Go here for the location, ambience, and for the fact that it is not the Starbucks down the road. But, surprisingly, the coffee is just not great. My husband got an espresso macchiato and I had a mocha. It took a loooong time for the barista to make the drinks, so we were hoping for greatness. Just so so… not offensive but not excellent.

Stopped by for coffee on our last visit to Seattle, what a great little spot. The baristas were super friendly and helpful with the menu since we weren’t sure what to order. I had a pour over coffee first and I wasn’t a fan. I do really like dark coffee and most of their coffees are medium to light. I decided to give it another try so I ordered an americano, oh my, so delicious. The atmosphere was a little quiet there weren’t many people there and so it wasn’t super comfortable, but we read our paper and had our great coffee and I would for sure come here again.

These guys know what they’re doing, and they put out a superb coffee product. They do public cuppings every Wednesday at 11am. The interior had tons of seating &AC& wifi for customers, as well as a cool view of their in-house roasting machine they use from behind a glass window :)

I come here regularly and I always love their Latte!(Their macchiato is perfect too!) However it is my first time writing a review for Victrola. Today I came here late and the rain was really hard around 8 pm when it was about to close. The barista let me hang around till the rain was smaller. It was so nice of him!

What more is there to say? There coffee is just amazing! 1 macchiato & a cold brew was ordered, & worth every cent. Staff were friendly, loved the hipster college vibe of it & the organic feel about the place. Simple & delightful, & all about the coffee!

This was the highlight of my trip to Seattle. The coffee experience here was exceptional. I bought their single origin coffees and brought them back as well. I highly recommend buying their coffee.

In the land of hipster coffee shops and great(and I mean, GREAT), coffee, we searched Unilocal and came across Victrola. And it is, by far, one of the best cups of coffee I’ve ever had. Even though it’s down the street from the Starbucks roastery– which I mean, c’mon, you’re in Seattle, you don’t need Starbucks!- this café is still pretty busy. We wandered in, watched them roast their coffee through the glass window, and ordered some coffees. He ordered the simple house coffee– why, practically everyone in the café was ordering the house coffee. Seriously? I thought. Why would you buy just a house coffee when there are so many more options??? I bought the pourover using one of their rotating list of beans they had at that moment. As I waited for my pourover, I sipped his house coffee. Holy cow, that’s got to be the best house coffee I’ve ever tasted! I really enjoy the taste of their beans/coffee. It was so smooth, so light, with very little aftertaste– it practically tasted like a pourover. WHAT?!! I exclaimed. I could have just gotten the house coffee– it was THAT good! *Mentally kicking myself* But lo and behold, my pourover came and it was SOOOOOOOO smooth. You know you have a great pourover when you can taste the notes in the coffee, and you don’t have to dilute it with cream– you can just drink it black and it goes smoothly down. We should have bought beans. We should have gotten another coffee. I have dreams about this place but now it’s too far from us! If you’re in the area, skip the Starbucks(I mean, seriously!), and go to Victrola. You’ll have the smoothest cup of coffee ever.

The goods: great coffee, large open space, good music, friendly baristas, free wifi, and overall has a good vibe. We ordered a cardamom iced latte and it was fantastic. I wish that I could order this everywhere! Also, they didn’t make me feel guilty about adding a flavor to my latte(as many coffee shops do). It’s on a hill and you can sit at a little barstool facing the street outside and people watch. We sat there for awhile and rejuvenated, and marveled at how good the drink was! Walking distance from quite a few places in Capitol Hill, I’d definitely stop back here. Good place to study, or a good place to just hang out.

This place was a few stores down from the Starbucks Reserve. I wanted to buy a package of coffee for one of my housemates cause she loves coffee! I have zero clue about coffee since I don’t drink it. One of the workers there was super nice and very helpful in explaining the different types of coffee they have! Lots of my friends I came with on spring break here got drinks and such and said they loved it. Ambience and interior is super cute and a great and chill place to hang out or study, it was packed with people on their laptops and such.

Oh yes, that macaroon is amazing! I was eyeing it when we first ordered our drinks but decided I wasn’t very hungry. However, so many people ordered it, and it was so big and looked so delicious that I had to go back and order it myself. Totally worth it! This place is bustling. It was 4pm on a Monday afternoon(President’s Day) and they were packed, lots of people on their laptops. Luckily two people were leaving their spots at the big communal table just as we were finishing up our order. * Chai tea latte — 3.5 stars Good foamy texture, but the flavor was a little watered down. * Macaroon — 5 stars Biggest macaroon I’ve ever eaten, and most delicious. The coconut filling was very moist(perfection!), with a crisp outer layer, and the thick dark chocolate was a fantastic complement.

I was so pumped to come to Victrola. I was coming in to Seattle for a quick weekend trip and had this place circled as one of my «must try’s» to get a mocha. Service was very friendly and my mocha looked very good(as you can see in the picture). However after the first few sips I could tell that it lacked any espresso flavor. It was definitely one of the softer mochas I’ve ever had and had too much milk. It just lacked that oomph. In hindsight I should have ordered at least one extra espresso shot, but i had assumed the mocha would pack that espresso flavor I was looking for. It’s too bad because I was really looking forward to this place, but it just didn’t meet my lofty expectations. Not the worst mocha I’ve ever had, just somewhere in the middle and unmemorable. I’d like to come back on my next trip, as maybe I came in on the wrong day.

I saw this place on Munchies via Vice for their special on Seattle! This place is next to the Starbucks laboratory thing cough tourist trap cough. The coffee here is great, its rich, its strong, and it doesn’t taste bitter. The atmosphere is an interesting one, its packed, everyone is having their own conversations but its not too loud. The Wi-Fi here is also pretty fast.

Not very impressed by Seattle’s coffee offerings. //LOCATION //A block away from Seattle Reserve in Capitol Hill //SERVICE //Quick and friendly. //FOOD // + latte: Lackluster unfortunately. Maybe we went on a bad day.

Smoothest latte I have had, possibly ever, but definitely smoothest in Seattle. It took three factors coming together to make this latte monumentally delicious: 1. Barista power. Girl’s got game. And she was really friendly, to boot, but not so friendly that I felt obligated to chat. Exactly what a barista should be! 2. Quality beans. There is no way you could get this level of smooth out of a bean that was not roasted right, sourced well, and fresh. 3. The espresso for the day tasted like French. I did not ask what it was, so this could be wrong, but it had that smooth deep dark chocolate taste with none of the poppy bright sensations from Colombian coffee. Typically when I get espresso, it’s a blend, and I think that’s a damn shame because the brightness of some of those beans ruins the velvety goodness that a latte can be. This one was absolutely perfect. Even the temperature was just right. Hot enough that it was warm and comfortable, but not so hot that it burned my mouth. All in all, highly recommend, and my recommendation has nothing to do with the fact that I once spotted a baby corgi here.

Went two days in a row. Being from out of town, was really pleased that the staff remembered us! Has an espresso the first day and their cold brew the next. Coffee was great and bought two bags to bring home for the Mrs.

This place is good at what it does– make coffee. We came here after reading and hearing good reviews– and it definitely lived up to the hype. Has a very cool, hipster vibe, and free wifi! The staff is really nice too. The coffee is fresh and strong– and doesn’t have that burned taste that you get in some places. It was also very smooth, and I like how they roast their own coffee. Good coffee, what more can you ask for!

Excellent coffee and staff! My friend that lives nearby recommended it to me as a popular local spot. Got a cappuccino for around $ 4 and it was really good. The store itself is very spacious and has a lot of light. It’s great for meeting up with friends or getting work done. They also sell bags of their beans which makes for great gifts.
