At Back Mountain Dental we feel it is a privilege to provide quality general, cosmetic and i.v. sedation dentistry for our patients in the Wyoming Valley. Our office is a 2010 preferred provider for Invisalign. Dr. DeFinnis was also WNEP’s Ask the Dental Health Professional for 5 years. The office treats adults, teens and children and offers low monthly payments for the entire family

History

Established in 2000.

Dr. DeFinnis purchased the practice from the late Dr. Charles Lawley. Since then the office has been totally remodeled and expanded to accommodate our growing practice and the office offers many home like qualities, including XM satellite radio streaming throughout the office, tv’s in every operatory and complimentary WI-​FI.

Dr. DeFinnis became I.V. certified in 2007 to offer Sedation Dentistry for those patients that are fearful of the dentist and offer one visit crowns by Cerec.

Dr, James DeFinnis would like to welcome Dr. Meghan Tsakalos to the practice. Dr. Tsakalso is a native Californian who is now proud to call northeastern Pennsylvania home.

In addition to the insurances accepted currently (United Concordia, Delta Dental, Guardian, Metropolitan Life), Dr. Tsakalos is a participating provider with Aetna & Cigna will allow Back Mountain dental to provide office hours on Friday and Wednesday evenings to accommodate the growing needs of the practice.

Dr. DeFinnis loves what he does and you can sense his passion in every step of your experience.

Dr. James DeFinnis is a graduate of Temple University School of Dentistry, Bucknell University and Berwick Senior High School, he is the third member of my family to join the dental profession.

Dr. James DeFinnis is a member of American Dental Association (ADA), Academy of General Dentistry, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) and Pennsylvania Dental Association.

Dr. James DeFinnis’ commitment is to stay on the cutting edge of dentistry; he prides himself on participation in continuing education. He’s even attended courses by Dr. Frank Spears, one of the country’s leading educators in esthetic and restorative dentistry and is proud to be part of Dr. Frank Spears faculty study club. He also attends courses throughout the country to enhance the services he provides.
