My name is Gena Wiltshire and I am a professional singer and educator living in the Greater Charlotte area. I have been teaching people to sing since 2010. My students range from middle and high school young adults to adults in their thirties, forties, and beyond. I have experience teaching both male and female voices of all types. I have had students join professional choirs, graduate from college with Bachelor’s of Music, and become successful in off broadway musicals and community theater.
It is my belief that all people can learn to sing; therefore I believe that the process of learning to sing can be a wonderful time of exploration, self-expression, and experiencing aesthetics through the listening and making of music. It is my goal to help the student reach his/her utmost potential in his/her vocal production, technique, and expression/stage presence. I cherish the making of music with my voice, and I hope to pass that love on to every student I teach.

I am currently in the process of applying to be an Associate Member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing, which will allow any student of mine to compete in year-round vocal competitions in classical and musical theater categories.
I am also in the process of becoming a certified Alexander Technician, which will allow me to use the Alexander Technique appropriately and effectively in the vocal studio.
