Why must EVERYTHING in CT cost so much more money? You’ve got almost $ 4/gallon gas and then you’ve got to contend with $ 15 buckets of golf balls and $ 5 tokens for the batting cages at the GCC, gggeezzzzzz. Just a few minutes off the Merritt Parkway, this center truly is great and has everything one needs for an action packed, family type of day. There are activities for just about everyone, dad can hit some balls at the driving range, mom and the daughters can bowl together while Jr. takes a whack at some baseballs. I go to batting cages often and not once has the price approached $ 5 for one go-around at it so I was shocked to see this was the cost. Sure, you can buy in bulk for cheaper but I still found the one time price appalling. Sorry GCC, your rating will never go beyond 3 stars BECAUSEOFYOURPRICES. The driving range facilities were nice and two-tiered. We were there on a 80+ degree day so it was nice to have some shade on the lower level. I had some issues with the size of the tees being too small for driving but the mats were ideal and nice for chipping. The kids loved the video games area, I never caught the prices in there. So yah, value goes a lllloonnnnggg way for me and I’d probably spent more time/money had I not been so turned off by the prices. I would have thrown in a possible round of mini golf but after dropping over $ 50 for just an hour or so of entertainment, we packed up everyone and booked it down the road to the nearest diner.

Good driving range off of the mats with decent targets that are near where they are supposed to be. Blue collar crowd. Kids are supervised on the driving range and its a good family place.

The mats here are of that harder variety and only offer 1 level of «cut» I think this place is just fine, but Golf Center of Connecticut is really not that fun. At least at Golf Quest in Brookfield there is a FREIGHTTRAIN, YES real LIVE train going by quite often. Thats right, a train and golf enthusiasts dream! But GC of C in Shelton has its advantages– YESHELIOCOPTERSABOUND– so if you like golf and choppers, this is the obvious choice 4u. Lets see, this place also is the place for some interesting croweds ever since the arcade on Boston ave in BPT shut down in 2006. Now one can witness bridgeport/stratforders mingle with adventurous valley folk= always fun to watch and listen to the slight differences in speech and behavior as they try to conquer WHACKY gator with 3 people, in which a victory combined with a high score in modern day ICEBALL may yield enough tickets for a snap bracelet! PLUS– driving range is heated and a big target in the range! minus– not enough numbered markers out there
