***BEWARE*** This place is an absolute dump. How in God’s name this roach infested place stays is business is beyond me. ANIMAL and HEALTH DEPARTMENT PLEASE INSPECT. Animals look sick and and the staff crooked. To top it off the place smells like a piss bomb. If people continue to buy anything here this will only prompt this dive. Signs posted staying no pictures or video should be a clue as to the conditions they don’t want everyone else to witness. From the baby pig down to the goldfish I truly feel sorry for every animal in here. If the owner has a heart they would get these animals in the right hands, donate the merchandise to Good Will and close this shady business once and for all. You don’t know how to run a business and deserve to be shut down.

These people are liars and they try to make as much money as they can off you. DO NOT GO.

We like to support small local businesses but last time we had issue that made me re-​think wanting to go back there again. We got fish from them before and it was fine. No issues with that. I like that you can find some unique stuff that chain stores don’t offer. Yes, it does smell like pee in there, I dunno why they won’t do anything about it. (but it’s not enough to scare me off) Now you CAN pet animals, they just don’t want you to pick them up. Which is understandable.
Anyhow, the reason why we got disappointed is that my husband got fish tank covers and a light from there, talked to the assistant and they assured him it will fit our fish tank. So turns out it does not fit out tank and guess what?! ALL SALES ARE FINAL! No returns, no exchanges… He was hoping at least to get a store credit cuz we are just setting up a new tank and we need equipment, but the sales person told him that «the mother» (I assume the owner) is not there and nothing they they can do… so now we are stuck with $ 100 worth of stuff that we can’t use!
To edit my review — they worked out our issue which was nice of them, seem like they are trying to please their customers.

Stay away from this place unless you are with Animal Control!!! How or why they are still in business is beyond me. While in the store trying to get some information on Sugar Gliders a bird seller came in with two chicks. Both looked to be on the verge of death. As far as Animal Control they must not know they are in business because this place is way below what one would call a mill!!!

Love this place they have all sorts of cute critters and have a bit of everything. Very nice and fairly clean

Hmmm… I feel a bit bad about writing less than stellar review on occasions such as this one, but I made a sacred oath to be an honest teller so here I go. They have a nice selection of rare birds, but the place smells like piss. Bad. I thought I was over reacting to the smell, due to pregnancy, but after we looked around for a bit, my husband said it stank too. I suspect the odor comes from the janky, threadbare and stained old carpet, not necessarily the animals. It smelled better in the bird room. My husband is the bird expert. He did not think the baby grey parrot (if I am calling it the right thing) looked very well. They also had fish, lizards, a couple puppies, and supplies. I would go back if they changed out the carpet, and deep cleaned the place, and offered better conditions. The staff was nice enough. Maybe management is just a bit misdirected.

I wouldn’t even give this place a 1 star. I found it odd that there are signs every where that say no photography! Now I know why! This place stinks! When was the last time they washed the fish tanks. Did I mention it stinks! They had several birds and monkeys that’s it. This place should be shut down. Don’t waste your time on this disgusting place.

I agree with the other reviewer here, although I CAN speak from first hand experience. This place really ought to be shut down asap! I used to breed parrots and a friend is looking for a congo baby (african grey parrot) so I figured I’d stop in on my trip from PA down to Tennessee to see what their prices were like down south.
From the minute we walked in, I was completely grossed out. This place reeks of urine. There are dirty cages all over the place… one stuck in a corner with cob webs and dirty dishes that had probably been there for months. There was a doberman stuck in the DARK back section, chewing on the plastic bags containing old product that were all over the place. (Nice way for him to get an impaction!)
There were 2 dachshund puppies in cages in the front… one merle and one black and tan. The black and tan one looked so lethargic and depressed, and the little merle was just begging for attention. There are signs everywhere stating you are not allowed to take any pictures (probably because they don’t want their unsanitary conditions posted here!) and that you are not allowed to touch the animals.
The birds in the bird room were in completely filthy, old and rusty cages, stacked on top of each other so that the ones in the bottom didn’t even get much light. Very depressing conditions for such an intelligent creature that needs constant stimulation in order to thrive!
Their prices are way too high, so I’m guessing that these poor animals are stuck in that hell hole for way too long. I was surprised to see that they had 2 marmoset monkeys in a cat cage. When I inquired as to what kind of pets they make, I was told that they make great pets and live 15 – 20 yrs. Interested, I Googled them after I left. Nope… they are very loud, pee and poop on their own hands to improve their grip as part of their natural wild instinct, and become extremely moody and bite hard when they become sexually mature. I wouldn’t say that’s the makings of a great pet. Irresponsible pet stores give bad info, sell these poor wild animals as pets to people who think they look cool, but don’t realize what they are getting into. The purchase of a pet should be a lifetime commitment… not an impulse buy from some crappy pet store that mis-​informs.
Although I wanted to rescue several of the very depressed animals here, I know I can’t save the world. :(Just remember… no matter how bad you feel for one of the animals there, if you purchase one, you’re just supporting this place and they will just replace it with another. So I think I’m on my way to call animal control and report this place…

Avoid this business! The conditions inside are disgusting. The animals are sitting and laying in filth and urine. Many are losing fur and feathers. The smell is sickening. I can’t fathom how they are allowed to remain in business. What they are doing to the animals is criminal!

I drove by this place today, having stopped there years ago, and I’m sorry I decided to give this place another look. The smell was extremely strong, of ammonia and dirty cages. There were two Pekingese puppies at the entrance that had pooped multiple times and there were two girls at the counter texting/​playing on their phones. I’ve been in numerous animal facilities (and worked at vets offices and my local humane society), and while I can’t say it’s cruelty, the conditions of this place was just inexcusable. When I left one of the girls was laying her head on the counter and the other was still on the phone. I will not be going back!
