Children’s Hours Playgroup is a small-​group enrichment playgroup experience for two-​year old children. The curriculum of the Children’s Hours is grounded in the Montessori principles of respect, independence, and cooperation, and the emphasis is on the development of language skills and fine-​motor coordination. Our daily activities include arts, music, cooking, and outdoor play in our large, fenced playground. The atmosphere is relaxed and supportive, with a teacher/​child ratio of ²⁄₆. The Children’s Hours meets Monday through Thursday from 9:15 to 12:15, including lunch, and provides parents the choice of two or three-​day enrollment. Our school year follows the calendar of the Sharon Public Schools.

History

Established in 1990.

Children’s Hours Playgroup has been serving the children and families of Sharon, Canton, Foxborough, Norwood and Mansfield for a number of years. We are pleased that family friendships are formed here and continue as the children grow.

Sandy holds a Masters Degree in Education and was also a Montessori Directress for ten years. She holds a Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care licence, #9 010 505.
