Brothers Sheetmetal & Rain Gutters

They are too busy to do repairs: I sent them an email with a photo of the downspout I need to repair on 11÷19÷15 and didn’t get any response. I called to follow up today and they said they only do new installations now and don’t work on any repair work which I understand because it is bigger jobs and faster work to do new installations. I wish someone had responded to the email, but OK.
When I asked for help to find another business they would recommend they refused to give me any recommendations saying «look in the yellow pages».
Seems to me that this is a specialized industry and if they are unwilling to take on small jobs they should recommend another business that will.

I am an architect who used Brothers five years ago for custom steel gutters on my house renovation. Ralph was extremely responsive and the work they did highly professional.
Now, early Dec 2015, I have additional gutter work I need done on the house. Over the last three days I have left voice messages for Ralph three times, and sent an email through the Brothers website. No response whatsoever. I guess they are too busy to be bothered.

I called last week requesting someone to come look at our facility to repair/​replace rain gutters on 31 of our buildings. The secretary said she would have someone call me back but no one did. I called again today and now she tells me that they only do new installation. I just wished she would have told me that last week… ugh

I really can’t say enough about how great my experience was with Brothers Sheetmetal. When it comes to rain gutter install it seems that there are lots of options in town and I’ve gotten other quotes before I decided on Brothers.
Ralph who came out to do the estimate a day or two after I called was very organized, professional and responsive. I got a quote back right away and not only did he quote me a better price on the install and fabrication of gutters for my whole house, but they were able to schedule me in very quickly due to a cancellation. Usually there is a pretty deep backlog on installation.
The install took a day and was very smooth. The crew that came to do the job were very courteous and professional. They took the time to make sure the install was done right based on the conditions of my roof, seeing that there were a couple adjustments that needed to be made when they took my old gutters off. They took care of small details like a little section of the roof that wasn’t accounted for — a section of gutter was added. I requested that two downspouts to be a certain height so I can add rain barrels — done.
I chose the modern box style gutters and downspouts. They had a bunch of colors but I just chose white. They made all the seamless gutters on site and mitered all the corners custom for a really clean look. For me rain gutters were the very last thing on my list for my home reno, you never really think about it until it comes pouring down, which doesn’t happen often here anyway. That being said, this was some of the best money I’ve spent on this house because it was done right.
PS. Another star for the extra mile. The installers put in a short white gutter adapter so I could install a rain chain on one of the gutters in the front of my house eventually. About a month after the install I finally got the rain chain but with a copper gutter adapter. I just thought it would look better. Of course I neither had the tools nor the knowhow to put this on correctly so I asked Ralph if he could help me out if they were ever in the area again. Next thing I know I get an email with an install date and the very next week they installed it as part of the original job. Pretty awesome.

Ralph called to make amends… he did indeed get my name/​info mixed up… but that still doesn’t explain how he didn’t show up to our appointment.

Because they Angie’s List’s highest-​rated rain gutter installer in the Los Angeles area we decided to ask them to provide a bid for putting gutters on our home. The lowest bidder (by just a few dollars), they fabricated and installed gutters all around our single-​story house and provided 5 downspouts in well designed locations. The total cost of the job was $ 1,998.

I got two quotes for aluminum seamless rain gutters for my rental property in Granada Hills. I went with Brothers Sheetmetal & Rain Gutters because of their professionalism, personal touch, and attention to detail. From the start, Ralph demonstrated that his company knows their craft. A downspout at the front of the house would have been awkward and unsightly! The other company was going to install an ugly, visible water diverter on my roof to solve an issue with my bay window. Ralph solved that issue with a simple water shooter, a sensible solution that the other company’s rep didn’t even think about! It showed me that the other company’s rep was just hired off the street and didn’t know his craft! Ralph is easy-​going. He took the time to communicate with me via phone and text messages, and patiently answered all my questions. All my concerns were satisfactorily addressed. Since this is tax deductible, I had Ralph revise the quote for accuracy a couple of times. Ralph was courteous and worked with me every step of the way.
Jairo and Neri, the installers, were very prompt. Friendly and professional, they took the time to walk the job with me prior, and they courteously let me get on top of a ladder to inspect the work after. They suggested ways that made the installation functional, aesthetically pleasing, and safe! They also took the time to show me the materials and equipment they use before they began. Jairo has been with the company for over 16 years, his brother probably just as long. They love their work, and it shows! Their dedication and commitment to excellence are top-​notched! Awesome job! Professional, precise, proficient and expert and all done with a smile. I could not lavish more praise. We had a bit of a quirk with our roof because of outdoor light fixtures, however the installers knew exactly what to do. We had gotten other estimates, but other gutter specialists wanted to tamper with these light fixtures which would have created more problems for us. With Brothers, who themselves fabricate and install rain gutters for over 20 years, this was no problem. Price was the same as the competition, but with far greater expertise and know-​how in every way. THEY ARE THE BEST, HANDS DOWN!!!

I met with Ralph from Brothers Sheet Metal. He looked at our house, made a few notes and told me he would email a bid later that afternoon. No email came. I waited a few days assuming he was busy… still no email. I called the office and explained my situation and she said she would have him call me immediately. Ralph never called. I finally gave up. Very unprofessional and disappointing.

Great experience. Found Brothers Sheetmetal on Unilocal.Bid it out to 3 companies. Brothers and one other came in at the same price, but Brothers is licensed and insured (the other was not) and also offered me everything I wanted at the better price (flat face gutters). The most amazing part — because I knew what I wanted, I never even met with them. They left the bid for me, booked the job over phone, came and installed and billed me. And I didn’t have to take one minute off of work. Total professionals and a great experience. Would recommend to anyone and everyone and already a neighbor has admired and asked for their name.

I couldn’t ask for a better experience. I just remodeled a 2 story craftsman duplex and had gutters installed by BSM. Of all the trades on the job, Ralph and crew were painless to deal with. They install was quick, his crew was helpful trouble shooting ideas and coordinating with the other trades on the job site, and they kept the job site clean. The price was competitive and on target. I would definitely use them again.

Brothers Sheetmetal & Rain Gutters is a fantastic company. They came out for a free estimate, and beat out the competition by 500 –850 dollars. When it was time to uninstall the old gutters, and put on the new ones. They were on time and did a really great job, very professional company. Totally recommend this company.

We’d much rather give Ralph FIVE stars because the first half of our home he did an AMAZING job with. The gutters in this section look terrific! My husband and I decided to upgrade and ordered the 4″ steel profile, which fit perfectly on our mid-​city 1948 built home. They really look great and somewhat modern! My husband and I made the strategic error (UGH!!) of having only half the house’s gutters completed as the other half wasn’t often used for entry etc. We must add that this home was new to us, the gutters were installed at the end of an extensive remodel. INEVITABLY, through our first heavy season of rain, we found that the nature of the design/​geology of our new home, lead to moisture issues on the exterior rafters and basement area. SO, we called Ralph/​Bros Sheet Metal to have him return to continue the remainder of the 4″ steel gutters… HOW MANY TIMES did we call,??? Well, literally, through the course of at least a year, maybe over a dozen times (that’s how much we loved his gutters, they have such a handsome profile!). He NEVER returned to help us out. We do not know what went wrong (in communication maybe)!!! We are FLUMMOXED! And kinda hurt, and yes he is one of the best, but, for whatever reason, we have been met with a wall of GUTTER SILENCE! Sadly, we have given up, and maybe the newest gutters will not be a perfect match, but they are a close enough match to the existing 4″ steels, the new gutter guy is totally kind and pleasant, and will install soon, before the next big storm… alas, that’s our true gutter story.

Very good company to deal with. High quality work, friendly service, and competitive pricing. When having work done such as gutters, roofing, etc, it’s the little details that make a difference (fasteners, not nails; rounded downspouts; directional drainage; and mitered corners). I highly recommend Ralph and his workers and would use them again.

Installing gutters was the first «major» project on our recently purchased home so I was very cautious with the company I would choose to do the work. I set up the appointment with Ralph and he came by as scheduled. He set me at ease right away with his professionalism, knowledge and expertise. His suggestions were directly in line with what I had in mind. The gutters were installed as promised and they added an unexpected finishing touch to our homes appearance. I honestly only have good things to say about Brothers Sheet Metal.

I got three separate quotes to put gutters on my house. Ralph with Brothers was out here quickly to look at the job and provided a written estimate the next day as he promised. I had a specific ideas about the gutter profile I wanted, and Ralph resisted based on his experience, recognizing that a certain style had been on the house before and the stucco and gutter would make a better transition with the profile he was recommending. Being stubborn, he came back out with actual profiles so I could take a look for myself. Ralph’s crew did a great job installing today and I am so happy Ralph had the expertise and cared enough to provide his professional opinion rather than just tell me what I wanted to hear to get the job.
I highly recommend Brother’s and the only reason I did not give them 5 stars, is that we all have to get realistic on these reviews and making everything over the top awesome or completely horrible… Otherwise, they are 5-​star.

If you need to replace or repair your rain gutters — look no further. Brothers Sheet Metal is an incredible company to deal with on every level. The owner, Ralph, comes out and bids the job, which is a nice touch. Then price he gave me was exceptional for both my home and garage, far less then the other bids from companies I didn’t trust.
BSM’s attitude was right, his workers are friendly and reliable, they installed quality gutters at the right price that are guaranteed for 20 years. As a homeowner, this has been the best contractor experience I’ve had so far. I’m so used to people ripping me off and doing lousy work — but not this time. BSM is an honest company with excellent prices, a great staff that do great work. I wish every company was like BSM.

Ralph, the owner of the company, scheduled me for 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 9, 2010. He and his crew actually arrived at 7:50 a.m. Needless to say, I scheduled with them that early for a reason, and greatly appreciated their promptness. Ralph walked with me around my house, painstakingly taking note of every conceivable issue regarding the installation and very imaginatively resolving each in such a way as not to detract one bit from the aesthetics of my home. It became clear very early on that customer satisfaction and attention to detail are extremely important to him. His three-​man team was no different. The Brothers Sheetmetal crew worked very carefully to avoid damaging my landscaping. Each unbegrudgingly entertained my questions and acted on any requests I made of him. The team worked quickly but carefully, cleaned up every bit of debris, and left me with a superb set of gutters. I highly recommend this company – and already have to my best friend as well as to others. You will appreciate the conscientious way they work, their promptness, and the quality of their product.

Wow. I am so happy with the work Ralph and his crew did on my house. I’d been needing to get it done for a couple years now, but I didn’t know who to use.
