History
Established in 2002.
The Uncarved Block, Sonoma County’s premier Rock and Mineral shop/Grateful Dead Memorabilia Haven, first opened its door in 2002 at its original Santa Rosa location. As we grew, we found a bigger space just to the west in Sebastopol, CA where we now have our shop at 112 N Main St. We’ve got tons of Grateful Dead collectibles from drinking glasses and stickers all the way to show posters, blotter art, and original artwork by Jerry Garcia. Also worth noting is a refrigerator that was once owned by Jerry Garcia himself! Drop by and check out what we’ve got. Crystals and rocks galore. From obsidian, fossils and petrified wood all the way to Selenite wands, Tourmalines, Tanzanites, Large Amethyst Geodes, an exceptional Thumbnail display with various fine minerals specimens, and much more! please come have a look, you won’t be dissappointed you stopped in!
Meet the Business Owner
Pu Tzu.
Business Owner
Pu Tzu, the owner of the Uncarved Block, has spent most of his life doing what he loves–
traveling the world in search of treasure! Fascinated by rocks and minerals since a young age, he soon found himself chasing them all over the world! Pu Tzu makes regular trips to Asia and Africa in search of rare, unusual, and just plain cool rocks and minerals! The goal is to go out and hunt down all the treasure he can find in an effort to bring it back and share it with those close to home! There’s always something new to come here at the Uncarved Block, and this is the man who makes it possible! Recent trips to Madagascar and Namibia have rendered treasures like Amethysts from Brandberg, Aquamarine from the Erongo Region, a unique Morganite specimen from Madagascar in the Sahatanny Valley, and a newly discovered mineral also from Madagascar. So many treasures are out there are just waiting to be collected! Pu Tzu has made it his goal to get as many as he can to share with the world.
