If you truly enjoy what you day everyday, working 7 days around the clock supporting my team of talented artists, it never actually feels like work. For many people that get inked, the experience is something that they’ll have forever along with their ink. It’s truly the Citizens getting the Ink that made it all possible for Citizen Ink to grow and still be here after many years since our doors opened. The dedication is a collaborative team effort between everyone at the shop along with myself and a few other long time friends that enable us to provide the highest quality service to you. What an amazing shop, very creative, skilled and diligent. Get your prices stated upfront though cause what it says on the wall might not be correct. Charged me $ 600 for half day when sign says $ 500 but nonetheless I was satisfied and plan on coming back.

Katya Krasnova worked out of Citizen Ink when she was in town a few months ago. I was lucky enough to catch her two days before she left the US.
Im not gona lie, this part of BK sucks. There are no good places to eat or bars in the area– or maybe we just never go to this part of BK so we didnt know any better.
Anyway, while I waited my turn, my boyfriend decided to ger flash from Yulia. She was super nice, chatty, friendly. To be honest, I was afraid of how the tattoo would turn out, since I’m not a fan of tats on the fly, without researching the artist first. His arms are pretty much sleeved out so he didnt care– he just had the itch for one. However, the piece turned out really really really great!
We both agreed that we wouldn’t hesitate to come back, if we were ever in this part of BK again. Cash only and there is a bank across the street if you need to withdraw.

The shop was really clean nice people very professional. I only wasn’t too impressed with the tattoo I received the line work wasn’t clean it was very uneven and the detail wasn’t that great after it healed. I went to another shop to clean up the detail that wasn’t done. I wouldn’t recommend this shop if they can’t get script writing down without an issue could you imagine a portrait piece. Stay away !!!’ warning!!!

Great place., really nice artists. At first I was a bit confused about what to get, but they were really patient with me and helped me decide. The place is clean, I was explained in detail about all the precautions and techniques used for sterilization, and after the tattoo was done, about tattoo care and dos n donts. The whole experience was pleasant and wasn’t as painful or scary I thought it would be. Prices are on point, but good places aren’t cheap so no complaints there. Overall I’d say I’d love to come back here and highly recommend to anyone going for their first tattoo or those who maybe wanna try a new tattoo place.

They were «OK». My sisters and I got our noses pierced here all on the same day. I told him I wanted it to be in a good place for a hoop ring to fit nice and snug down the line. He recommended getting the screw ring first and changing to the hoop later. He said the screw is easier than a stud to clean for a new piercing. So we all said ok. I confirmed with him that the piercing would fit a hoop, and he also confirmed with his coworker, so I trusted his judgement. I ended up hating the location. As i have a wide nose it was far too close to the end of my nostril, and the bar of the screw didnt go to the back, it stuck out the front of my nose. I found this to be distracting and not appropriate for work. I was headed out of the country for vacation, but the day after I came back I went to a different piercer and got a long stud, and my nose re-​pierced in the RIGHT location.
Also, my sisters piercing is turning dark around the ring, I’m not sure about the type of jewelry they used. I would think twice about piercings here, there strengths are clearly with Tattoos!

Let me start by saying I’ve had about 3 other tattoos done in other places and I’m like brownish tan skin tone, each of my other tattoos have dulled in color after peeling.
BUT let me just say I recently got my tattoo at citizen ink and the color is the same vibrance since the day I got it I couldn’t be any happier. From now on the only place I will ever get tattoos!!! :D

My first tattoo @ 55 years of age. I couldn’t have been happier with the job. What a shock to the family! Everyone loved it! I’m glad my son recommended this shop. 100% first rate & professional. Brittany was meticulous in completing this work of art on my arm.

My wife and I Went here and got work done twice and we love this shop. Vlad hooked me up with a colorful Octopus. My wife delt with dima and he satifisfied her girly ink needs. All these guys are genuine and good at what they do. Tats are solid prices are very reasonable (you get what you pay for) they made our tattoo experience very enjoyable. Very professional and true Artist, not after your money just a bunch of guys doing what they love.

Citizens Ink had an excellent selection of flash for their Friday the 13th promotion – I got two surprisingly large black and white pieces and spent all of $ 40 i ($ 13 plus $ 7 tip for each) for these fantastic tattoos! Everybody who worked there was friendly and helpful, and Vladimir had a great bedside manner and did a terrific job with the shading. I’ve been to a lot of shops and gotten a lot of tattoos over the last 20 years, and I gotta say, this one is really worth returning to. Thanks guys!

Excellent professional service. I came with a friend for some piercings. Vlad was very attentive and warm. He explained everything and checked in with us frequently. Everything was clean and sterile, the place is very well organized and maintained. Vlad even helped with some piercing issues I had from piercings from other places. We did not have to wait. We are coming back for sure!

I just love those guys! :) Living a minute walking distance from Citizen ink, I had first visited for a tragus piercing on 2010 but would not imagine taking my whole family there one by one for tattoos. My first victim was mom, I «bought» her a tattoo as a birthday gift, Joe was her artist to draw, a colorful pisces sign, she just loved it. Then me and my mom again had a similar tattoo this summer, then my father had his 30+ year old tattoo retouched by Soner and you can not say it is a retouch but a brandnew tattoo! The saloon is so clean and hygienic, I do not even have a single doubt when I go there, usually it is hard to find a Turkish speaking tattoo artist in NYC but they even have this problem solved for our parents :) Thank you guyyss!

Got a tattoo here on Monday and I love it. Everyone was very professional and nice. Reasonably priced.
I give Citizen Ink 4 stars because although they are great, I have gotten many different aftercare instructions. The artist I saw told me to wear socks for a few days after the tattoo. This sounded odd considering my new tattoo is on my ankle so after some research I learned that I should NOT wear socks after getting the tattoo.
I was also told that I should use A&D on the new piece and then learned from someone else at the shop that Aquaphor is better? A bit confusing.
I have other tattoos so I pretty much knew what to expect, but if someone were getting a first tattoo here, I hope they’d be more clear with aftercare instructions and expectations.
Again, the tattoo is great and everyone was really nice. I just wish there was more communication between the staff/​customers regarding aftercare.

Went here a year ago for my back tattoo. Considering this piece was particularly important to me, I didn’t want to go just anywhere. Citizen Ink was walking distance and highly recommended, so off I went. Soner was my artist, and he did an excellent job, even slightly altering the piece I gave him to make it even more bad ass. The tat was an armored angel, a tribute to my niece who passed. I could not have asked for a better job or a more fun place to get it done. The staff was great and I got my tattoo done in 2 hours when every place else I checked quoted 3 – 4 hours and higher prices.

I got this back in the winter and it is now the middle of spring. I’ve waited so long to write this review because I was hoping it would heal over time. I’ve heard such great things about this place. How upsetting, as I was charged $ 60 for this. I understand that it is the minimum to charge and the tattoo I got was non-​complex, (a small heart) but that doesn’t mean they can do it sloppily. I feel as though because it wasn’t magnificent, they didn’t care as much. However, that is no way to treat any customer. Whether your tattoo is small or big, simple or intricate, it should be done with great care and concentration. Joe did my tattoo. It’s smudged and also uneven when viewed at different angles. So disappointing.
