Heart of the Village Inn

The hosts Anatoly and Rose were so warm and welcoming. I felt at home. It is their home and it felt like it. I stayed in «Tracy» a room with a queen size bed. The amenities – fine chocolate and an assortment of teas and Keurig coffee – were excellent touches. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. I really like the shampoo and conditioner. My hair felt silky smooth.
Next morning I woke up to the aroma of breakfast cooking downstairs. Breakfast was exquisite and the portions were just right. Try the flourless quiche in a ramekin!

I made reservations here for a get away 1^st anniversary trip for my wife and I. I emailed the inn keepers, Rose and Anatoly, and got a very quick response. Rose was able to be very accommodating for a few requests I made to surprise my wife.
The room was awesome. We stayed in the carriage house Webb suite. The bed was very comfortable. The room smelled like new carpet and was immaculately clean. The bathroom was ample size for a Victorian house and was also clean.
Breakfast at the Inn is chosen by you the night before on their menu. I recommend the salmon Benedict. The best thing was the Vermont Cigars, bacon wrapped sausage links with secret seasonings. Everything we had at our two breakfasts was delicious. Anatoly is a great cook. Rose does a great job hosting and is very accommodating with whatever you need or want.
The two inn keepers are very knowledgeable about local restaurants, bars, wines, beers and anything you are looking to do. Just don’t be afraid to ask for ideas.
You won’t be disappointed if you decide to stay here.

I loved staying at the Heart of the Village Inn!
The room was comfortable and gorgeously decorated. The inn itself had so many cool & interesting little touches. My favorite were the repurposed tea kettles that have been fashioned into lovely light fixtures and the other subtle works of art that I was able to enjoy while sipping coffee & looking around. The innkeepers, Rose & Toly, are amazing hosts. The breakfast was absolutely delicious as well. The love that has been poured into this place is palpable. I can’t wait to go back.

We just left today and the stay was great. Breakfast was good and filling. Room was very clean and comfortable. Would stay again if in the area. Rose and Anatoly are very helpful and friendly

If you find yourself in the Burlington/​Shelburne area of Vermont looking for a perfect bed & breakfast, look no further. This place was perfect in every sense of the word. Calling it a bed & breakfast might not even do it justice (we had a separate room with a hot tub, how many B&Bs can you say that about). This place exceeded our expectations and we highly recommend it.

Although «Heart of the Village» is billed as a Victorian bed and breakfast, it is not your stereotypical stuffy Victorian. No dusty grandma doilies here! The house is warm and comfortable, a true reflection of the hospitality of the owners. Breakfast every morning was amazing. Unlike other B&B’s I’ve stayed in, you are offered several options for your breakfast instead of a set menu. A definite must stay if you’re visiting the Burlington/​Shelburne area. We’re already planning a return visit!

I scheduled a last minute surprise for my girlfriend on Valentine’s Day. We stayed in the van Vliet room which was very cute. King size bed with a memory foam mattress made for a wonderful night sleep. The inn was very nicely decorated and had a lovely homey feel to it. The breakfast we received was delicious. They had warm sticky buns, fresh fruit, and we also were served any style eggs with bacon. Overall I would say this made for a wonderful valentines day gift. I look forward to staying here again soon.

I decided to throw my sister-in-law’s baby shower here. I could not have been happier with the enthusiasm, service, quality, and space. They were also less expensive than other options we researched. The space was limited to 20 people, which was fine for our purposes. Highly recommended for a function like a shower.

We just spent two days here and have nothing but praise for the people and the place. Every single person who worked here (no exceptions) treated you as if
you were the only guest. The breaksfast room was warm, cozy and beautifully
set. The food was excellent. My g.f. has some food restrictions, and they
worked with her. The room we had was small but the bed was comfortable.
Everything was and FELT clean. They kept the old, beautiful house up and
we will come back again, that’s for sure.

Had for reasons unknown booked a room at the Comfort Inn for an event down in Shelburne. Luckily friends were already staying at the Heart of the Village so I promptly called and canceled the other. What a great place. Cozy and comfortable rooms and delicious food. And excellent location and very affordable.

We stayed here last minute this past Memorial Day weekend when our camping plans got rained out, and loved it. We are not usually big B&B folks. The Innkeepers (Simon and Jessica) were very welcoming, accommodating, accessible, but not in your face — personally greeted us, answered questions and had suggestions for local things to do and see, and served a wonderfully home cooked breakfast the next day while taking the time to talk to other folks to whom they were just as accommodating to. Our room (the Van Vliet) was cozy — huge, super comfortable bed, private bath with sink in the bedroom rather than the bathroom, and plenty of room for us to have a picnic on the floor of the local cheese, breads, and fruits we had gathered from the nearby Burlington Farmer’s Market and shops, when again, the rain kept us inside. Price range was good. Common areas clean and enjoyable for reading and relaxing, lovely wrap around porch with rocking chairs. Burlington, local farms and breweries are all close by. Would definitely stay again.

Simon and Jess did a fantastic job of going out of their way to make it possible to hold a small business meeting at the Inn. Everything from providing lunch, to a conference table and speaker phone.
It was a perfect venue, with beautiful rooms, comfortable beds, and a lovely location.
And best of all, my boss said «We need to do this again. It’s better than going to New York or some other cities.»
