Meet the Business Owner

Mike M.

Business Owner

Mike has been in the pest control business for over 15 years but he did not start there. He graduated from Fort Hays State University with a bachelor’s in finance. Mike wanted to find a business that he could make his own. That same year Mike met a man who wanted to sell his pest control business that he had in Grandview for 25 years.

Mike didn’t know much about pest control at the time but he worked with the owner for a year and decided to buy the company from him. Eventually the business grew and Mike was able to drop his other two jobs once his business more than quadruple’d. Crown Termite Control is now a family owned business including Mike, his wife Theresa, his partner of 13 years, Brad Costa and part-​time worker Gary Bowley who has been there eight years.

Mike says he has always been driven to work, but when he has free time, Mike enjoys playing basketball, traveling and going on cruises with his wife and teenage daughter.
