Alternative to Meds Center has a team of medical professionals providing medically supervised rehabilitation programs, orthomolecular medicine, neurotoxin removal, alternatives to psychiatry, and a multitude of additional services that are customized for the individual needs for each client. Our customized treatment plans are alternative to the 12 steps and set us apart from other treatment centers. We have handled many cases that previously were not able to be helped by traditional 12 step or detoxification programs. Insurance accepted.
History
Established in 2006.
The founder of Alternative to Meds Center (ATMC), Lyle Murphy, was inspired to create this program after he had been given anti-psychotic medication during a «manic» episode.
The cause of his manic episode turned out to be hypoglycemia, and after being prescribed antipsychotics, he digressed into a low blood sugar coma that went on for two weeks. When he regained consciousness, he experienced psychosis and was impaired to some degree for 10 years. He was only able to achieve a full recovery when he came across some of the supplementation and detoxification techniques which are used by Alternative to Meds Center today.
ATMC now includes a professional staff of over 40 people. Lyle Murphy is the spokesman for Alternative to Meds Center and he also assists in the direction of specific detoxification techniques for each client. He teaches at the center, and has provided lectures at leading holistic health conferences all over the county.
