The remarkable true story of General George Washington’s Setauket Spy Ring has come to life in a new outdoor adventure which will take nature enthusiasts, athletes, and history lovers to a whole new level.

Margo Arceri will guide cyclists, walkers and kayakers through the actual trails where the British and Patriots once roamed during the Revolutionary War on Long Island. Those participating will follow in the actual footsteps of the Culper Spy Ring, and along the way historical places of interest will be pointed out and discussed.

There will be three options to choose from: a one day bike, walk kayak tour. The biking adventure will be a fifteen mile trek, and the walking tour a three mile trek. Both options can accommodate up to twenty people.

Established in 2014.

Long Island historian and lifelong Strong’s Neck resident Margo Arceri, is the creator of the ultimate walking, biking and kayaking tour called «Tri-​Spy.» Ms. Arceri developed this unique historical venture in conjunction with the Three Village Historical Society, where she was a former vice president and secretary. Having grown up in Strong’s Neck, Margo spent time with local historian Kate Wheeler Strong, descendant of the famous Anna Smith Strong of the Culper Spy Ring. Kate, who was also the author of a series of booklets entitled True Tales of the Early Days on Long Island, shared stories from the American Revolution and the Battle of Long Island. Margo was instantly hooked, and thus began her own quest to search the hidden trails of Strong’s Neck and Setauket where the British and Patriots once roamed.
