Excellent food. Very nice place and people. Love it.

Extremely unsanitary used to be a frequent customer until I witnessed some disgusting things I’d rather not repeat also came here for large event around 30 people called weeks ahead I get there and still had to wait around 40 mins then they didn’t explain how the drinks worked with pasta night so we were extremely over charged and when it came to dessert they automatically put them in Togo containers kicking us out meanwhile we still had a half hour left of the time they gave us this place deserves zero stars and I’ll make sure everyone I know never comes into this establishment extremely dirty, horrible staff, and in need of new management

Pizza is ok. I went here because it was hyped and seemed to be a Selden favorite. The dine in area was crowded, with families and older people on a Saturday night. However, I was very disappointed in the pizza. It’s just ok and the crust is a little too thick and doughy for my taste. The sauce is not memorable at all. The cheese also tasted frozen and not fresh or imported. I ordered a pepperoni pizza and it was not worth of a repeat. Tried it and I can say there are stronger pizza selections around. It was about $ 2(10%)more expensive than almost any other pizzeria around for a similar pie. Maybe their Italian dishes are stronger, but as their pizza was not memorable at all, I’m not willing to give it another try.

My aunt took me here for lunch recently. Very nice décor and excellent employees. The lunch portions were just right. I would love to come back here for dinner soon.

It’s been awhile since my initial review figured it’s time for an update. Since we have been here before we decide to stop after a long day of running around instead of take out we decided to sit & eat. Once seated they start u off with some Garlic knots, they really are very good nice & warm great way to begin our meal. Garlic knots are covered in garlic, cheese & butter so bad for u but so good hard to put down & not get more. Drinks no liquor had an Iced tea & Ginger ale not bad. Main dishes I went with the Shrimp scampi, pasta & mix green salad. My friend had the Chicken francese, pasta & Caesar. Salad’s came out first, I had my salad w the home made vinaigrette dressing pretty good. My friend had the Caesar good as well. Main dishes arrived my Shrimp scampi I thought would come over the pasta not the case pasta comes on the side in a light garlic & oil sauce, Shrimp was not bad although not toped with breadcrumbs like its supposed to be. My friends Chicken francese was the same pasta on the side they give u 3 decent size pieces of the chicken taste wise it was ok lacked lemon flavor it was also a bit bland. The place itself is a good size, take out section right up front by the pizza, small seating area & bar area. Service was good our waiter was nice & attentive, prices are decent.

5 stars for the pizza. All of their specialty slices are awesome. I have only dined in a couple of times and their entrees are alright. This review is strictly for their pizza — it’s worth going in and ordering a slice — there are plenty of options to choose from and all are delicious. The place itself is very nicely kept with modern décor. It gets very hectic in there around dinner time-somewhat chaotic but still worth it.

If I could give this place a hundred stars, I would. The food is amazing – especially the garlic knots!!! The service is always quick and friendly. Wish there were more of these!

This is the 2 of the 3 branch of the famous o Sol mio in stony Brook. While food is I would say 90% similar to o Sol mio — the service is definitely not. The stony Brook location takes the prize.

We just got back from dinner here. The waitress was friendly and helpful, but the food left much to be desired. We started off with«garlic bread» — it was dense and doughy(it was slightly reminiscent of pretzel dough) and seemed slightly undercooked, with what tasted like fake liquid butter(soybean oil) poured over it. Next came a caprese salad appetizer. It was the best part of the meal, even though there was too much balsamic vinegar on it. Then two house salads, one with balsamic dressing that was too acidic, and the other with«creamy Italian» dressing that was bland and pink and tasted suspiciously like Russian dressing. The entrees: chicken francese — tough, too thick, in a bland sauce. Penne carbonara — in a bland sauce that tasted watered down. Even the bacon in it didn’t help much. Tilapia della casa(with tomatoes and asparagus) in a meh marinara sauce. The key word here was bland. We saw a great-looking chocolate cake on the way in, but decided against ordering it for dessert in case it was somehow bland too. Based on what came before, I was afraid it might taste like flour with Nestle’s Quik in it. We’ve had their pizza before — it’s not bad, but no better than anyone else’s. I can’t really recommend it.

Great place to go for a nice Italian dinner like the one Momma used to make. I have patronized this establishment often over the years and the food is generally consistently good. The menu is very vast. You will find something for everyone. The portions are huge, and the service is awesome. Especially Victoria. She is terrific. Great place to go eat but not to sit and eat quietly. It is always busy and sometimes very loud. So don’t go there if you want to get to know your blind date. But if the date isn’t going well, you will not have to try to hard to never hear a thing she says! For a great meal, I highly recommend Café Amici. Bön Appettito

Service is OK for dine in. Sometimes I have felt neglected even with a large party. But the bus guys always clean up quickly and neatly. During lunch the guy at the counter moves quick but it’s a little intense, lots to choose from, little time. But I guess that’s them trying to be timely. Which is understandable!

This spot makes great pizza, which is saying something because Long Island is packed with quality pizza spots. They’re easily among the top 5 best pizzerias on the island. This review is strictly based on their pizzeria, not the dine-in restaurant. Their regular pizza slices are excellent. They have the best garlic knots I’ve ever had. Most importantly, they’re consistent; you know exactly what you’re gonna get when you go there. There are some downsides, though. If you’re looking to sit down and eat, be wary –their seating availability is limited, especially when it’s busy. You’re taking a gamble if you’re expecting to eat there. It’s so bad I’ll only get pizza from there to go. The place gets extremely busy, which is annoying to deal with due to their layout. So not only is it hard to find an open table, you also have to go through a labyrinth of people to get to the counter to order. Also, relative to other pizza places, all of their stuff is expensive. They provide a quality product, but it’s gonna cost you.

Amazing. The 5 Star Rating is well deserved as Café Amici catered our Christmas Eve,(as well as about 300+long island families). Requested the order for pick up at 3:30. Place was a zoo. Of course it was, the food is delicious! The staff was organized, helpful, transparent, and it was nice watching them working well together with their customers. Our order was checked, and ready to go at 3:40, I was impressed. I felt though, how good could the quality really be with the significance amount of orders going through the doors. Well, to mine, and our guests suprise, the food was phenomenal. I mean, as if they spent all day just cooking for 2 people. Everybody complimented the food, it was piping hot, and we were lucky to have leftovers the next few days. Looking fwd to having Café Amici cater our next family gathering!

Caffe Amici is a staple for that Independence Plaza. Whether you have to wait for your kid to finish dance class, or waiting for your glasses to be done at the eye doctors next door, its always a decent place to eat while waiting… As soon as you sit down in the dining area they plant these garlic knots on the table with this buttery/garlic sauce drizzled on top of all of them then sprinkled with Parmesan cheese. They honestly are the best garlic knots I’ve ever tasted in my entire life. Any Garlic knot fanatics out there need to experience these knots. Tonight I had ordered the seafood tortellini special. It was seafood stuffed tortellini in a pink cream sauce with crushed red pepper with shrimp and scallops. A pretty hearty dish. The tortellini was cooked to perfection, the sauce was plentiful. The scallops were cooked well. It was all scrumptious. Not to mention being that it was a dinner special, it comes with a side of soup or salad. I went with there Italian wedding soup. The staff here always seem to be hustling around. You can actually catch them bumping into one another. It is nice to see some hustle in a establishment. The décor is tasteful. Very subtle yet still decorated nicely. You do seem to sit fairly close to others which is someone strange, but I honestly thing that is some Italian dinning thing. Overall experience was great. I wouldn’t mind stopping in on another night.

Ehhhhh really?. We sat and ate here tonight; and as we walked by the pizza and into the nicely set atmosphere and decorum of the restaurant,(judging by the pizza and appearance) I was ready to be pleasantly surprised. Immediately greeted and brought some very yummy garlic and butter soaked rolls we dug in. Later I realized this was the best part of the meal. To start the waitress and busboy both forgot to bring me water, and once I got that it was time to order; this process was daunting for some and here is why: a friend had ordered what was clearly marked on the menu as coming with soup or salad and a vegetable, this apparently according to the waitress was not the case(WRONG) Strike two was when my soup, instead of coming out with the salad came out at the same time as my meal; which later resulted in the waitress taking the soup away from me, spoon in hand as she started cleaning the table and packing things up(this was not taken to go.) In fact! when the soup came late and I made a joke about it, the waitress says«it’s alright»… now I’m not sure but I don’t remember her complaining and me asking her if I can do anything to make this situation better… oh wait, that’s her job. Throughout the meal I was happy to be reassured that dinner was good and things were alright… was she serious? I know there are only 3 strikes in baseball but here there are more– Italian food has flavor, Italian food is the most satisfying food available… but not at this place; The sauce if you can call it that was a watery, bland mistake. A consistent mistake though, both the Alfredo and Vodka sauces were lacking in texture and flavor. … AND when I got back from visiting Niagara Falls in May, I said it was nice but, I don’t need to ever go back… apparently I decided to visit tonight; by the end of the meal waterfalls started pouring down from two light fixtures, splashing behind our table and misting us as we payed the moderately priced bill. We looked back at this completely unsafe light which I myself don’t consider a big deal on this rainy miserable day, and we saw a spark or two… completely unsafe I suppose, they did apologize but, the night was a wash long before the showers. ** I was a bit harsh in my review and this place wasn’t bad, but it certainly wasn’t good… and I am a bit shocked how well this place has been voted, maybe more people are impressed with the façade than I am. I actually appreciate real substance, that’s just me though

I don’t know why anyone goes anywhere else– best pizza in the area! You have to try their garlic knots, soft and drenched in garlic cheesy butter. Pasta nights are Monday and Tuesday and it’s an amazing deal.

I came to this restaurant on a business trip because of a recommendation from a local. I’ll have to say that I’ll be back when I return to the area again. I was not expecting much when I arrived because the restaurant is in a strip mall, is really large, and has a chain-like ambience. But as soon as I sat down at the bar, I was welcomed by a lovely and warm bartender who made my whole meal alone such a pleasure. Soon, others at the bar were imitating her energy, and I had some great conversations while I enjoyed my dinner. It’s a friendly and fun place. While the food is a bargain compared to other similar options — especially on pasta night where I received easily 2 – 3 portions of pasta, wine, salad and dessert for $ 14.99 — the quality of the food is not compromised by such a steal. I wasn’t too much of a fan of the iceberg lettuce salad(charge me $ 15.99 and use real lettuce), but the pasta was absolutely amazing. I chose the pasta with sausage and shrimp in olive oil. And the garlic knots — one of the most memorable food treats of 2015. I swore I would eat only one, and I ate 3. I couldn’t help it. When I left, I carried with me enough food for the next day’s dinner, but also lots of good conversations and memories of delicious food.
