Courtyard Secaucus Meadowlands

Does not look that great from the outside but inside it is very well kept. The desk staff are extremely professional and friendly and will do whatever they can to make you happy I would certainly stay here again

The reason I give 2 stars is because of the friendliness of the front desk staff. But Whoever «cleaned» this room last didn’t bother to wipe the hand prints off the window, the coffee machine is not plugged in and dusty like it hasn’t been touched in weeks, the coffee bags sloppily thrown in the basket, long black hair on my (clean??) white shower towels… Come ON people! Then I go to the front desk expecting a complimentary water bottle for being a Marriott rewards member… To find out there’s basically no benefit to being a member here. Ok I’ll buy the 5 $ water. Is New Jersey in a drought?! Didn’t think so. Give me a reason to give you my business, please.

The Courtyard hotel was pretty much what you expect. A nice clean hotel with modern décor. The staff was friendly and willing to assist with all of your needs. The only negative is that housekeeping did not arrive to clean out room till about 4pm on a couple of days. Otherwise, a very nice experience.

This is the best Courtyard I have been to in a long time.

I only got to spend six short hours in the bed, but I did get a ton of work done.

This hotel combines great service, exceptional help, and makes your stay so much more enjoyable and worry free. I have to give a shout out to the manager and his desk crew. Such wonderful people, why would I go anywhere else.

The staff here is incredible. They go the extra mile to make sure you have a great experience. The rooms are always spotless as is the rest of the hotel. Great place to stay if you are travelling on business b/​c they make sure that your experience at the hotel makes your life on the road as easy as possible. You can order «room service» from Carrabbas or Outback and charge it to your room. They will even bring you a drink :)
My only complaint is that there are a few rooms in the back that I find noisy. They overlook the Outback trash and when Outback empties their bottles late at night, it’s noisy.

I used to stay on another Courtyard location in NJ until we moved to Secaucus, so I expected similar experience in this property. Hotel staff was always very courteous and helpful, with information for visitors, allowing early check-​in when it is possible (in my case, some good lead time before 3:00p) and quick. Room I stayed was very neat, comfortable, not issues at all, good size, refrigerator and TV.
This hotel is within walking distance of NJ Transit 320 bus line to NYC (it is on the corner), Walmart, Starbucks, Buffalo Wild Wings, Red Robin burger, PetSmart, Chipotle, Paradise Burger and several other business in Harmon Meadow, so we don’t need to get a car and or taxis even to reach JFK airport (providing you know way around NYC subway) which saves a good money. There is an Outback just on lobby level, which is helpful on rainy days.
I did not have any issue getting free internet access, just set WiFi network, agree with terms in the browser and you are done, no clerk asking for passwords back and forth.
Rooms are quiet even front ones facing Harmon Meadow blvd and you get in and out quickly, no slow elevator. It seems to me property manager is on the running the hotel with very good staff. Pricing is similar to what you get in New Jersey nearby NYC.

Decent hotel for business trips. the room set up is basic and not that interesting. thats why its not a long stay type of plce. the bistro downstairs is cool but no complimentary breakfast which is pretty sucky since like every hotel other hotel around has it. other than that decent spot

Kathy, the night manager needs some customer service training. Booked a room with one bed on
and wanted to switch to a room with two beds. Even though there were plenty of two bed rooms Kathy said it was impossible to change, even if I paid extra for it. She refused to even try and said that I would have to contact Expedia to change my entire reservation. Really? Never had that kind of inflexibility with a respected hotel chain.

I’m very loyal to the Marriott brand. Wouldn’t recommend this courtyard. Staff was very friendly and helpfulness, property needs some updates but what I could not stand was the lack of hot water! Took forever to get hot water for a shower and didn’t stay hot for long.

Internet is slower than dial-​up at this hotel. I have talked to management about this numerous times.
Seems to fall on deaf ears. Management told me
1meg is acceptable speed. You need 4meg to buffer streaming, What planet are these guys from.
Time to vote with my wallet and stay with Hilton.

I’ve stayed quite a few times this year. I do lots of business trip in NJ, and I like being close enough to NYC. This hotel allows me just that. There is a bus stop just a few dozen steps outside the hotel (just across the street), and you just wait for bus #320, and during non-​rush hours, you could be in NYC within 20 minutes.
About the hotel, I’ve never had any problem with my accommodation. During my last visit, we took the redeye flight, and arrived at the hotel around 730am. They kindly checked us in and allowed us to start using our room without extra charge.
There is also a shuttle van that I was able to use to take my family from the hotel to Secaucus Junction Train Station. As far as car parking, there is a parking structure right outside the hotel and I felt very safe. That’s really it. I would highly recommend this hotel if you’re a no non-​sense kind of a person.

Stayed at this hotel during a trip to NYC. It’s a good location that has low rates for a hotel close to the city. They recently had a remodel so it’s more modern now. The staff and maids are friendly and knowledgeable. The wi-​fi is fast and actually works. Rooms are clean most of the time. The only thing that’s missing is free breakfast in the morning. But, don’t worry, there is a nice little plaza in walking distance from the hotel with tons of breakfast options (see some of my other reviews).

The accommodations were nice. The staff was clueless.

If you want to stay at a place that constantly has a rat problem then Go right ahead!!! This place is terrible! The staff is horrendous they don’t even know what they are doing half the time, management is a complete joke! And the place is just dirty. Oh and in the summer time there is a real problem with the roaches ! They are literally everywhere !!! Please save your money and do not stay here ! P. s this hotel is invested with bed bugs ! You will walk out of there with bites all over your body !

In need of an update. Some parts for little rough. However I imagine this whole area gets a lot of use Meadowlands being so close.

I’m going to review through a list of pros and cons:
Pros
1 — Quiet rooms. Not really on a main road
2 — Thick curtains in the rooms blocking out light from outside
3 — Fast and friendly check-​in service. It looks like management really cares about customer satisfaction
4 — computer and printer to print out boarding passes — a godsend!
5 — good water pressure and warm showers
6 — small corner shop downstairs for snacks and drinks
7 — massive 24 hour Walmart just 5 minutes walk down the road
Cons
1 — slightly pricey at $ 169 for a Friday night?
2 — can be a pain to get to/​from depending on your objective. Apparently there is a bus that goes to somewhere in Manhattan frequently — but for anywhere else, please double check to see if this hotel is convenient
3 — Wifi was slow in the evenings
4 — Taxi ride from Newark Airport came to $ 60 including tips

The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because in the middle of my trip for work I moved here from the horrible Embassy Suites across the way. If it was based on the average hotel it would have gotten 2 stars.
Good
1. The staff here is nice.
2. The rooms are clean
The things that need work
1. The lobby and breakfast area is smooshed… it is much too tight.
2. The creepy parking lot they share with the Embassy Suites, that smelled of garbage and sour milk… nice
3. The breakfast menu is limited and the fruit is mooshy and not fresh
4. Every time I got in the elevator I though it was going to break it is soo unbelievably slow…
4. The hallways looked used and abused.
I would come here again if my choice was the Embassy Suites or the Courtyard I would take the Courtyard…

The staff here is SUPER NICE. I wish they had free coffee and tea in the morning but that’s a minor flaw. Another little thing is that the elevator is SO SLOW. But very comfortable.

Stayed here many times for work. Its what you expect from a Marriot Courtyard nothing to write home about.
It is located near many restaurants within walking distance. Also there is a bus stop that takes you into NYC (10 minutes maybe) right outside the hotel.
