We had the same experience tonight as Aron. Worst meal I’ve had in years & service was awful. We literally waited 10−15″ to even get water & order drinks. I had the fish & chips & both were greasy & soft. Clearly the oil was too cool as everything was soggy & oily. Fish was too big of a chunk for frying & was undercooked. No salt & pepper on the table & the food was under seasoned. My husband’s clam chowder was good. Not great, but good. Our waiter never returned to check on us & I finally walked over to the corner where he & others were talking to ask for refill of water etc. Overall terrible & I’m going home to eat as my dinner was inedible! So disappointed.

I know this restaurant had a few hiccups when opening and I am so happy to see how the Owners turned it around. Amazing wait staff with beautiful and delicious food! Last night Chef Josh put out an incredible meal starting with the best mussels I have ever had… and Hake that was so buttery and flaky– My wife and I also love the meatballs(she would dine on them alone) and we get them every time– so that is a must try!

Great meal. My wife, daughter and I ate a very nice meal in The Pub. Food was great. My wife and and I both had the burger, my daughter had the flank steak. Really good. Glad we came here tonight and will come back. Staff was very nice, attentive and accommodating.

This place has delicious food. Bravo to the new owners. Shame on the nay sayers. The mixed green salad was fresh and had the most delicious dressing I’ve tasted in a long time. I ordered the roasted squash pizza planning to only have a few bites and I ate the entire pizza. Delicious. We were a party of four and we dined in the pub. All four of us loved our dishes. I will be back.

Great place for a drink in the lounge, casual meal in the tavern, or a special night out. Beautiful spaces for all occasions. Delicious seasonal New England food and perfect cocktails! Always a warm welcome and excellent service from the friendly and knowledgable staff. Love this place!

Went to the heritage last evening with my daughter after learning this place had reopened. It is unfair to compare this new place to the old sherborn so I will try to avoid this. The on line menu seemed interesting and thought why not. Walking in the feeling is of a room that has just been painted and you just haven’t put the art work back up. We looked at the«fine“dining room and it was placed right next to a rough wood communal table and a lounge seating a area. I guess the point is if you are waiting for your table in the«dining room» you can have a drink or a «nosh» here but the decorative styles clash so are a bit jarring.(Oh and a just an FYI the dining room and menu is not available at this point) When we sat in the pub(very busy) I noticed my daughter’s glass looked dirty and pointed it out to the fellow serving water. I was told that it wasn’t dirty just scratched I had to ask him to change it.(I then noted other tables that also had«scratched» glasses.) The menu is on a clip board with a wine list underneath and a second clipboard to identify beers and signature cocktails. I like to try house wines(which are supposed to nice reasonably priced wine) so I asked for the house cab I got a strange look. The wine came back it was served very warm and was a bit jarring(I wound up putting an ice cube in let it cool down a bit a and it opened and found it pleasant. Decided to have a second glass imagine my surprise when the house wine was over $ 13.00 a glass I dine in Manhattan frequently and this is more than I pay for a house wine and in New Jersey the two glasses cost the same as a reasonably priced bottle of wine. We ordered three items the signature meatball appetizer(named for their Brookline restaurant) fish and chips and a burger. The meatballs said with prosciutto and mushrooms but it was in some type of brown mushroom gravy with no sign of prosciutto and I’m still not sure what type of meat was used. My daughters fish and chips looked nice but when she tasted it she thought that it was undercooked. I tasted it and realized the fish must have been wet when it was battered so when it was fried it steamed the interior making it doughy my burger was supposed to be a cheese burger but it looked like the cheese was drizzled on top the burger was cooked to the medium rare I wanted but was very dry and the bottom bun was burned and could not be eaten. I asked for mayo to try and moisten the burger that I would now eat with a knife and fork it never came finally I asked another server and she came out with aioli and was told they do not have mayo(this should be a staple for any place that serves burgers) the fries that were served were limp and salty. I know I am not the target audience for this restaurant as I live in New Jersey but my daughter is local and I know that she will not be back. Which is a shame because she and her husband came to the old sherborn(sorry I had to make one reference) on a regular basis.

kudos to the grill cook… i had one of my top 5 burgers ever for lunch this past weekend — really well executed, flavorful beef, great bun, fresh toppings, wonderfully sharp cheddar cheese… BUT the accompanied fries unfortunately were oily and extremely salty. a very uneven dish — also, need to get bigger plates to serve on — not enough room. complaint to the day manager … too many staff standing around doing nothing leaving us sitting for 15 minutes waiting for our drinks to arrive, and there was only 4 tables with diners ! lots of chatting and walking around empty-handed … maybe an adjustment to the work schedules is warranted. we’re been here 3 times now, 2x for brunch and 1x for lunch and we’ll give it another shot for dinner to see if there’s improvement.

I don’t often write revies on Unilocal.I had such a great experience here that I was motivated to come here and write a review. I have been telling everyone that will listen to me what a local gem this place is! My wife and I first came and got appetizers and drinks at the bar in the pub. The atmosphere was great, and the service was top-notch. The appetizers we ordered were all delicious and the speciality drinks we tried were also very good. The bartender made a margarita with a special jalapeño infused tequilla. Yum! I was so impressed I asked for my wife to arrange for us to come back for my birthday celebration. This past Sunday we came back for brunch. 8 adults and 3 children. My kids ordered the pancakes and they were honestly some of the best pancakes I have had in my life. And I have eaten a lot of pancakes! Everyone LOVED their meal. I looked around the table after the brunch and ALL8 adults had a completely clean plate. That is rare. My family members were all talking about coming back soon. This restauraunt is a local GEM!

I had the pleasure of attending the wine pairings dinner at Heritage on Wednesday evening. This was my first time at Heritage and I loved the entire evening. The ambiance of the Inn was lovely, beautifully decorated with a comfortable, homey feeling. We sat in the Pub beforehand to have a glass of wine and sample the appetizers. The Pub was lively and the staff very friendly. The chicken salad was fabulous(and I am from Atlanta where chicken salad is king) meatballs were delicious and the corn salad had the most perfect flavor. The dinner took place in the room that will become the fine dining room and we sat at a community table with very nice guests. The wines were from the WinderLea Winery in Oregon and the owner, Donna was extremely knowledgable, friendly and truly in her element. The wines were wonderful and perfectly paired with the meal. Starting with cornmeal crusted chicken livers and delicious clams, followed by salmon and a lamb dish and ending with tasty desserts and my favorite biscotti that they also serve at La Morra. I love the décor of the Inn and would love to have that look in my own home. I am looking forward to returning again and again when I am in the area and even staying at the Inn and visiting the wine and provision shop for coffee and pastries.
