You’d never spot this deli from the road because it looks like a gas station and auto repair. But once inside it’s a spacious little deli and restaurant with counter service and booths to eat at. Obviously the locals know about it judging from the crowd. I passed here many times on the way to visit in the nursing home up the street and finally stopped in. The sandwiches are cut fresh from the deli case meat selection. I had the pastrami on toasted rye with Swiss and grilled onions — one of the best I’ve ever had. Liked it so much I came back the next day and had it again. Served with pickles and hot peppers, plenty to eat. My only slight issue is how long it takes to get your food, but good things are worth waiting for, right? Will return and heartily recommend.

OK. Here’s a little sandwich shop/grocery on a busy road in Shelton. I’m not sure whey I tried it out but I got a solid sandwich, a great smile and was able to grab a few other things I needed before heading out on the water. I’m calling this one a diamond in the rough. It’s surprisingly decent.
