GuitarFixer Bob is luthier Bob Pieper. Pieper, who has more than 30 years experience playing, building and repairing guitars, offers lessons for students of all ages and skill levels, sales and consignments of new, used and vintage instruments and amplifiers and an interesting selection of new and vintage parts and accessories. Pieper is perhaps best known for his repair work; he does it all, from set ups and electronics to fret jobs, neck repairs and more.

History

Established in 2010.

Bob Pieper got his start working at Brian Guitars in New Haven before moving on to Rudy’s Music in New York City and Ace Music in Santa Monica, Calif. In the 1990s, he moved back east and opened a mobile guitar repair business serving New York City and surrounding areas. Before opening GuitarFixer Bob in 2010, he co-​owned Amity Music/​One Flight Up Guitars.

Business Owner

Bob Pieper grew up in Connecticut and learned guitar in his early teens. He played the tri-​state club scene in the 1970s and 1980s with a variety of bands, including StarStruck, and was the original guitar player in the 1980s for XYZ. But Bob’s skills go beyond playing, and he built a career designing, building and repairing guitars of all types.
