Please note that this is not a review of the actual product, rather it is on the contract installation and subsequent customer service(or lack thereof)…we would give that a ZERO, but not an option on Unilocal. On June 11/12, 2015, we had our Home Depot roof installed. During the install, one of the crew unfortunately fell through a spot of dry rot, and came through the ceiling drywall in our closet(no one was hurt, thankfully). The lead on the crew attempted to fix it by making a large patch, however it was not done very well. After speaking with the local Home Depot Installation Service Manager(HDISM), we indicated that while the roof is fine, we were not satisfied with the patch work that was done, to which we were told he would get someone else out here to work on fixing it. During the week of July 13, two people came one day to work on it, and then again in the evening the next night. During the second visit, they emptied the contents of our closet into our room and on our bed to ensure the clothes and items didn’t get dusty and dirty(which we appreciated). They were not able to finish the job that night because it needed to dry more, so this caused us to sleep in another room which, at the time, we thought it would only be for one night. As they left, they told us another person was going to come the next day(July 15) to either finish, or evaluate whether or not their«fix» was sufficient, and if it wasn’t they would have to come back to redo the entire patch. Well, this person never showed up, nor did he call. On July 20, we finally decided to clean up the mess in the closet, and put the contents back in the closet so we could sleep in our bed again. Needless to say, while that«fix» looked better than it did when the first guy did it, it still wasn’t done. After going back and forth with the local HDISM for over two months, we were told that Home Depot wasn’t going to fix the issue, but rather submit it to their claims company(Sedgwick), and that we would need to get a quote to submit and have the work done ourselves. Nearly 4 months later, it was finally finished. However, during all of that time, we noticed cracking, flaking, and chipping along the peak seam of our vaulted ceiling. We asked the two independent companies that gave us bids for the original repair work in the closet what they thought was causing the seam crack/chipping. Both told us that it was from stress along the peak of the roof, most likely caused by the weight of the roofing materials and/or the way they were staged/stacked onto the roof in preparation for the installation(«subcontractor did not properly distribute the weight of the roof supplies or were too heavy for the roof and caused the interior dry wall to crack along the seams at the ridge line»). We notified the local HDISM, as well as the claims adjuster from Sedgwick of the additional damage to the roof. The HDISM said that it was out of his hands, and the claims adjuster indicated that another claim was to be created to fix this problem. Then on 12÷23÷15, we were informed by the HDISM via«the Claims Supervisor» that«(we) will not report another claim for this matter.(We) will notify the claims examiner to address the additional damages.» As of today, 1÷12÷16, over 7 months later, after another series of self-initiated emails to find out where things stand, the HDISM says that this is «out of(my) realm» and that we need to contact Sedgwick ourselves. We aren’t even sure what to say to this… Other than, it’s been an exercise in patience, to say the least… Moral of THIS story: Shop locally! Steer clear of using HD& their contractors for BIG jobs(roof, floor, etc.), ’cause if something goes wrong with a job out in this neck of the woods, HD doesn’t have the means to back up the work and you’ll be left with having to get it fixed yourself.

Tried to give them an entire home’s worth of flooring business with zero luck. They were very nice in person but took our information down wrong, gave us duplicate paperwork, omitted essential information about the appointment we *thought* we were making(and then insisted they didn’t), mailed documents to the wrong address, and on it went. When I called to try to get everything straightened out, they left me on hold, then hung up on me, then put me back on hold when I called back. I spoke with THREE different people and each one told me something contradictory. Then it took a call back two days later(because no one called me as they said they would) and conversations with two MORE people to get a refund when we decided not to proceed. Bottom line: You can’t make an appointment for a flooring estimate. If I understood correctly, you must wait until the day of, then wait for a call between 7am and 9am, at which point you’ll find out your 4-hour-window for an «appointment.» Even the manager said she couldn’t do anything about this – even when we offered to pay extra and take the first appointment of the day… ANY day! No luck. She said it’s out of their hands because they use a third party for measurements, but c’mon… Asking your customers to set aside a full day for a PAID estimate? And you don’t make this clear upfront? Makes me wonder what the installation process would have been like. We will continue to use Home Depot for smaller purchases – there’s no beating their selection of everyday items – but scheduling services? No, thank you. We will take this job elsewhere.

Had to pick up a few things for my father. A man named Larry assisted me. He was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I was expecting check out to be difficult as our order was, but it was easy and fast.

Seems like they do not stand behind the products if they are defective. The store people are very nice. The corporate«voice on the phone» are avaricious. Luckily there are lots of alternatives for home improvement in Clallam County.

Lot’s of people complain about the Home Depot. Thought I would share a poss experience. Thank you Kelly at the pro desk and Richard in millwork for taking care of me. Don’t need to bore you with the details but I’ll just say, the two of them must of had an easy button in their pocket. Thank you two for making the experience at the Depot a good one! Keep it up.

Home Depot has just about anything a person could ever want. It is a great place if you’re looking for home improvement things, appliances, fixtures, flooring… the list goes on and on. Prices are pretty reasonable but it is difficult to find somebody if you need help. It took about 30 minutes to get a single key made because I had to go to the front to get a person to help me then waited another 20 minutes for the person to show up. I guess what I am saying here is, this isn’t the place to go if you are in a rush.
