Established in 2008.

S Salon by Salvatore opened in October of 2008. The owner is Salvatore (Sal) and he started out with two other stylists, Andrea and Amy, who are currently his Master Stylists. Sal now has 10 stylists working for him in his Shelton salon. He recently opened a second location in Monroe, CT.

Salvatore has been a thriving salon owner for over 7 years. He continues his education at TIGI, Redken, and L’Oreal Academies in New York City. He is also a Surface educator. His eye and creativity enable him to create a signature look for his clients, whether it be short and trendy or long and glamorous. With the knowledge and experience he has gained over the years, he is now the driving force behind S Salon by Salvatore. He is constantly working with his staff to make sure they stay current with trends, and always provide clients with the very best experience possible!

I had Patty do my hair. I’m not really great at small talk so, I think she understood that and didn’t try to force conversation. She was very concentrated on my hair and the outcome was great. She asked throughout my opinion on layers and bangs to make sure it was what I wanted

I booked an appointment here on a whim, based solely on the great reviews, after not cutting my hair in almost a year because it never turns out quite so amazing or how I really want it. I’m very glad I did, because this is the best salon I have found in the area. Taylor cut my hair and did an amazing job. I showed her how short I wanted to go and she was incredibly accurate, something that can be hard to find in a stylist. The salon is a little pricier than others in the area but it is without a doubt worth those few extra dollars.

ALEXA IS AMAZING! I am so glad she was able to fit me last minute before a wedding. Her attention to detail is great and it’s hard to find a hairstylist who can see your vision of what you want and make it happen. I can’t wait to come back to Alexa for my next appointment.

I’ve been going to S Salon for about a year and a half now and getting my hair cut by Taylor and each cut is tremendous. Taylor is very detail oriented and great at her job. She has an awesome personality and cuts my hair exactly how I ask. The entire staff is friendly and the hours are very convenient. Certainly recommend

Everything about my experience here was great! I was so happy that they were opened on Sundays because I was in a wedding that day and needed help with my hair.
I booked my appointment online (which was super easy) with Quinn to do an up do. He was so nice and I told him I didn’t have anything particular in mind. He was excited to try a new style and it came out great! I got so many compliments on it and felt very pretty :) Highly recommend him!

Taylor gave me a great haircut, i showed her a picture of what i wanted and she was really accurate, it was a great experience, will be back… i think she’s no longer a junior stylist, w shampoo, cut and dry, i spent 48 dollars! Will be back!

I selected this Salon based on the positive Unilocal reviews and went with Taylor, a lovely junior stylist. I needed a trim and color, and she did a phenomenal job. I have dirty blonde hair and she brightened it up just as I needed while keeping everything looking natural as if I had never gotten it colored (which is the point!). In addition, I asked her to trim just the split ends off my hair, and she did exactly that. We all know how terrible it is when they cut off more than you’d like… I called Tuesday and they were able to schedule me for Thursday evening at 6pm (prime time for us post-​work folks). I was also pleasantly surprised that if you are a first time customer, you get 20% off for 5 visits, which is quite a good promotional deal. The finishing touch on this experience was that they offer complementary water, coffee, or wine… that’s right, enjoy a nice glass of wine after work while you get your hair done. This is the only review I have even written on Unilocal before, but I wanted to write one because selecting a new hair salon is a scary endeavour, but I had a very positive experience here and I have Unilocal reviews to thank for trying out this salon in the first place. I highly recommend Taylor — she is a sweetheart who listens to the customer’s needs and is a pleasure to talk to!

When my usual hairdresser went MIA just as I was about to go an a business trip. I was desperate and I needed an appointment somewhere ASAP. My husband scoped Unilocal and found a place close by with good reviews and: gasp: open on Sundays! I got a ‘junior’ hairdresser which meant a lot less $$ than a senior hairdresser, but I doubt I could’ve done any better. I forgot her name already – I’m going back to her today, but she was absolutely great. Made suggestions to get to the color I really wanted, and actually listened to what I wanted versus my prior hairdresser kept swearing me away from the darker color that I’ve been trying to get.
The salon is comfortable and welcoming. There’s a ‘coloring lounge’ so you can chill and watch TV without having to sit out in the salon and make small talk.
I’m hoping my experience today is just as good as last time.

Hi have been going to S Salon for 3+ year and LOVE it! Kristen has been doing my hair. She is the best! She takes her time, never rushes you, and always makes sure it comes out the way you like it. The entire place is always clean and the staff treats you like gold. Alyssa at the front desk always hooks you up with a hot or cold yummy beverage. S Salon is full of positive energy and vibes. I recently moved from Shelton to Stamford and still make it there every 6 weeks. Well worth the drive. You wont be disappointed! :)

I used to work in Shelton where I discovered this Salon however I changed jobs to Stamford where it’s closer to home and tried to find a new stylist in the area but nothing compared to the work that my stylist Amy at the S Salon was capable of. I have never left there unhappy… worth every penny and the 40 minute commute for an appointment. I get both color and cuts by Amy and she is an amazing stylist! No sign of roots and no side skunk stripes which is very difficult to achieve since she has been the only one able to so far. I would absolutely recommend this salon and especially Amy if you go!

The front staff at S salon is very friendly. My hairstylist is awesome she really cares about her clients and always offers great advice. She expresses her passion for hairstyling by being very meticulous and creative. Not only is she a great hairstylist she also very professional and friendly. The salon as a whole also expresses how much they care about their clients by offering referral programs and excellent customer service.
