M Spa & Skin Care Shelton

My fiancé and I got a supreme spa package for two to celebrate his 24^th birthday. We were a little nervous based on some of the negative reviews. Clearly those who wrote negative reviews had a very different experience than us. We loved it! We got there ten minutes early and were warmly greeted. The spa itself is beautiful and has a relaxing and modern feel. It smells amazing when you walk in. We were taken to separate men and women’s locker rooms and sat in the lounge in robes and slippers before we were taken to our treatments. My facial from Maggie was wonderful and it left my skin feeling healthy and glowing. My massage from Carol was one of the best I have had. I used to work at a ME spa so I’ve had quite a few massages. Carol’s pressure was perfect and she focused on my back and shoulders, just like I asked. In between our massages and facials we were treated to wine. Overall we had a great time at M Spa and were treated well by all the staff. We do live about 45 minutes away and a spa day is a real treat for us, as we are college students, but if we ever want another spa day we will definitely return to M Spa.

I got a groupon for a wax here and I actually purchased the package of 3. My first one was okay but not all areas included in the wax were done. I wrote it off and went for a second appointment, coming home I realized that they BURNED me. Literally scales on my skin it was burnt so bad. They also «double dip» which is so unsanitary.

Do not go here. My friend and I booked an appointment through groupon and when we arrived, they told us they forgot to book our appointment and they would not do anything to compensate for their error. The receptionist Maggie was rude. Very unprofessional.

The massage and facial I got were both relaxing. The ambience is ok, especially in the waiting area in the back. I only have 2 complaints — the first: the walls are kind of thin, so I can hear the doors open and close and when I’m in the room closer to the front, I can hear people talking, the second: I never get the full hour as stated on the list of services. I’m undecided if I would go back because the actual service itself is good and it’s conveniently close to where I live, however, I gave them 2 chances and I never get the full hour I pay for.

I gotta stop buying things from Groupon. My wife and I went for a couple massage a few months ago. I can’t say enough in regards to how bad it was but here it goes… 1. The room was so tight even 1 massage table would have been a squeeze but 2?! The therapists kept bumping into each other and us. 2. The therapists couldn’t possibly have been licensed, the moves were dull, inconsistent pressure, felt like I was a dog being petted. 3. My therapists nails were so long they were digging into me with with each move. 4. They never checked in with us to ask about the pressure or how we were feeling. 5. At the conclusion the 2 therapists stood right beside us at the register Staring at us just waiting for tips.
Bottom line, if you want a real massage go to a real spa or chiropractors office. This place is a rip off

If i can give them a zero I would. Purchased it on groupon. DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! We were suppose to receive a 60 minute couples massage, hand/​foot massage, a facial, and wine/​chocolates. We received a 60 minute couples massage and heshey kisses. they left the room. we thought they were coming back in to do the rest instead they told us we had to get out because another appointment coming in. when we told them about the rest of the stuff we were suppose to get they told us we didn’t specifiy what was on the groupon. whatttttttttttt??? worst place ever!

Product, service and customer care is fantastic. I have become a regular at M Spa for various treatments (massages, facials, scrubs, and waxes). Great deals/​discounts are often provided through Groupon, and from the owner, Maggie, directly on birthdays and other special occasions. In addition, I once got a confirmation e-​mail for an appointment that noted a price that was lower than I normally paid — I thought it was some kind of special promotion. After my treatment, I was rung up at the full price. When I got home, and pulled up the e-​mail, I forwarded it back to the owner and asked if there was a mistake on one end or the other. Maggie confirmed the price I had paid was the regular price, but that she would offer me a special rate on my next 3 appointments (basically 3 for the price of 2) to make up for the confusion! She, and her employees, are professional, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable. I can’t recommend them enough!

I have been here about 5 times now, And I have to say I love it!!!
The staff is friendly and Maggie is always willing to give you the best deals. I have seen both Maggie and Ann Marie for facials and both are highly qualified and do and amazing job. My skin has gotten so much better because of their expertise and advice. I would recommend a facial here to anyone!

Just left this «spa». I had a Groupon for a 70 minute fountain of youth facial. My appointment was at 4pm and I arrived right at 4:00. I was taken to a waiting room in the back. There was a slight «stinky feet» odor in the waiting room.
The esthetician came in to get water and said she would be back in a few minutes to take me. I was reading my email while waiting for her and she took me to the treatment room at 4:21. I changed and she came in and did a decent facial and then left me for about 15 minutes, then removed the stuff on my face and it was over. I got dressed, and grabbed my phone thinking that the time had gone quickly and it was 5:12. hmmm, I thought this was a 70 minute treatment? Maybe I was mistaken? When I got out to my car, I tried to pull up the Groupon but it was redeemed so I couldn’t read the deal, so I drove home. When I got home, I was able to read the Groupon and I was not mistaken. It was supposed to be a 70 minute treatment. I called the spa and left a message. Maggie, the esthetician called right back and said that Groupon had made a mistake, it was supposed to read 60 minutes. I told her I didn’t even get that – it was more like 50 minutes including the dressing time. She said if it would make me happy I could come back for 10 more minutes. I couldn’t believe she said that. That really ticked me off. I won’t be returning to this spa and definitely regret not heeding the other reviewers warnings. This was definitely not worth even the $ 49 I paid for it.

i made a reservation for a couples massage one month ago for my anniversary. they called 3 days before the appointment to cancel because one of their massage therapists had «quit.» They offered no compensation and could not even recommend another place to go. There is no way I am going to get an appointment elsewhere this close to the day. They ruined my anniversary and cost my cancellation fees for a hotel room and dinner — we live 45 minutes away and were making a day of it. This was extremely disappointing and demonstrated how unreliable this service is. Don’t book anything of value here.
