Bubbles Mobile Dog Wash KC

My dog smelled great after this wash even after a week! Extremely convenient, affordable and the owner was very sweet.

Kiya, our German Shepherd/​Husky mix found her way into a pile of dead fish by the creek behind our house the other day, clouding her in a stench that was both overpowering and horrifying.
Perhaps I need to be a bit more attentive when I am walking the dog that never found a mess she didn’t love and immediately roll around in.
I tried to get it out, I swear. Several washes and a lot of, «Omigod, Kiya, please stop trying to kiss me! You reek!» later, the smell was better, but I could still catch a whiff every now and then. I decided to take her to Shawnee Mission Dog Park, figuring that a swim at the dog beach, followed by yet another bath, would probably do the trick.
After a fun frolic, I still smell fish on the hound as we exit the off-​leash section of the park, where the Bubbles Mobile Dog Wash trailer rises from the parking lot like some kind of clean doggie beacon of hope. The owner looked like she was closing up shop, so I scooted over as quickly as I could. She was very friendly and assured me that she would be happy to help us out with a bath. Score point one: great customer service.
Kiya wasn’t too fond of the ramp leading up to the dog wash station, but after a few attempts to get her to climb up, we got her situated. The owner was gentle with my pup, talking to her kindly and calmly. Kiya, who shies away from me during bath time like Superman trying to escape Kryptonite, only got nervous a few times throughout the ordeal. For the most part, she was calm and soothed. Score point two: This woman really knows her business — and obviously loves dogs.
The lavender shampoo smells like heaven. The water is warm, but not hot and the sprayers are easy to use. The chamois cloths used to dry off are soft and super absorbent. The dog wash station is eco-​friendly, meaning that I can feel virtuous while my dog gets cleaned up. Score point three: the products and tools used are carefully chosen, thought-​out and happy-​making.
The price point is reasonable — $ 10 for a do-​it yourself, $ 15 for the owner to do it. I feel like the convenience, organic products, ease of use and the fact that I don’t have to pull masses of Kiya hair clumps out of my bathtub makes it well worth the cost. I wish she took credit/​debit cards, (I BARELY had the cash to cover and had to scrounge for change) but I can get over it. Score point four: a great cost to benefit ratio.
Post-​bath, my dog no longer smells like she rolled around in a dead demon. Score point 1,264,839.

Though this might not be the most relevant review to be writing in early December, it needs to be said that I am a big fan of dog parks with lakes. My dog is capital H-​Hyper, and no amount of running seems to wear her out as thoroughly as 30 minutes of me throwing a toy into the water and making her swim for it. The downside? Wet, smelly dog.
Enter Bubbles Mobile Dog Wash! This traveling dog groomer has made the genius business decision to park her truck outside of Shawnee Mission Park’s dog area! Instead of driving the 30 minutes home with a stinky, wet dog in tow I can instead just give her a bath and dry her off before I ever get into the car!
There are a couple of different options, but it really boils down to «do you want to wash your own dog or have the nice lady do it?» I usually go for doing it myself, first because it’s less expensive, but also because I just seem to enjoy it (it’s the cleanup of my bathroom afterwards that I generally hate). Still, for those that aren’t into getting soaked by their dog during a bath, it’s good to have the option.
She travels around a lot, weather permitting, but I believe her website and facebook both have an update of her daily location. Also, she does pet sitting… but I’ve never used that service.
