History

Established in 1995.

Synergy Solar has been serving Sonoma County for over 20 years. Co-​owners Michael Pane and Jeff Mathias are both contractors, involved in the day to day activities of all our projects. As a company we focus on lowering the carbon footprint of every customer we serve, saving both money and the earth. We give back to local schools through our Community Fundraising Program too.

Business Owner

Jeff ‘s primary responsibilities are sales consulting, solar system design, office management, customer service, and project management. Along with his knowledge of business and sales Jeff brings his passion for the environment and commitment to building community to Synergy Solar. C46 contractor and NAPCEP certified.

Michael’s primary responsibilities include Electrical Design, Installation Management and Warehouse Management. Michael is committed to customer satisfaction and brings attention to detail to all of Synergy’s projects. He emphasizes the team approach when working together with his crew and customers to maintain a healthy working environment while providing a top quality product. C10 contractor and NAPCEP certified.

We spent a fair amount of time researching solar energy and quite a few solar companies. We used Solar Sonoma Co Clean Energy Advocate program. Geoff at SSCEA was supportive and helpful. Based on our needs he gave us three local vendors who used local and US made products to choose from We ended up narrowing it down to two local solar companies. Both were very helpful with answering all of my questions. When it came down to it, we choose a company that made themselves accessible and honest. In the end we went with Synergy.
Not only is Jeff incredibly knowledgeable, about all things Solar, he is the owner not a Sales Person working on commission. Furthermore Jeff is highly involved with solar energy in both the county and the state. We liked their methodology and product set they used.
Mike is the other owner and in charge of the installation process itself. He too is knowledgeable, professional, EXTREMELY responsive!
In addition, they were willing to work with us to get the best layout of the solar panels as well as the power panel change we needed. Chaz and Micheal did a professional install which was clean and the panel placement on our roof was not tacky looking at all! Furthermore the work they did with the electric panel replacement was TOP NOTCH.
During the install they were not instursive to our family and kept us informed from start to finish!
Without a doubt, I would recommend Synergy to anyone thinking about solar.

I just completed my 2nd solar installation with Synergy Solar in Bodega Bay. I had the first system installed by them 2 years ago after receiving several quotes and selecting Synergy based on price, professionalism, quality, and references. They exceeded my expectations: Jeff Mathias came to my HOA meeting to help overcome any objections. Now 2 years after the installation they are responsive to any questions that come up and the system works flawlessly.
When I was ready to do my 2nd Bodega Bay project recently they were the obvious choice. This time I applied for the SCEIP loan and they handled all the logistics and paperwork for me and again Jeff came to the HOA meeting to advocate on my behalf. They even included an EV charger installation at no extra cost.
I was out of the country when installation was scheduled and they did a super job in my absence.
I can’t say enough about the professionalism of the whole team. You don’t often find this level of expertise combined with the highest level of ethics these days.
From my experience doing solar projects right can be tricky so make sure you find someone really competent like Synergy and don’t focus on getting the lowest bid.

Synergy Solar recently installed a system in our home, and we couldn’t be more satisfied with our choice of company. Although we planned to get more than one estimate, we were so impressed by co-​owner Jeff Mathias’s initial presentation that we saw no need to look further. Some of the factors that sold us immediately on this company: they are a local business, they use the same very competent crew for all of their jobs, they purchase solar panels made in the U.S., and they consider esthetics as well as functionality when designing a system.
At every stage of our job, steps were clearly explained, the owners were incredibly responsive to our questions, and co-​owner and electrician Mike led an outstanding installation crew. All of the details were handled in a timely manner, including city approvals and permits, communications with PG&E to switch our metering and system accounting, and establishing an account in our name to monitor the solar production. There was never a question that Jeff and Mike had not already anticipated on our behalf, and answered patiently and thoroughly.
We can’t imagine any solar company providing better service than Synergy, and recommend them very highly!

We just had our solar installation completed by Synergy.
We initially had them out for a quote a year ago but they discovered some roof issues that first needed to be fixed. Jeff from Synergy suggested a roofer who did a fantastic job on the roof.
So this year, we went ahead with solar. Jeff and Mike really are experts and made us very comfortable with the technology. Their proposal scoped out exactly what we would need and they explained everything very clearly and even came out a second time to clarify things. Jeff told us it would take at least a month to get us installed but they got the panels fast and were able to squeeze us in to their schedule within a couple of weeks.
They did a seamless job with the installation. The panels looks great and they did a good job cleaning up things.
One really cool thing is the system connects via wi-​fi with a website that shows how much is produced real-​time. Amazing how much is produced in mid-​October when the sun already low. Even cooler is that our panels will cover our entire electric bill for the year and that we are helping the environment.

Synergy is a really well run and long-​time established local business. I used SCEIP and was hand held by Michelle through that process. Michael, Chas, and Marvin did really clean, quality work. There is a certain look to well planned and executed projects like this and this is CLEAN and PROFESSIONAL. Jeff, who bid the job, met or exceeded all aspects of the contract. New install so can’t quite speak to reliability and I am confident if any issues arise Synergy will deliver.

Wow! I just installed 12 panels on my house, and I think Synergy provided the best customer service ever. Jeff is very knowledgeable, follows up as promised, and shows up on time. The installation crew was on time, professional, personable. One thing I especially liked was that an owner was involved throughout. The price was reasonable. I can’t imagine being happier with the entire process.

After an exhaustive and thorough search we chose Synergy Solar and Electrical Systems to install our solar system. We interviewed representatives from a number of solar companies. Synergy Solar came out heads above the rest. One of the main reasons for our choice is that Synergy is owner run and operated. You work directly with the owners from the get-​go.- there is no middle man and no need for an additional fee to pay his commission. Instead you get to work directly with the owners who have the most stake in their business. With Synergy, you get to work with Jeff, who manages the solar aspects of the business and Michael, who is the electrician. Both are professional, extremely informed and competent, and always willing to answer our array of questions and concerns before, during and after the project was completed.
We also chose Synergy because we wanted a local company — people who know the county regulations, requirements and have a personal investment in our community.
When considering to install solar on your home, there are many factors to consider including what products to use. We felt totally confident that both Jeff and Michael gave us the best advice to help us sort out our choices. The installation went flawlessly. We recently met with the owner Jeff Mathias at our property to discuss adding solar to our home. We recently experienced a house fire and we thought it was a great time to make the switch.
