My father approached Colonel Sanders in 1965 in order to add his famous recipe chicken to our family restaurant in Sunbury. In 1967 the restaurant was doubled in size & in 1969 we expanded to this Shamokin Dam site. I was 16 in 1965 when I learned the KFC way. I took over in 1978 & we’ve been going strong since then.

Great service, nice, modern, clean place. The bowl meal wasn’t as good as I expected. The biscuit and chocolate chip cookie were really good! Curious that for such a well decorated interior the men’s toilet was installed so crooked.

Stopped in here to participate in the Oprah free chicken dinner giveaway… Gotta give em credit for so heavily promoting their new Grilled Chicken, it sure got be into the store.
I hadn’t been to a KFC in a long time, but based on the food, I think that will change. The chicken was quite tasty, the sides, especially the cole slaw, were awesome, and the biscuit was flaky and tasty.
So why did I only give a two star review?
The service was horrible! It could’ve been because they were swamped with people wanting free chicken, but that’s no excuse!
This was their chance to showcase the best their restaurant had to offer, and they simply failed. I will visit other locations in the future because of the high quality food, but not this location!
