At a very young age Gina Petruzzelli and Dilian Sarmiento both realized their passion for baking and creating beautiful desserts. As their friendship grew, so did their dreams of opening up a bakeshop, Sweet & Flour.

I received a Sweet and Flour cookie from a baby shower and the cookie was Ah-​mazing! It was very tasty and very moist on the inside, which surprised me. I would recommend this place.

Their chocolate chip cookies are positively sinful. My husband and I go at least twice a week to purchase her cookies. I have ordered two birthday cakes from Gina in the past and they were both equally amazing! She takes the time to discuss exactly what you want and is very sweet and considerate. I have taken many of her alfajores and sugar cookies to different work events for my co-​workers and they can’t stop raving about it. I just wish she opened just a little earlier so I can go and have breakfast there every morning before I take my morning bus from Secaucus to NY!!! I can’t wait to go back.

We are very pleased with our experience using Sweet & Flour for our son’s first birthday cake. Their customer service is superior to a number of bakeries with whom we interacted. Even though we were somewhat of a last minute order, Gina took her time to meet with me, discuss flavor and decoration options, and recommend what she felt would work best (for both decoration and flavor).
We received many compliments-​they created a blueberry compote (not part of the menu) that turned out well, the cake was perfectly soft, and the frosting is not terribly sweet-​which we much prefer. For a custom cake, the price was also reasonable. Will definitely be using them again.

They are amazing! They made cherry blossom cake balls and Kokeshi cake pops for my daughter’s 1st birthday last year and they were a hit! They also made a strawberries and cream birthday cake for my mom’s 50th that is by far the freshest and tastes I’ve tasted in a very long time. Can’t wait to place more orders!

Quaint little bakery shop nestled in the peaceful town of Secaucus. Folks are warm and welcoming. Tried the Mini Cupcakes and Cheese Danish recently. Cheese Danish was spot on with a nice flaky crust and apt sweetness. Cupcakes though good, were a tad dry. Prices not too bad either.
Would definitely try again in future.

I have ordered from Gina several times and each time I come back simply because her cakes are delicious and designs are amazing… Very talented. She recently did 3 cakes and cakes pops for my son’s Sesame Street party, you would think under all the fondant there is no way it would taste good… It was delicious and oh so moist, every single cake was great. My guests were raving, not to mention they were beautiful cakes. She’s definitely my go to person for cakes, I have not been disappointed and neither will you !

I ordered my daughter’s baptism cake here and was really impressed. The décor on the cake was beautiful and everyone loved the pumpkin cake and cream cheese icing.

Amazing bakery and even better customer service. I just left our regular bakery that we ordered from for over 7 years and decided to try Sweet & flour. I was not disappointed, Gina was able to make a birthday cake with one day notice and she was so super nice. The cake was so delicious and the butter cream was absolutely perfect, not overwhelmingly sweet like traditional birthday cakes. The cake didn’t stand a chance, it was all gone in minutes! Im so happy we ordered, and already thinking of the next occasion to order. Thanks sweet & flour

Called the bakery at 10am on a Sunday morning needing a birthday cake, which they were able to put together for me in less than an hour. Even if the cake was so-​so, I appreciated the quick turnaround. The cake was delicious! Chocolate cake, chocolate buttercream frosting. There ended up being multiple birthday cakes at the party I brought it to, and this was everyone’s favorite!

Nice little corner bakery. Inside is nicely decorated.
Chocolate chip cookie (4.5) was very good. Not too thick or too thin, just right.
The banana bread (4) was also very good although it was darker then what I’m used to seeing.
Then we tried a cupcake (4). They were small but that’s one of the trends for cupcakes –small. My wife liked it but still prefers mr. Cupcakes.
And lastly I ordered an (2) alfajor. I asked the girl where it was from and she didn’t know. In the world of alfajores I know of two kinds– From Peru and Argentina. It was definitely not from Peru and it was thick like the ones from Argentina. Regardless of where it was from, I didn’t enjoy it. The dulce de leche was overpowered by the amount of cookie that it’s sandwiched with.

OMG! We literally wiped out a 6-​pack of mini cupcakes within minutes of leaving this cute, little shop. We read Unilocal reviews and decided to stop in to pick up a housewarming dessert while on our way. Amazing! Red velvet and Canoli were our faves. Definitely stopping in here the next time we visit!

I hope this bakery sticks around for a long time! The designs are adorable, and the staff is so friendly and helpful! I placed an order for my boss to have cupcakes delivered as a thank you. They were super helpful, and went above and beyond in helping put together my order. I highly recommend this bakery. Also look at their cookies– THEY ARE SO CUTE.

Amazing bakery! The staff is very friendly. My number one thing is the apple turnovers and mini cheesecakes. I bought a Christmas cake and my entire family loved it. I’m definitely buying my wedding cake at Sweet and flour.

Wonderful bakery that I highly recommend! Both the owners and staff are very friendly and have great customer service. Everything I get from this bakery is always fresh and so delicious! My favorites are the mini cupcakes and the cakepops (they always have the most adorable cakepops!). The custom cakes are always so nicely done with amazing attention to detail. I highly recommend this bakery! Gina is so wonderful to work with. She made a groom’s cake for my wedding and very recently made me an amazing birthday cake. Everything was fresh and delicious. From now on, all my specialty cakes will be from here!
