Van Horn-Hyundai Inc

I received the same letter that Centuriondk referred to from Van Horn Hyundai.
For a millisecond I thought Santa had come to my aide when I received a letter from Van Horn Hyundai informing me that they were searching everywhere for my specific model. The letter from the sales manager Mike addressed to one of his sales associates named Greg stated that he had been unable to find my car model anywhere locally. He stated that the only one he could locate was specifically my car in Sheboygan. His note did not specify a model year, only the model.
Then I heard from several friends each of whom received the same letter with the same little personalized note attached. My moment of feeling really special was over.
Now I have to run for a lunch with several friends. According to letters they have received from Van Horn Hyundai, one has the only Toyota Camry in our entire area, one has the only Honda Civic, another the only Honda CRV, and one with the only Honda Odyssey minivan. Now here is the dilemma; two of my friends claim to have received a Van Horn letter stating that each possesses the only Hyundai Sonata in the entire area! Since I do not wish to impugn the veracity of the Van Horn Dealership, I must assume one of my friends is lying. This is a sad day to experience this from friends whose integrity you have always counted on.
Finally, could I please hear from others who may own the only vehicle of their model in our entire area?

Recieved a letter from Van Horn that they has been looking for a car like ours and wanted to buy it from us to resell at their lot. They asked us to come in so they could give us an appraisal and promised to pay 20% over blue book price. After talking to them and confirming that they really sent the letter I was ready to go in… until I found out 3 friends had received identical letters. Some of these friends had very old beaters that no one would want to resell.
At this point we are convinced that this was a tactic to get you onto the lot to try to up sell you into something.
