Well… What can I say… It is what it is. I’ve been going to this location since the building has been here. It started off as a ½ Price store, then it became Gordman’s, then a few years ago it became Burlington Coat Factory. You really have to dig to find the good deals. When I was a kid the JOCOBCF was off of I-35 in Overland Park and was mostly coats. Now you have to look hard to find coats. In fact, they are wayyyyy in the back, and there isn’t much of a selection. Although they have a nice selection of home goods, women & mens wear, kids wear, toys, perfume, baby stuff, shoes and candles. It is almost like a less expensive Kohl’s. While I am the subject of shoes and toys, I was there not too long after it became Burlington. I couldn’t believe the mess in the shoe & toy departments! I snapped a couple of photos and sent them to corporate headquarters. I was told that they«there wasn’t enough room in storage for the merchandise.» No it was rude shoppers and inattentive parents.(Or not enough staff!)

In general, I would say that I’m not really a fan of this Burlington Coat Factory. This location(and I honestly don’t know if they’re all like this, or if this specific store is a one-off) seems like a dingy-er, lower budget TJ Maxx or Marshalls. There’s always a long, slow moving checkout line, and items seem to be somewhat haphazardly strewn around. BUT, with that being said, we’ve stopped in here twice looking for specific outerwear(coats, of course!), and both times we’ve scored good deals on exactly what we were looking for. On our first visit, not only did we both get good quality thickly lined(warm!) waterproof jackets, we also got a nice travel toiletry bag for my husband and some cute Halloween socks for me. On our most recent visit we both found name brand waterproof windbreakers, exactly what we need for an upcoming trip. An added bonus — mine only cost $ 18, so even if it doesn’t last beyond our trip, I certainly won’t be upset.(And I have every reason to believe that the jacket will last, even though it was inexpensive, as the last jacket I purchased has been around for nearly 2 years and is still looking good.) So, all in all, you can find some good deals here, especially if you need a jacket, but you have to be willing to dig a bit and ignore the chaos of the merchandise and the slow check out lines. For me, for an $ 18 jacket, I’d say it was worth the trip.
