One of my favorite Thai restaurants. This place has improved over the years. I can remember first going here way over 5 years ago or so. Very mediocre back in those days, but it has slowly improved over the years. It is a large restaurant, always busy, with a very nice Thai staff. Personally, I don’t think the next door partner sushi restaurant adds anything to it. Still a very good Thai restaurant. I used to say that the Thai House on Rittiman Road was my favorite, but right now, I would have to say they both are very very good.

Food here is impeccable and truly authentic Thai. The best I know of in the San Antonio area. However, this visit, our waitress was extremely rude when I had to repeat myself 3 times on my order.

Sushi is on the pricey side but their Thai curry is my go to. Great spot to go to for the lunch specials and great staff!

The people are extremely friendly and the place looks great, but I can’t say that I was a big fan of the sushi. Compared to other sushi that I’ve had in the past, there wasn’t much flavor there in the California roll and the rainbow roll.

If you have been to Noy’s Bistro, then the red and green curry will disappoint. I put that in perspective and gave them a slightly lower rating. It was OK. My family enjoyed all their meals and my daughter really, really liked their fried rice. My wife got her normal General Tso and gave it a 4. Their sushi was tasty. We will stop here again.

The menu was extensive — pages and pages! I would have liked to peruse it for a while but one of my lunch mates was in a hurry so I had to make a quick choice. I picked the Tempura Box with beef and was not disappointed– fast service, nice presentation, plentiful portion. Had a few pieces of beef that were gristle-y, but the flavor was lovely. My lunch mates both had sushi and were satisfied, especially with the pickled ginger on the side. We had an ample appetizer of edamame, which was delicious and very reasonably priced(just $ 3). The drinks were refilled frequently and the manager was very friendly — he delivers our check. It’s far out of the way for us, but I’d go back if I’m hungry for Thai on that side of town.

It was eh… I read the reviews and expected something more. I was craving something spicy and Thai food usually doesn’t fail. But I ordered the fish patties with curry sauce and I felt like I was eating spam. I couldn’t even tell you about the entrée because I don’t remember it. I was disappointed in my choice by then and was just ready to get about my day.

I have been to this place on multiple occasions. The food is good. However, the service is spotty and inconsistent. Our drink orders would go unfilled for longer than five minutes, or our waitress would disappear when it was time for refills. Sometimes it seemed to take forever for our meal to arrive! Since I am limited in the amount of time I have for lunch, I had to stop going there.

The best Thai food I have ever tasted. I come here often! Spring rolls and green curry are amazing! This place also has some of the best customer service of any place I’ve been too! Would highly recommend this for lunch as well as their prices are very reasonable!

My husband and I have been coming here since we moved to the area and they have always been amazing! The staff at the sushi bar is always super friendly especially when our son is here. They are truely the epitome of great customer service!!! We are faithful and brag about them everywhere we go. The sushi chefs are incredibly nice and make the best sushi I’ve ever eaten!!!

I usually have great things to say about this place but this evening I went in to get a sushi tower(2) and four hand rolls and my total was $ 58 bucks. Not to mention that is a complete rip off 4×7 is 28 plus 8×2 is 16 that equals $ 44 the guy said the price was right which it is not. To make matters worse The roll barely had any spicy tuna in it and the tuna tower had mango no sauce on the tuna and it tasted old. Not very happy at all as I have been here several times and never had to deal with this. I will not be returning anytime soon. The customer service was also one star.

There’s a reason why this place was packed during lunch time. Tasty Thai dishes and sushi. Looking forward to exploring the menu more. The curry is very flavorful. The portions are large for lunch specials. Will be back!

I tried again thinking what the hey!!! Opted for the red curry… it was greasy, runny and flavorless, it should be creamy :-(I had to add salt ewww, red curry should be exploding with flavor!!! Now that I remember the only thing remotely decent here is the chicken and rice soup… only plus it came out hot & with a slight kick… but the chicken to me was overcooked. The white rice was was cooked to perfection(yay) .this place looks and feels authentic but lacking true flavor,(same goes for the Spring Rolls, Pad Thai) not sure if I am just used to Bangkok 54 but even the Thai HUT restaurant off TPC didn’t look authentic but all means it had a really good Red Curry… I mean the reviews on here are so good… but it’s mostly about the sushi rolls and pad Thai… which to me is really bland… I really won’t come here again.

The Tokyo roll was very delicious. Their Pad Thai is on the sweeter side which was different but I found it better tasting than the usual Pad Thai’s I had tried before. Came on a Friday night, not too busy but the food took about 20 – 25 minutes to come out.

I’m updating my review because ThaiSpice definitely deserves it! My husband and I ordered chicken pad thai, spicy California roll, and #34(paht krapow) with chicken, medium spicy. EVERYTHING was so flavorful. It was the best I have had in a long time and blew Thai Café and other sushi places out of the water. We will definitely be back.

In town visiting from Houston and the family wanted to eat boring old chain fast food so I decided to give this place a try. I was pleasantly surprised! Located around several other shops and restaurants, this restaurant is the place for Good Asian food. They have a big menu and good lunch specials! They also have sushi and vegetarian options too. I had the yellow curry with tofu and mixed vegetables. I like how you can choose your protein with each meal. I ordered to go and the food came out fresh. Service was friendly. Huge portions! This is a great restaurant with decently priced menu. I would be back if I lived here!

Upon entering, you are greeted and sat by the owner. There are many lunch specials, and you can order off the lunch specials from the sushi bar next door and they will bring it to your table here. Besides sushi rolls, the sushi side has plenty of interesting hot curries and grilled meat dishes. I found this to be real authentic thai, especially the employees. I ordered the Pad woonsen, which are thin rice noodles, tomatoes, eggs, chicken and other vegetables. In general, I found this dish mediocre for reasons I’ll list below. Portions are huge here, and I can’t wait to make my way down the menu, including the sushi side. I found the flavors here so far to not pop and taste the same throughout the dish. I will try a curry next, or something with a gravy – even if that is a Chinese dish. Regarding flavor and portion size, I found the flavors to be phenomenal at Siam Cuisine in Schertz; however, because of the meager portions, I’ll never go there again. You are well fed here at Thai Spice, and I have definitely found a new place to dine. eats: — Pad woonsen with chicken lunch special $ 7.85. — Thai spring roll: light, crispy and delicious — chicken soup with ground chicken, rice and cilantro. Deep flavorful broth, lightly salted, no msg, hint of tartness from the cilantro, and perfectly spiced with black pepper. This soup was the highlight of my meal. — The pad woonsen was good but not great. It just lacked any distinct flavors. PF Changs pad Thai tasted better to me. I think one of the problems is the chicken was preboiled and just warmed over. There was no carmelization from the wok. That chicken actually detracted the flavors from the stirfried noodles. I would try beef or shrimp stir fry next, but I fear they treat all their proteins the same way. So, to find that flavor I’m looking for, I’ll try a curry next or something with a sauce. — fried rice was jasmine type and was just so so, kinda dry, lacked flavor crumbs: — huge portions — first class service, everyone backs each other up, everyone welcomes and says good by to everyone. — chicken soup is outstanding. I can’t wait to try their other soups and sushi rolls. — you can order sushi from the sushi side of the restaurant, and they will deliver it to you. — spicy fish sauce and orange sweet sauce on table.

Out of this World~ and that’s just Apps… Entered a Thai sushi Joint that I’ve been dying to try for almost 6 months now before my friend’s Super Bowl party thinking Chicken Satay would be nice for a Super Bowl Treat. I was warmly greeted by Mr. Willis and the staff behind the bar making sushi. It was still lunch so I just grabbed the Chicken Satay as to not spoil my tummy for the party. I browsed the extensive menu and knew immediately that I’d return soon to grab an actual meal. The place was cute and conveniently located within the Forum shopping center. My chicken came out quickly so I decided to taste the fragrant, ever so succulent chicken. The first bite had me salivating and I kept my eyes closed to savor the moment. The chicken was so juicy I needed my eyes closed to control my senses. The peanut sauce was an added treat as was the delicious cucumber salad. While I waited I also decided to try the Crispy Thai spring rolls that crunched with every bite. I have traveled the world in the military and this was as authentic and delicious as I could get, definitely the best I’ve had in San Antonio~ I can’t wait to RETURN ~

The place was packed at 12:44. A good sign. I headed to the sushi side and the waiter came right over. Very friendly staff. The miso soup was packed with seaweed and tofu. A little salty but hot and tasty. I ordered the special. Tempura Alaskan Roll — Salmon, shrimp, jalapeño(not sure this is Alaskan! Lol), avocado and fish eggs. Topped with eel sauce, spicy mayo, sriracha, and wasabi mayo. The roll was huge. I could only eat half. Priced at $ 16– You could for sure share it. Only real complaint is the dirty menus. It’s a pet peeve. They were laminated paper and had smudges and dirt on them. Felt so icky, I hand sanitized my little fingers after handling. I think menus should be taken care of and well designed. They are my first impression before the food comes. I will be back!
