Zillow

I was new to Zillow and I’m trying to rent my condo. Actually I first posted my ad on Postlets and Postlets distributed my ad to Zillow. Then I found out Zillow took over Postlets. But the issues for me came up because there is no customer service at Zillow.
I had to make 2 price changes to my ad. But when I received contact messages from interested parties the old ad kept showing up. I went back in 4 times to change it and it looked fine and I published it again, but then when the link went out it brought up the wrong ad over and over again.
So I contacted Zillow through their little online messaging app… that was last week, and no one has replied with a fix to my problem. So my ad shows incorrect price information and there seems to be no way to fix it.
Terrible service and I’m searching around to find another legitimate real estate listing service that cares. Zillow sucks.

I am a real estate broker based in Seattle. Zillow has some pros and cons.
Pros:
— They are like the Unilocal of Real Estate.
— Good way to showcase current listings, recent transactions, and reviews.
Cons:
— Sometimes they don’t have the most up-​to-​date data as they are not fully synced with the — MLS. So a lot of times, they display stale data.
— The zip code advertising program is an expensive way for getting leads without much of a guaranteed return on investment.
— Zestimates can be quite inaccurate.

After asking Zillow to remove all of my property information from their web site
I received another answer from Zillow regarding my review of their company.
They state:
«we display property information on Zillow to provide consumers with transparent real estate information. We receive this information from public records».
Everybody please laugh.
There are no public records for most of the property information on Zillow.
It’s all made up by them.
i.e.: Their Zestimate’s are numbers they pull out of thin air and their prediction like the one on my unit «Among Marina homes, this home is valued 14.5% less than the midpoint (medium) home and is valued 38.9% less per square foot» are ridicules.

Hello, Ive contacted billing three times now requesting to send me my premier contract or tell me how much I owe. My leads are crap and worthless, Im spending $ 255.00 a month for what, I got one lead for the whole month of January and the guy was a guy with no SSN. Agents, stay away from Zillow, scam artists.

As an agent, please DO NOT waste your money on advertising on their site. Totally «Bait & Switch» or in other words pays quite a bit of money for nonexistent leads. They came and gave an amazingly phoney presentation at our office.
Shame on me for signing up.
In order to get out of my contract I had to pay an additional two months. I DID NOT receive even one lead, but I did receive a wrong number call asking for Nadine.
It was so refreshing to read their other reviews, which I wish I would have done before paying them. If I could give a ZERO I would have.

Completely corrupt bunch of A**HOLES. Do not trust a single thing on their web site! Their publicly listed «Zestimate» of my house dropped by $ 200k after I gave them a bad review here. In their «Private Estimate» It’s 100k more, and then I get this message– «but there are no comparables in your neighborhood (lies) so consult one of our agents we recommend»! Just GROSS. SO WRONG. I sincerely hope they get sued. They are corrupt because now they are taking honest information — prices of homes sold in the neighborhood — and actually MANIPULATING REAL DATA to their own greedy ends. Who is the CEO of Zillow? Someone named SPENCER RASCOFF. This person should be ASHAMED OF HIMSELF. He probably hangs out with whoever owns Comcast.

Like the website info and definitely use it for searches. But they are not up to date on their data. Twice, we have changed the price on a house we are marketing for sale and it has taken more than a day for Zillow to post the MLS data. I like Redfin better.

My experience with Zillow has been a very very bad experience. Yes they do have alot of homes to choose from, however getting a return call from an agent is impossible, and the one time that i did reach an agent ms. Cherry Wang was rude as hell!!! She gave me a time to view the property and was not there to show it an was un cooperative when I mentioned that the property was open un knowned to her she basically asked me to lock it up and then told me that she would not be showing the property anymore and hung up the phone in my face. I was very disappointed, and very upset that people really are desperate at times to find a home and all the houses that they have available they are giving credible people that can accommodate these places the run around…

If I could rate it a zero I would… the information they post is completely inaccurate and fraudulent. A friend told me my home address was listed as a foreclosure. My home has never been foreclosed or ever even in danger of foreclosure. My home isn’t even for sale and has never been for sale! The home next door was foreclosed several years ago but was immediately purchased and occupied. The photo they posted was of the home next door but was from approx 8 years prior when my home site (which they listed as the address foreclosed) was just an empty plot of land! Do not trust any of the information on Zillow.

I can describe Zillow in 1 elegant word: slimball.
Their home estimates are wild. We live in a twin property next door — our twin has everything the same, to the last detail… except we have a slightly bigger lot of land (300SQ).
What’s our Zestimate?
$ 55K lower than our EXACT twin. What pure snake oil logic algorithms are those?
I had the pleasure of sharing a cab & plane ride with fellow Zillow salespersons. I gotta tell ya… the most soul-​less people I’ve ever met. I told them my mom was fighting cancer and they asked me if I wanted a house soon… like??? This experience does not change my rating. It just left a bad taste in my mouth.
Redfin’s fucking awesome by the way. I would choose Redfin over Trulia or Zillow ANY day.

Outstanding customer service and personnel. Highly efficient service, highly recommended. Their website is user friendly, very informative and up to date! I enjoyed using it!

When I typed in «Ferguson Lane for sale Austin Texas» on Google, Zillow shows this:

That is completely deceptive. 1820 Ferguson Ln, Austin, TX 78 754 is not under foreclosure.
Any company that uses deceptive listings to attract traffic is totally untrustworthy.
This company violates Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act and should be sued.

Received a Fraudulent FSBO listing from a buyer lead on this website.
The price on the FSBO is so low that it is very questionable so I searched for the property owner.
Owner confirmed that the unit is NOT FOR SALE.
Pay nearly $ 200 per month to advertise my services.
What you get? FSBO scams that are not for sale. I just paid to receive scam listings.

I had really bad experience with a customer service, Mr JP
I was trying to get the advertising that will fit my marketing plan
and he was trying to teach me how to do Real Estate business.
Each realtor has a different marketing strategy and if you want to sell
advertising, you should first try to listen to what your customer looking for and find
something that will fit them, not trying to tell them what to do.
I find this man really «rude» and treat me with no respect.

I’ve got a number of gripes about Zillow: First they’re trying to automate information about housing on the web. That relies on algorithms and substandard collection of information. One example was with my home in Darien Ct. I sold ½ of it to a co-​investor — they scraped the ½ off of reports and reports that as a foreclosure. Thanks Zillow. Bad Zillow. That took three months and a number of emails to resolve. They fixed it — and you know — 12 months later is back slide back into their original mistake. House is back listed as foreclosed on — at now ¹⁄₃ of it’s appraised value. Great. Thanks Zillow.
I reviewed a realestate agent who was remarkably unprofessional, along with a very positive review for another agent. They refused to publish the reasonable review. Zillow is proof that you can’t believe what you see on the internet. Thank you Unilocal for at least allowing reasonable reviews.

19 responses in 11 months. Half were salesmen trying to sell me. 30% other agents being nosy. A mobile home or two. A few legit people. Maybe!
$ 700 a month over the last 5 months and 200 approx for 6 before that. $ 6000. + invested. Realtors, I would not recommend!!!

Inaccurate home prices that aren’t even remotely based in reality (eg, our bank’s official appraisal), and after we wrote a bad review they lowered our home price even further! «Thanks,» creeps

Bad data, poor customer service, and incompetent employees. Have no faith in the company to execute a good product. Some advise, lose your data analysts who add little to no value and hire practical customer service focused employees who think like a customer, and translate user needs into practical solutions.

I would have given two stars, but I feel that if you have to have 9 employees write reviews to try and get to 2.5 stars, you are not an honorable company.

I am a real estate agent. I am having a little trouble claiming my own business, so I have to write from my personal account.
Zillow is a company whose SOLE purpose is to sell advertising to Real Estate Agents.
They are not here to provide anyone with any accurate information about individual properties. In fact, any public service you might glean from them is purely serendipitous.
I and many of my cohorts pay a monthly fee to be a «premier agent». I have advertised with them now for 90 days which I think is a fair trial. I have received ONE viable lead. At nearly $ 1,000 for that one lead, who has yet to even prove to me he can afford to buy anything, I am feeling I could have spent that money more effectively in other ways, or just gone and knocked on doors and kept my 1K. I am tied in to a $ 4,000 contract for a year. I am feeling really screwed right now.
If you are a home owner only seeking to get a value on your home, the only tool remotely of value is the trend line for your area. Values are not accurate at all.
If you are a nosy neighbor, you can find out information about your neighbor, your ex, your future dates or anyone else you want. I suppose it keeps you from calling me to do your dirty work. Yes, I have had those calls.
If you are a buyer or seller who wants to hire an agent, it is in fact a good way to find one who is actively trying to grow their business. That, I would say is actually a true benefit to users besides just the trend line.
If you are a Real Estate Agent considering advertising with Zillow you are the person I am really speaking to. You will likely be wasting your money if you are considering becoming a «premier agent». «Buyers» contact me to find out about properties which are already unavailable, because the site is not accurate in showing active properties, I have had only 4 people contact me in 3 months. Out of these 4, only one has really proven to be a possible client. Now a 25% conversion rate would be great if I was getting 10 leads a month. But, 1.3 leads a month, (none for over 30 days) is not acceptable, for that amount of money. I am okay with 1.3 leads a month for a lesser amount of money. Like $ 50 a month for that amount.
UPDATE:
Another point I failed to make is that the reviews, while true buyers and sellers, are only the ones the agent chooses to ask. So probably pretty biased upwards for performance.
In March, I started advertising with Unilocal!I have gotten probably 3 – 4 times as many calls, and I have closed 3 sales with Unilocal buyers in as many months, and probably have a referral fee coming as well. For about the exact same amount of money. And the reviews are something over which agents have almost no control, so more likely to be truly representative of the agents performance.
Although I signed a contract, they did not come after me for breaking it, so at least that part is good.

The Zillow Zestimates are not reliable at all, and they refuse to update the values even when presented with actual appraisals. It presents a real risk to consumers that are relying on this information to make financial decisions. Here is a recent example on Rip Off Report:
