This bakery was a fantastic surprise in the core of International district. We tried the hong kong eggtarts, the mexican bun and a milk green tea and all was delicious. The fresh milk green tea was much better than other bubble tea houses on the surroundings. I will definitively come back!

All I can say is, Hot Milk Tea. Seriously, this makes all your other Hot Milk Teas taste lame. I know that Yummy House Bakery is well known for their breads, sweets, and other desserts, but please believe me when I say that their Milk Tea is fantastic. I can’t find anywhere else that doesn’t make their Hot Milk Tea too sweet, except for Yummy House Bakery. The lady that works here is very sweet and friendly, so I have to give the customer service here a thumbs up. If you are into the pastries, I recommend ordering the Egg Pies, Humbao, and sweet buns. Even though it gets busy here, every thing moves by pretty fast. I haven’t had the chance to sit here and enjoy my drink and pastries since I am always on-the-go every time I come in, but there are tables for you to sit which is super convenient. I hope everyone tries this place out because it has failed to disappoint me!!!

Great little bakery smack dab in the middle of the ID. I called them to order a mango cake for a special occasion, and was really satisfied with the whole experience. The person answering the phone was really clear and easy to talk to(which can be tricky sometimes when ordering from places in the ID), and they had the whole thing ready by the next day. The cake was delicious and beautiful, and I’ll definitely be back for either individual pastries/desserts or for the next time I want to order something special!

I will say, if you’re in a pinch and need a cake(for whatever occasion) right away, Yummy House Bakery definitely delivers. :) Due to a hectic schedule, I was in a time crunch of finding a yummy birthday cake for my mom. With only a couple of days to spare, it was far too late in trying to make a reservation for an elaborate cake and such. After wandering around from bakery to bakery in ID/Chinatown, Yummy House Bakery help me resolve my mini crisis. Within half hour of ordering, boom. Cake was ready to go. Made from scratch, I got the Tiramisu cheesecake. THISCAKEISDELICIOUS! With its lightly textured coffee layers and chocolate flavors, this cake was quite a delight to eat. Not too sweet or too bitter, this cake was a good balance of the tiramisu. Overall, A+ for taste. If Tiramisu isn’t your thing, Yummy House Bakery offers a WIDE range of flavors you can pick from. You can easily customize your cake by picking the filling, the type of cake, and etc. With multiple fruit flavors offered and unique combinations, don’t feel afraid to ask the staff for recommendations. Prices are standard(for an 8″ cake, it roughly cost $ 37 total and sizes will determine the price) when comparing to other Asian bakeries. Overall, A for value and for cake options. P. S. Credit cards are accepted here, so yayyyy. Definitely will be swinging back here to try out other cake and pastries :)

This place is pretty good for some Hong Kong baked goods. I went in recently to get a few for lunch and picked up a couple pork buns and a ham and egg bun. Wanted to get a hot dog bun too, but they didn’t have any made at the time. I thought the pork bun had too much bun and not enough pork. But the bun seemed pretty standard taste-wise, so nothing surprisingly amazing. The ham and egg bun seemed different to me. Usually when I get this bun, the egg is usually made like an omelette. After biting into it I was surprised to see that it wasn’t an omelette, it was just a standard cooked egg with the egg whites on the outside and the yolk in the middle. I was weirdly amazed by that and enjoyed that bun quite a big. It was like a Chinese Egg McMuffin… without the cheese… and with sweet bun instead of english muffins. It was simple and amazing. The price of these buns tend to be less than $ 2 each which I guess is alright. Maybe I’m used to seeing them cheaper, but I guess the price is pretty reasonable. These still don’t really compare with the ones up in Vancouver B.C., but it’s a good enough local substitute if you’re craving Hong Kong pastries.

I stopped in while exploring the ID. I lived in Hong Kong for 6 months and was looking to find some of my favorite bakery goods. It is a small shop but they have all the classics(pork bun, custard bun, pineapple bun, egg tarts, and more!). There food is all pretty good. I was pleased.

I had to bring an assortment of buns/baos, so I stopped by here to see what they had. Took a peek and they had just filled up the self serve shelf so I grabbed a tray and piled it up. Guess I came in at a good time as I’m sure later the selections would be pretty scarce. Pricing seemed to be ok from the assortment we got. I grabbed some bbq pork buns, coconut buns, taro buns, pineapple buns, and custard buns then headed on over to the counter for the lady to box it up and ring me up. Paid, then I left. Trying some of the buns later, it was ok… an average amount of filling inside for the bbq pork, custard bun was just ok and same goes for the coconut bun. Everything was just ok in my book.

O.M.G!!! This bakery is delish!!! A got a slice of mango mousse cake and it was perfect. The mousse was lighter than clouds and Yummy House uses real fruit in one of the filling layers. I wasn’t able to tell if the mango was out of season. The entire slice had what must be poured campote. My taste buds were bursting with mango and at the same time, didn’t taste like a 100% sugary treat. Everything, from the cake, mousse, syrup, real fruit, made me easily understand why this was from a bakery called Yummy House.

Good pastries, got three slices of cake. Each of them were about $ 3/slice. Slices were well-decorated. Pluses: very friendly service and they take credit card! *two thumbs up* I’ll definitely be back soon.

We were heading to dinner with some friends and had made very good time into Seattle and my girl mentioned that she had never been to Chinatown! Say what? Ok she has a valid reason being that she is Canadian and goes back often so she visits Chinatown back home, phew I was gonna pull her pinay card from her, lol! Since we had dinner reservations of course we wanted dessert and what’s better than a Chinese bakery??? Yummy House was the pick of the draw as we drove through the ID and they still had a good selection on a Saturday evening. I went for some Pineapple bread, egg tarts, fruit tarts and almond cookies! My gf on the other hand she went a little«cray,» let’s just say she left with a cake on top of all the goodies!!! I’ll have to remember to stop by earlier in the day to see how their Humbao tastes as they were out already for the night!

Came here because I was starving and wanted something quick while picking up some groceries at Uwajimaya. The sweet BBQ pork bun is super delicious. The savory insides had very good flavor and was very well complemented by the sweet, crispy top!

Customer service wasn’t very good. The employees were arguing in the back and it escalated to the front of the store. The employees put everything on hold for a good 30 minutes to fight with each other. Also it wasn’t very clear where the lines began or where the line ended so nothing was in order about this bakery. I ordered at least 6 pastries, I expected them all to be together in a decent box. However I got three tiny To go boxes and a one pastry stuffed in a brown paper bag. The reason why they have 2 stars instead of one is because they have fresh fruits. Their strawberry mousse was amazing along with their fresh strawberry cake. The bbq pork bun had 4 pieces of pork tucked away in dry bread. Please be more organize with the way you run the store and be a bit more professional. Improve your packaging and don’t be so cheap on the pork in your bbq«pork» bun.

Wasn’t expecting to check this place out but because the power went off in Chinatown most shops, stores and restaurants had been close. My friend got a BBQ Pork Bun and a mix fruit cake. I got a green tea cake and a egg tart. I didn’t try my friends BBQ Pork Bun because I’m not a fan, but she swear it was«Very Very Good.» But I did try the mix fruit cakes. It was okay, all I tasted was cream. Wasn’t impress with it at all, my green tea cake was okay, again wasn’t impress with that either. Egg tart was good, wasn’t too sweet(I don’t really have a sweet tooth) the crust like so many people complain was not flaky enough. But some people seems to NOT know they have two kind of crust for egg tart, one with tons of layers to build a flaky crust or the American style crust like for fruit tarts. I personally like the American style crust over the flaky crust. It gets too messy for me. The lady that runs the place was super nice, very friendly and made small talk with me. I don’t know if I would recommend this place to my friends tho.

Okay, I’m from NYC and maybe I’m a little biased, but the time it took to make a bubble tea was just unacceptable. Almost at 6 minutes for 1 bubble tea. Lady is nice, place seems nice and relaxing, but my entire service was slow. The egg tart was alright. Not flakey enough for me, and was slightly cold by the time I got to eat it, which automatically downgrades any egg tart.

Talk about yummy, they had the most delicious little goodies I’ve gotten in a long while. Their mocha cake is so good and moist, packed with so much mocha-y goodness! I also had a simple fruit tart and it was great! Definitely a good stop to have dessert after some dim sum.

I stopped in to hit up the bakery. Two Slices of Strawberry cake. Totally delicious, Made with fresh strawberry preserves. The cake was light and airy, with a huge strawberry on top. Add this to your list for fresh desserts that you wont feel guilty about eating.

REVIEWSOLELYONHONGKONGEGGTARTS and DURIANPASTRY. Came here to try their egg tarts… they only had three left so we got all of them! We could not wait to try them out so we sat inside this little bakery and stuffed our faces. The verdict was a little disappointing. Not sure if the egg tarts were just not fresh enough since it was around 8:30pm at night, … or the egg tarts were just not good enough. The filling was okay, not extremely sweet but not too flavorful either. The crust was meh… kind of doughy as I was expecting flaky crusted egg tarts. We also got a durian pastry. The durian inside was not fresh durian, but a process durian paste. Mehhhhhh!!! They had a wide variety of other pastries that looked pretty good so maybe next time I will try something else.

The smells, man. The smells. You walk in and it’s feels like… a pound cake smacked you in the face and there are remnants of it on your upper lip. It smells so damn good in here. I got an egg tart, sponge cake, and one of those soft pastries that look like a football and have coconut shavings and a big line of cream in the center(I should really remember the name of this but I can’t for the life of me, so I’m just going to call it «the football» for now). The egg tart had light, creamy flavor and the sponge cake kept its moisture over night. The only complaint I have was that the cream in the football was heavy on the salt. I ended up taking out some of the cream(phrasing). I’ve come here on a Sunday evening and almost all of the shelves were wiped out. On a Saturday around 4PM, it was crowded but I was able to get the last couple egg tarts. So… if you want your pastry fill, come early.

I came to pick up a birthday cake for a friend, and was very happy with the service, the cake, and the entire process. All I had to do was walk in, pick a cake, give my friend’s name, and it was ready in minutes with a special«happy birthday» message on it. In case you want to ensure you get the right kind of cake, I believe they have an online ordering service. I ordered a mango cake for my friend, and I’ve also tried their mixed fruit cakes — all of them good. They are all Asian-styled, so they are very light — almost like angel food cake(but even lighter). The icing is also light — pretty much like whipped cream. The fruits they use have always been fresh and tasty, so no complaints there. These cakes, because they are so much lighter, makes me feel like I can eat more cake, which I definitely appreciate. I don’t get the«ugh I ate too much cake» feeling I sometimes get with a big slice of traditional American birthday cake. My only slight qualm is that the cakes can be pricey. I think the standard cake is anywhere from $ 25-$ 40. It’s definitely of good quality, and worth it for special occasions, but still can be pricey depending on the type of cake you choose. Overall, though, a great place for Asian cakes!

I have to be honest, I’m not a huge fan of Chinese delights. Aside from BBQ pork buns and egg tarts. Yummy House has some pretty flakey and tasty egg tarts. It has the perfect ratio of custard to crust. Their BBQ humbao is generous in size but the filling is not the typical semi sweet fluorescent red color that I’ve become accustom to. It’s probably a good thing but I do like my meat somewhat sweet. My sister bought a birthday cake for my dad here last month and it was really good. It was light and not very sweet — kind of right up the alley of the elders in my house. They did a great job decorating the cake too. Simple yet elegant. I think we have a winner for a go to Chinese Bakery in town.
