Buddy’s Pizza

I never understood why a lot of restaurants place the most awkward or people who seem shy or never speak. A hostess or greeter should bubbly and overly obnoxious. Anyways the waitress was great and the bread sticks and pizza were very good. Usually go to the Warren location but this is right in our backyard and figured we should finally give it a try. Glad we did it was good as usual.

Wait time was 40 – 45 minutes but it was well worth it. Just like the Buddy’s pizza I remember as a kid. Wait staff was friendly and nice. They even handled our dairy free allergy. Great job!

Over rated pizza How in the world is this place rated number one. Anti pasta was good but don’t understand the hype on the sub par pizza. Flavorless undercooked cheese with small amounts of toppings.

It had been a while since I had eaten a Buddy’s pizza and all I can say is I’m not sure what took me so long to come back! My order was simple~ a four square cheese and pepperoni. I like how the pepperoni is underneath the sauce so it doesn’t get dried out. The crust alone sets their pizza apart from all the others! Absolutely loved the crust! It’ll now be at the top of my list when it comes to choosing a place for delicious pizza. The lunchtime service was great as well.

You can’t be good forever. Things seem to have gone downhill in the past few months. As a loyal customer of two years I plan on taking a break after two doughy pizzas and a few raw mushrooms under our remade pizza.

Great pizza and salads We come here with the soccer team a few times each year. So we just had dinner and ordered kids a cheese pizza with a veggie for the wife and I. Then the kitchen dropped our pizza. The waitress told us it they would make a new one… okay. Well the new one came out super quick and was doughy and raw in the middle. We started to eat and told the waitress. She offered to make it yet again but by then the kids had ate already so we ate around the edges and called it a day. She took it off the bill which was the right thing to do. Hopefully never a repeat of this because we like Buddy’s!

Review of soup only. The people here were great. Ordered carry out for boss and I, chicken dumpling soup only to find out it was just chicken noodle soup with dumpling noodles put in and not very flavorful. Not thick like a normal dumpling soup. The first time I brought the soup back to my office I thought they had made a mistake as I saw the soup broth so I called and they said sorry and gave me another order, only to see the same thing. When I called back the girl stated this is how their dumpling soup is made. Again the staff was helpful, but the soup was unexpected and lacked flavor.

This is by far our favorite place for pizza! The antipasto salad is consistently good and «The Detroiter» pizza is a can’t miss classic. To top it off they always have my favorite beer, Bells Two Hearted Ale, on draft. Keep doing what you’re doing Buddy’s!

Love the food. Love the pizza. Amazing staff. Very friendly. I’ve tried all types of pizzas in Italy. And also the new York style, Chicago style but the Detroit style pizza has it’s own taste. Had a friend with me and he lived it too.

The pizza is great! Super cheesy, good crust thickness, salads tossed fresh. Their dressing is super good but if you take it home, make sure there’s no dressing– really soggy after a day.
Biggest complaint– their group party room. If you are having 30+ people get it IN WRITING with manager signature that you have the whole room. They tried squeezing a party of 15 in there with our party of 42. Um, no. Private room– get it together management.

It’s 9:30pm on a Sunday football evening and I’m craving pizza. So I call buddy’s pizza and asked «Elena» that I would like to place a carryout. After a few seconds of silence and a huge deep breath it seems as she was trying to tell me to fuck off it’s to late! This just got me so heated it killed my apatite to even eat. I will make sure I call the manager or higher and complain to the fullest. This place has okay pizza with terrible service. I’m a big spender when it comes to eating out, I will never give this place a dime.

Someone told me that they had the best gluten free pizza they have ever had here… well, they lied! Wow was it bad. It looked gross, but I decided to give it the benefit of the doubt and yuck! It tasted like pure garlic, which is really not my thing and the crust was really soggy and tasted underdone. I wouldn’t suggest this pizza to gluten free pizza lovers, it’s not worth the time!

Really great pizza. Had a pizza-​off with Buddy’s, Jet’s and Green Lantern and it came in (a close) second place. Salad is always great here.

Came here with the lady friend for some lunch and I can’t complain one bit. The place is spacious and wasn’t very crowded.
The wait staff was friendly and attentive, checking on us regularly and quick to bring refills.
We ordered buddy’s bread for an appetizer, which if you love pizzeria bread sticks you’ll love these. The default dipping sauce is excellent and you get a very generous portion of bread for the low $ 2.99 price.
We ordered the 8pc supreme pizza, known as «the super» here. Ingredients were fresh, pizza was cooked perfectly and it was a very modest wait time. Even if there was a wait there’s enough to look at to keep your mind occupied.
I’d come here any day!

Wow, great gluten free pizzas. Had the Sicilian, substituting roasted garlic for green peppers, on the gluten free crust. Man, I so wanted pizza, and this hit the spot! While the gluten free is thinner than the traditional thick crust at Buddies, I swear, you couldn’t tell it was not wheat. Amazing! Guys had the Original Square Ultimate Italian. They were also in pie heaven. Yummmmmmy! And the antipasto salad is sooooo very good.

Yesterday was the first EVER having pizza at Buddy’s and I was blown away. It was amazing! Only had to wait 10 minutes for a table. Had the antipasto salad and a large pizza. The service was amazing, food was amazing, noisy, but great food. Hands down, best pizza in town!

We ordered Togo. The quote time was 20 minutes which was accurate
We got the Hawaiian thin crust, meat lovers square, Buddys bread and the antipasto salad.
All items were so good!!! In so picky when it comes to pizza (maybe because there’s a pizza joint on every corner around here) but this pizza was phenomenal. The only negative I have about it which they lost a star was that the pizza sizes were on the smaller side.
We will be back and I’m excited to try different things!
Also– the cheese on the pizza isn’t like anything else! So fresh and yummy!

One of the better chain pizza restaurants! Great atmosphere and GREAT pizza! I have been here multiple times and it’s consistently great. For vegans: they have vegan cheese so go on in and have yourself some pizza!

Looks very nice in the inside and well organized. Wait staff is good and food comes out quick even when they are slammed busy. I ordered their I want to say Mexican infused pizza and it was amazing. Must try and bread is good as well well diff entry come here again.

Okay I would like to start by saying this was my FIRST time dining in a Buddy’s. I know, I know, how can I be from this area and never stopped in. I have had their pizza before, just not in a sit down location. The second thing I will tell you is I am not a fan of Detroit style pizza.
WHAT? HOW DARE I? Sorry guys in general I love a round pizza, and a really good crust. A thin pizza is also my fav. That being said-​I give this pizza and this place 4 wonderful stars. Here’s why.
We got here and it was packed. Had to wait 15 minutes for a table but it went by quickly. The place is huge and beautiful. There were so many people but it didn’t feel cramped. It was also very very loud, but that was okay too.
We ordered an individual antipasto salad. Plenty for 2 people with extra. That was great. They ask if you want the dressing on or if you want it on the side to add yourself. I love that option. We had it mixed in. It was just right.
Then we ordered the 4 piece Detroiter Pizza. It took about 15 minutes to come out but that’s expected. Our waitress checked on us a ton, which was impressive seeing the number of tables she had.
The pizza came out and it smelled fantastic. The other thing you should know is I really don’t care for pizza sauce. WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU, you are saying. Well, that’s just me. I’d rather tell you these things so you can understand how much I do like this pizza and that is impressive!
Pizza was super good. I picked the pieces with the least sauce, but it was so cheesy and flavorful it didn’t matter. Corners were nice and crisp, which I love. If I have a sq. pizza I want a corner piece. These were cheesy, not burnt but not soggy, and magical. The pepperoni was also crispy which I just love. Top that off with some red pepper flakes and you sir have yourself a good pizza.
I would highly recommend going here. You may have to wait, but the other pizzas and some of the non-​pizza items (mac and cheese… kid at the table next to us I almost took it from you. you are lucky I restrained myself) look and smell heavenly. Worth the wait. The vibe was cool too. There were all age groups here. Some having drinks, some with large groups of children. Perfect for all ages.
If you typically don’t like a Detroit Style Pizza, I would still try them out. The staff seemed to all be very happy, helpful, and fast to refill drinks, places, napkins etc…
Good job Buddy’s! I will return many times :)
