After my recent experience at this Janie and Jack store, I have very mixed emotions about this brand. I love dressing my three young children in Janie and Jack and have spent a lot of money at their retail stores and online. When I saw that there was an outlet store in Sevierville, I was so excited. The clothing lines in the outlet store are the same as the ones in the retail store, but the full-priced lines are 25% off all the time. Quality in the outlet and retail seems the same to me. Sale items were an additional 5% off lowest marked price. My first experience was a phone order where I called and was able to get an item(not available in my local store or online) shipped to my home. Good experience with the phone order. Then, I visited in person with my husband and kids during a trip to Pigeon Forge. After we left, my husband asked me if I had noticed how the sales associates were watching us really closely to see if we were stealing. I had noticed similar scrutiny. I know the sales associates have no clue about my past purchases at Janie and Jack, but I have spent thousands of dollars on J&J clothing over the past few years so I was a bit put off. Plus, I was outfitted in Tory Burch shoes, Kate Spade bag, etc. and my husband was also nicely dressed — and we were targeted as shoplifters?! I was pretty offended. I have read reviews of similar things happening to people in retail J&J locations so I know this incidence is not specific to me or this store. During my college days, I worked upscale retail and know that theft does occur and you have to be vigilant. However, when numerous shoppers feel under scrutiny, they will eventually take their money elsewhere. Maybe theft at J&J is really common. Either way, corporate should train sales associates to not make shoppers feel like they are suspects. Janie and Jack charges a premium and should treat their customers better!

When our son was born, I immediately fell in love with Janie and Jack’s clothing and style; however, I was far from the love when it came to the price tags. Now, there’s a J&J outlet right here in Tennessee! We were able to get $ 300 worth of adorable clothes for $ 60. You’ll want to buy a just after the season ends and the new stock comes to the outlet, but buy for the beginning of the same season the next year. We bought our infant clothes for 1 year +. The store is merchandised the same as the mainline stores, which makes finding items a bit tough. Sizing is the challenge as to be expected from an outlet center.
