One bathroom(single toilet) for everyone, employees and patrons and Starbucks guests. And filthy. Two registers open for 15 people-utterly absurd.

I wish I could give this store 0 stars because they don’t even deserve 1. I have shopped here once a week for 9 years, and have continually put up with their terrible customer service. But that has all changed. I’m moving on. 9 years too late of course, but better late than never I guess. Their«customer service» couldn’t care less about their customers. They are so unwilling to help, even when what you are asking is completely valid. I will never shop here again and would highly recommend everyone else doing the same. They don’t deserve the money of such loyal customers.

Went in to get a few items. As I’m eating my bag of pomegranate craisins I notice they expired in December… It’s almost April… It’s not acceptable for a store like Safeway to be selling their customers expired product at full price. A store like dollar days I would expect to see expired product, but at Safeway! SMH

Wow!!! Had I thought America had changed until I stepped foot in this store today!!! The cashier named Roxie is obviously still back in the 50’s or 60’s with her bigotry!!! Her nose went so far up into the air that the inside of her nostrils were what I got to experience!!! I would have thought she was mute but she somehow could tell me my total for my purchase. She omitted hello, fu, or anything else someone would say. Safeway may want to retrain her on proper etiquette and customer service because she SUCKS!!! Luckily I only take care of my grandma part time so I can shop at Walmart or help the economy of Portland to purchase my supplies when up here!!! I know sometimes people who stand out go into stores and such but it is YOUR job to TREAT everyone the SAME!

I’ve been to lots of Safeway stores and this one at home is pretty nice! Lucky to have it here in Shelton!

Just my two cents, but I think Shelton is lucky to have this nice Safeway. Produce looks very good condition. Bakery has a nice selection Lots of options. Looks Clean and when you get your food from a place clean is one of the things you want! I will continue shopping here.

It’s hit or miss with this place. Sometimes you will get a clerk that will go the extra mile to look up your coverage and give you advice on which alternative is less expensive. But then there are other clerks employed here who are very impatient and will not even give you the phone number of your insurance plan so you can call and get the information yourself. I lost my card, and needed to know if a particular drug was covered, but the clerk said she could not check it unless my doctor prescribed it. I know that this is not the case because another clerk looked up the medication and told me which ones were covered. Like I said, its hit or miss. Most of the time, you get someone who is impatient.

2 stars JUST for being part of the grocery manufactures association which is strong on not labeling GMO’s. Fred Meyer is not part of the gma so I go there, plus the lines are shorter. This Safeway is pretty small the parking lot is difficult to maneuver around. Staff has always been on the ball and not so walmartish. Clean store. Would give 4 stars but you can thank the gma membership for that!

Great Small town Chain Store. Never had any issues here. Needs to re-evaluate Coupon policies, and they run out of «Specials», too often.

I am not a fan of the local Safeway. The parking is minimal and cramped. The aisles are narrow and cramped. The selection is minimal as well. Minimal is a trend at this location. I have NEVER had a problem with the staff. They are friendly and courteous. But the atmosphere does not make for a comfortable and pleasant experience.

Safeway: why the hell do you demand that your customers obtain a ‘club’ card to get sale prices on your goods? Stop it already. Just give me the sale price without demanding any goddamn card or phone number. I keep forgetting which fake phone number I used for the last dummy account I set up, and I’m tired of making new ones. This is one reason why Fred Meyer usually gets my business instead of you(Freddie’s has a rewards program too, but you don’t need to use it to get the sale prices– so I don’t). Looks like this location has recently been remodeled; it was clean and well stocked when I was there. Found what I needed easily enough and check out was quick too.

This is a bit off the beaten path if you are used to the Shelton shopping on Wallace Kneeland Road but worth it if you are in town on the day after Thanksgiving. I think the bulk of Shelton folks most often shop up on Wallace Kneeland Road as they have a Fred Meyer Marketplace(which is food, drug and some sundries little else) or at the large full service WalMart which is directly across the street from the Fred Meyer. So, on a day when we wanted to mail our Christmas cards and get a few items to take back where we were staying we selected the Safeway. What J. D. says in his review is true, we were obviously from out of town and they were all kinds of curious about us. In fact, they made sure to call me by name after looking at the receipt that printed out the name from the rewards card. I always use my dad’s card so well it sort of worked out. Nice store, small square footage but it has everything you need. I’ll definitely stop back again.

Best atmosphere in town, sub-par selection and decent prices. When I worked across the street, a small fountain drink, donut, freshly made bagels and in-house cream cheese was a quick cheap lunch staple. I prefer to shop at Fred Meyer, but Safeway is a close second.

I am staying at the Shelton Inn, which is one block away from this store. I wanted to grab some snacks and water for my stay. I was pleased to find this store located within walking distance of my motel. The store is about the size of the Whole Foods back home. They have all of the items you’d find in a grocery store and with decent prices too. The clerk at the checkout stand was very friendly and welcoming. It was hilarious because a lot of people were staring at me wondering who I was since I’m not from around here and the town is very small… the clerk asked where I was from and what I was doing in town… funny small town stuff. I like that. Will I return? Next time I’m in Shelton and need some goods… yep!
