take some pitches, 30 balls for $ 3.00, helmet and bat provided. Whether for practice, or for fun, the cages is a sure stress reliever.
