Robert Certain is a headshot and portrait photographer living in the Baltimore-​Washington metropolitan area. Since beginning his career, he has primarily worked with models and actors to establish the foundation of every model and actor’s portfolio, great headshots. Working with these individuals, he has also created some outstanding commercial and lifestyle images. Highly approachable and likable, Robert connects with his subjects to create great images by drawing out genuine expression that showcase each subject’s unique personality.

Hey everyone!

Growing up, I wanted to be a musician, even going college to perfect my skills, learning the technical aspects of singing and music composition. During that time I sang in multiple performance groups, opened for several recording artists, and even sang at Carnegie Hall. For several years, music was my passion.

Many years later, I discovered a second passion for photography. Starting out as a landscape and travel photographer, I began taking headshots after my wife needed one for an casting call. To my surprise, that first headshot actually landed her on a TV show, with multiple call backs.

Being my biggest supporter, she told anyone who asked that her husband took her headshot. Soon, other models and actors were asking if I was available to shoot them as well. As I started working with them, I found that I really liked the images we created. That’s when I realized I was a headshot and portrait photographer.
