Trophy Cupcakes and Party

As someone who enjoys cupcakes and/​or generally seeing people smile on birthdays, I would never recommend anyone order from this place.
Impossible to get a hold of, don’t respond to online, e-​mail, or telephone orders.
Have had their cupcakes once and wouldn’t ever recommend them given how arsed the customer service and the dismal quality.

Great customer service, super friendly. However the cupcake I had was very meh. It was more expensive than Royale and smaller. Also, it was fairly dry and the icing was yogurt-​y textured, not so great. I’ll probably stick with Royale when I’m craving a cupcake.

We want another one right now! Not too sweet, moist cakes and impeccable decorating. UW students had ordered many for graduation as there was a steady line retrieving the boxes. Everything– the branding to the buttercream was exceptional! We had a chocolate salted caramel and a nutella. The only problem was we wanted ten more of each. Treat yourself to a recess from life and go inside this old schoolhouse and get a cupcake. You won’t regret it.

Let me first say. I love the flavor of these cupcakes. It seems that every time, unless I am there early am, the selection is very poor. One time I went to the Trophy at The Bravern and they had THREE cupcakes left. I now just go to the Wallingford center but I’ve noticed they don’t put as much icing on the cupcakes now :(This is a super bummer for me because I love the icing. I hope this isn’t a permanent change to cut costs.

Yes, the cupcake are great (duh). But when I called today to inquire about flavor a, the lady was so sweet and fun and (politely!) informed me that I could just have found all my answers on the website. Despite that, she insisted on answering my questions and was as sweet as their cupcakes. 5 stars!

I think it’s only fair to share an update to my review of Trophy Cupcakes. A few days after my visit to the store and posting my original review I received a call from Mylie at Trophy. She was very apologetic about all that had happened as I told her my story. She offered many apologies. Then a few days after that she called me again and made an amazing offer in an effort to make things right. I took the day to think about everything that had transpired and ultimately decided to give Trophy another opportunity. I am really impressed at the level of ownership that they’ve taken in what went wrong and at their efforts to make it right. I had a few special requests to go with my order, which she happily accepted. So they will be bringing cupcakes to my meeting next week. I’ll post an update after that assuming it all goes well!

Trophy Cupcakes is the only place so far where I’ve gotten cupcakes that I actually enjoy eating. The frosting isn’t too sweet, the toppings (where applicable) complement the flavor, and the cake is delicious (like the rest of it).
The worst parts about Trophy Cupcakes is 1) trying to decide on one cupcake and not going overboard, and 2) trying not to drool on the display case.
I suggest coming with a friend so you can share and try different flavors without eating too much.
When I visited, I had the snowball which was delicious.

The best cupcake I’ve ever had! The neopolitan one is divine. I couldn’t believe that the strawberry frosting tasted exactly like the strawberry ice cream. It was so moist. Prices are very reasonable too.

Literally heaven on earth. One thing about me, is I really don’t like frosting, (I know weird right) anyways, every time I get cupcakes, I shave the frosting off (keep maybe like… a tiny tad bit of frosting, but barely anything). And just munch away haha. My favorites are vanilla and red velvet. They are sooooooo delicious!!! I come here every other month, to pick up goodies for birthdays. And sometimes just to fulfill my trophy cupcake craving!

After watching Cupcake Wars, my daughter and I were dying for some cupcakes. Since we were on our way to a birthday party, we volunteered to bring the cupcakes. It was 5pm when we arrived to Trophy and while the shelves were a bit sparse, the cupcakes there were beautiful. We asked for 2 each of the remaining cupcakes for a total of 10. We ordered flavors varied from red velvet, salted caramel, strawberry lemonade, vanilla with chocolate frosting and chocolate chip mint. Since there were no prices listed anywhere, when the woman working there said they were $ 40, I was a bit taken aback. However, we were hoping they were worth the splurge. All of the kids that were able to taste the chocolate chip mint were raving about it. It looks like the decorative leaf didn’t seem to be edible, but I failed to catch that before my 4 year old ate half of it. All in all the cakes were tasty. I would probably be more enthusiastic if they were not so expensive, but it was a treat worth sharing.

I wanted to try Trophy Cupcakes while we were in Seattle. What a great storefront! From the outside, I just wanted to buy all of the cupcakes! I think their special at the time was Peanut Butter & Jelly, but I didn’t opt for that one. I just go with the flavors I usually get, like Chocolate, Vanilla, Café au lait, Lemon, and Red Velvet. If you like, you can check out their website before you come here and they will put up the selections they have in store for that day.
I ate it out of the box as soon as I walked through that door. Man, if you love cupcakes, you’ll love this place. The cream cheese icing on the red velvet was incredible! All of these cupcakes are flavorful in the way that you like, and it’s not too overwhelming. For the ones that I couldn’t finish right away, I just packed up to take home to Los Angeles for my wife. If you’re ever in Seattle and are close to one of these places, you’ve got to check it out!

Best cupcakes I’ve ever had! They are totally overpriced, but their frosting can’t be beat. I love the variety and the attention to detail. I’ve eaten there and i’ve placed orders to pick-​up – never had a bad experience.

Serious yum resides here! I love cupcakes as long as the topping is dense and creamy and the cake is moist. I usually get a cupcake here and there from Cupcake Royale in Cap Hill or Downtown, but I think Trophy’s quality really beats them.
What I liked is that when I run my fork through my beautiful cupcake it went almost smoothly all the way from the top to the paper wrapper. The consistency of topping was really similar to the cake and although they had different textures and flavors, they were really unified. The looks of the cupcake itself were really gorgeous (see the photo I attached).
Treating myself here was a really nice experience that I will remember, come back to and recommend. They are located inside an shopping center in an older building in Wallingford with other business inside, but this adds to the charm of this place and it’s to sit at one of their tables in the corridor, enjoy the cupcake and people watch.

I absolutely love Trophy and this is my favorite location of their’s. Free parking in the center, check! Plenty of delicious cupcakes, check! Coffee and a place to sit and enjoy, check!
I’ve had my share of cupcakes here in Seattle and Trophy is by far the best cupcakes I have ever had. trophy is my go-​to when buying cupcakes for myself, a party or event. I even go ahead and get them delivered for friends and family’s birthdays around the Seattle area.
Overall best place to go if you want cupcakes. They also have a party room at this location too!

I witnessed this store opened up on the second floor of the famous Wallingford Center when I used to be an part-​time employee at one of the stores. Their cupcakes used to be bigger & much cheaper. They really know how to make some awesome tasting cakes that’s actually moist & wonderful icing in various flavors. I really love their green tea cupcakes, but they stopped making that pretty early on due to matcha powder prices. Currently, my favorite is their blue berry pie cupcake, but that’s seasonal & only available in the summer. My second favorite is red velvet, which actually became a stable item.

These cupcakes are delicious and almost too pretty to eat. Only downside is the price though. (5 cupcakes is easily $ 20) People might not like how there’s a heap full of frosting on top… Personally, I don’t find it that off-​putting. Once you start eating the cupcake, the cake and frosting evens out. All the times I’ve gotten a cupcake here they are always moist like it should be. I haven’t tried all their flavors but the ones I have tried I happen to like. I crave cupcakes every so often and Trophy is the place to be!

Probably the best cupcakes I’ve ever had! I’m not really a sweets person but man oh man! My favorite is snickerdoodle: D. I think their frosting is top notch and their cake is a lot better than most.

The customer service was good. I got what I wanted without any issues so I don’t have anything to complain about.

So I recently relocated to Seattle. I saw a sign for Trophy cupcakes and thought I’d check it out while I was exploring the Wallingford area. In the span of two months, I have visited this particular location at least six times. I want to note that, in the short-​run of those months, I was crashing with some friends in SeaTac while looking at apartments. This means it’s a 40 minute drive to get there. Worth it! Every time!
M and I have made it a task to try every flavor (limiting ourselves to one flavor each trip may be the hardest thing to do!) and have not found one that we did not like yet! Even the gluten-​free flavors are amazing (I personally LOVE the Cherries Jubilee flavor). The down side to finding this place is that we’ve moved to an apartment within 10 minutes of their location at University Village… I might just die from these cupcakes, but I’m strangely ok with that.
They also deliver, but you have to get a dozen, which will cost you over $ 50. Definitely going to do this once the apartment is settled (gotta celebrate the housewarming properly!)
Bottom Line:
If you like cupcakes, this is the place to go. The desserts are sweet and flavorful, while also being light and fluffy. I would highly suggest them to anyone looking for a sweet treat, and even say to go out of your way for them.

Bought a six pack of cupcakes, no discount. If you buy a dozen you get $ 3 off. The cupcakes are decent, nothing ground breaking. The cream cheese frosting is pretty good though. The frosting is the soft kind not dense or hard.
We got the red velvet, cupcake of the day (graham cracker and cream cheese frosting), chocolate, lemon lemon and another cupcake of the day. Overall the graham cracker one was the favorite of the group but the others were good too.
These are pretty pricey but I guess cupcakes are transitioning to a more gourmet type treat.
Overall try it but I don’t know if you’ll be hooked unless you are just really into sweets.

I am a cake person. Not sure if it’s because I had more cake than pie as a kid or if I’m really just eating it for the frosting or what.
I finally made my way here last weekend. It is adorably styled with vintage and new party supplies situated in an old schoolhouse. Pretty much embodying everything I love. They had a cute little trinket section behind the glass that said «Everyone deserves a trophy!» that they can add to the top of your cupcake.
With full bellies we opted for 4 to go. Vanilla vanilla, red velvet, salted caramel chocolate, and lemon meringue. The gals were super sweet.
We indulged in 2 on the tables outside. The red velvet and salted caramel chocolate. Both were very moist, unlike a lot of cupcake shops. We liked the cream cheese frosting on the red velvet and the chocolate cake on the salted caramel. The frosting on the caramel was a tad sweet. Not Betty Crocker sweet, but still a touch more than when I make it.
We had the other two after dinner & the vanilla one was a great version of a vanilla cupcake. Buttery and moist. The lemon meringue really blew us away. There were so many elements! Lemon curd, graham cracker crust, torched meringue frosting all in a lemon cupcake. Definitely spring for those fancy cupcakes that you wouldn’t want to make at home! So crazy good!

Some damn good cupcakes!
So I bought a Groupon for a dozen cupcakes from here for a party that never happened. Then I forgot about the Groupon until a few days before it would expire. Not wanting it to go to waste, I placed my order online. I got one in almost every flavor just to try them all. It was like on a Tuesday so I couldn’t save it for the weekend. I picked them up and they looked and smelled amazing. I decided to eat two and freeze the rest in plastic containers. Yes, I have no friends to share with at that time, plus I was being selfish. After about a week, I’ve been defrosting them one at a time when I want to eat them. I must say, they still tasted just as fresh! Nom nom nom! Soft and moist. The buttercream also thawed perfectly and tasted so good. I will be getting fat soon and have two cupcakes left to eat before I start my diet. Love it!

After a very long, fun day at the zoo, a bunch of us wanted coffee before the long ride home, and ended up at the Wallingford Center half an hour before it all closed. Our GPS told us Starbucks was around, so imagine our surprise when we found Trophy instead. I ran in real quick to see if they did serve coffee (which they do) and we piled in to get a drink fix.
The center is super cute. The spot where Trophy is is front and center at the top of the stairs. Can’t miss it. The shelves upon shelves of cupcakes were inviting and enticing. One of my friends has Celiac disease *and* cannot have rice and oat flours on top of needing to be gluten free. The gal behind the counter was quick to pull out their ingredient list to show my friend what gluten free flours they used. Score! She could have them. She got the GF cherries jubilee and chocolate espresso cupcakes. I bought the chocolate graham and the strawberry lemonade. My other two friends got the dark chocolate raspberry and red velvet. Those 6, plus four drinks was almost $ 40. I wasn’t offered a receipt so I have no clue if that’s a good price but /​shrug it was a nice treat.
The chocolate graham cupcake had a chewy marshmallow style frosting. I wiped off 3 of the 4″ of frosting and left just enough to complement the cupcake. I was pretty disappointed with it. It wasn’t bad, but the frosting is super mild in flavor — almost bland with almost no sweetness — and the chocolate base was not sweet at all. I don’t like sickly sweet treats, but this could have stood more sweetness. The strawberry lemonade was fantastic, despite the fact that it was quite stale (I ate it at 8pm, so it can be expected a little) and I hate fillings in the middle. The strawberry filling in this one was awesome when eaten with a bit of cake and frosting. On its own, it was an oversugared abomination.
My friends all enjoyed their cupcakes. The gluten free ones were described as very moist and dense. It made my friend extremely happy to be able to partake in cupcakes and not get left with a hunk of dry, crumbly junk, like so many gluten free treats end up.
Even though I wasn’t 100% satisfied, I would definitely go back to try more flavors the next time I’m in the area with a few bucks to spare.

I googled «best cupcakes in Seattle» found Trophy cupcakes and was not disappointed! Absolutely delicious – each one I tried!

These really are the best cupcakes around. I had the privilege to attend an event at the Space Needle where the founder and CEO spoke about her company.
Yes, they are «pricey,» but like she says, they are a treat to be enjoyed fully… even if it takes two sittings to finish one (like me).
The Snickerdoodle tastes exactly how it should; it’s divine. I love how she uses only the best ingredients when concocting these little pieces of heaven. She painstakingly researches and tries every element until it is perfection.
The Chocolate Caramel is my top favorite.
The only drawback is the lack of mini’s…

Trophy Cupcake is an abomination — you pay HOW MUCH for a single cupcake that has HOW MANY CALORIES per cupcake? It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that, when it comes to Trophy, we have thrown our sanity and our wallets out the window. And yet, we keep going back for more.
Without a Groupon, a classic flavor starts at $ 3.50/each, or $ 38.50 per dozen. For $ 3.50, you can buy girl’s leggings at Target, an EcoSmart lightbulb at the Home Depot, or a bottle of bargain basement wine at Trader Joe’s. A family of 6 can also dine comfortably in Botswana for this amount of money. And yet, this is the amount of money we pay for a single cupcake that will amount to an entire day at the gym the next day and eating nothing but water for the following week. This is how much we adore Trophy Cupcakes. That red-​velvet-​y, vanilla-​chocolaty-​, carrot walnutty-​goodness has ruined our sense of logic.
The last few times I ordered a dozen cupcakes online without any problems, but the past weekend, I’d ordered a dozen cupcakes, plus a few singles. When I went to pick up the cupcakes (17 cupcakes in total), only 12 were ready, as the sales associate had overlooked the other 5, and a few of the flavors I’d requested online had been sold out. And it was only 2 hours till my big cupcake orgy.
To make up for her mistake — the poor girl must’ve been dining on cupcakes for the entire three days she’d been employed there — she let me have another cupcake for FREE. It wasn’t till I got home that I realized I actually had 16 cupcakes instead of 17 — so I basically never got a free cupcake and had paid for one that I’d never received. Proof again that cupcakes are detrimental to my mental well-​being and knowledge of first-​grade math.
I’m sure the second mistake would’ve been corrected with yet ANOTHER pseudo-​free cupcake, but I was under time constraint and didn’t have time to go back. But somewhere, somehow, Trophy has $ 3.50 of my money, and I feel like I’m depriving a pre-​teen of a pair of leggings, or a destitute African family of a good meal. Next time I’ll just save the $ 3.50 and buy an EcoSmart lightbulb and hold it over my head… maybe that will help the brain cells grow a little bit faster.
