Top Pot’s service remains friendly, efficient and cutomer focused. If you like this sort of donut — raised and cakes are their core —(and I oh so do!), this may be the place for you! BUT, the price for 1 maple bar and 2 old-fashioned was $ 7.20(3⁄9). That’s eye popping, knee buckling, take your pick. Enjoy them if you can afford them!

Great donuts. Above average coffee. Friendly service. The maple bar is the amazing and the glazed rivals a KK.

I love top pot doughnuts as their base taste of the flour is really awesome and it set’s it apart from other donut places. Their coffee is average, nothing fancy about it. The location is very convenient and is in a residential looking area. Ample parking space and fantastic place to bring your kids and pets. I like their location on 5th ave in downtown Seattle.

This location is right by my house and I have been coming here for about 7 years. Parking in the area is sometimes tough, especially on weekends! The lot is usually full and you might have to drive a block or two to find street parking. Top Pot definitely specializes in cake doughnuts. Other reviews have mentioned that the donuts are«dense» & «dry» which is only the case if you’re used to eating raised doughnuts. I personally love cake doughnuts and the ones at Top Pot are no exception! The doughnuts are soft, light and have the perfect amount of sweetness. Overly sweet glazes and frostings always kill a doughnut for me, but this has never been the case with Top Pot. Additionally, they offer a wide variety of flavors including seasonal ones(peppermint snowdrift around the holidays). There really is something for everyone. I usually stick with the Pink Rainbow, a cake donut topped with pink vanilla frosting and sprinkles. The only problem I have with Top Pot is the price. I understand that they are going for an artisan doughnut feel, however, I feel that their flavors are not creative enough to justify more than $ 2 a doughnut. Blue Star Donuts in Portland, OR crème brûlées their doughnuts for around the same price!

I love me some Top Pot donuts! There isn’t a flavor donut here that I donut love.(Haha!) It’s a bit of a splurge as each donut is $ 2.00+. I would say the donuts are a heavier and more crumbly eating experience than other donut brands. I think this is why people think it can be too dry. If you want your donuts light as air, stick to Krispy Kreme! However, these donuts are a local delight I will continue to treat myself to! Fun fact, while I was working at Nordies, one of my customers had a personal email address. As for this specific location… It is very difficult to get to by car. If you’re on the right side of the road, you’re going to have a bad time. No one likes the car trying to turn left on a double yellow right before a stoplight! Once you manage to get into the parking lot, you will be horrified to learn there is barely any parking ! There are spots for about 5 cars. No can dosville baby doll. I would happily visit by foot if I lived in the area but donut come here with your car unless it’s 10 mins before closing or odd hours like that. Because of this… My review is lowered by 2 stars. Yikes !

Bad coffee. There namesake is too expensive. The staff is just horribly impatient and doesn’t have any ability to smile. It happens to be on a very convenient bicycle route where a 12 y.o. suggests we stop in before riding any further. That’s the only reason why I go here.

I’ve been coming for a few weeks now, and everyone who works here is very friendly. The outdoor seating is nice, and lots of other dogs come by so my little one can get some socialization. Their gluten free options are pretty good, coffee is ok, and iced teas are really good — I recommend the peach ginger in a glass. Fridays are pretty busy, so be warned! I have yet to find outlets, but Grateful Bread is across the way, and they have a bunch. Love the parking here, and on nearby streets — always easy. If nothing else, come for the great staff!

Short & sweet– heavenly maple bars and delicious coffee. I love drinking my coffee without adding anything to really get the taste. Definitely one of the better tasting coffees I’ve had at a donut place. I’m used to getting Top Pots donuts from QFC during the middle of the day, so it was a treat to grab a fresh bar this morning. Krispy Kreme may still have the best original glazed donut, but it doesn’t stand a chance with Top Pots variety of donuts.

I don’t get the hype. These are very mediocre donuts– solid donuts, but nothing special or unique. The apple fritter was on the dense and chewy side. I’m not sure how frequently they make new batches, but I came in around 1 or 2pm and it tasted like day old donuts? Great for a donut craving, but expect good regular donuts and nothing particularly out of this world. Nevertheless, I loved the library ambiance and the service was very friendly.

This place is certainly overhyped — these are very average tasting donuts to me(nothing beats Blue Star in Portland, OR). Ordered the chocolate cinnamon sugar, and the blueberry and both were slightly dry without the fresh donuty goodness that one expects when waking up early to get the day’s first batch of donuts. Service was very amazing though, as everyone who works here is unbelievably pleasant and friendly — they certainly made my day over the donuts.

When I visited Seattle the first thing I noticed was that people drive very courteously. So initially my thought of people here was that they are too nice. What does this have to do with my Top Pot visit?! Read on… Top Pot was a destination I had to visit in Seattle. I remember hearing that Starbucks donuts are essentially a Top Pot donut so this intrigued me. Me and my girlfriend visited this location since we were staying in the University District. It has ample parking, a good selection of donuts, and seemed like a perfect family outing. I sincerely apologized to the gentleman behind me and told him to just go ahead of us since we are indecisive as hell. We ended up getting a raspberry donut, apple fritter, and mocha. The highlight of our selection was the apple fritter. It was so soft!!! But the true MVP of this visit was the man we let go ahead of us. He put $ 5 towards our bill and it truly made our day. We didn’t get the chance to thank him, but to whoever that courteous Seattle man, thank you so much!

I love top pot and this location is located in a quiet neighborhood. Lots of street parking as well as a parking lot and outdoor seating. There was a line this morning(before 9am) but it moved quickly. I love top pot donuts, they well made, rich in flavor, with lots of variety. They also have ice cream and coffee available at this location.

This place puts a new spin on what you expect from a doughnut shop. Not saying these doughnuts are good for you but they just seem more hethy than Krispy Kreme. Their seldction of doughnuts is fantastic with all your favorites like the old fashion, maple bar and classic glazed. But what really sets this shop apart from the other is the fact they they serve top notch coffee. Baristas that serve doughnuts, that’s what I’m talking about. And if you feel like just coming in and killing some time, there are more old classic books lining the walls than you would find at most libraries. Great for reading yourself to sleep after the doughnut sugar rush.

I should have listened to the other Unilocalers who said to avoid the coffee — it is weak and not very good. It’s also ridiculously expensive. However, their doughnuts(while also expensive) and their welcoming space make up for the terrible coffee. My friend and I split an apple fritter, a glazed chocolate old-fashioned, and a salted caramel old-fashioned. The apple fritter is to die for! If I were my friend and lived just down the street, I think I’d be even pudgier than I already am! The chocolate glazed old-fashioned was also delicious, fresh and moist. The only disappointment(beyond the horrible coffee) was the salted caramel doughnut — the frosting wasn’t terribly tasty and the doughnut tasted stale.

This isn’t my favorite Top Pot but it is the closest. Parking is pretty easy, the lot has like four or five spots that are usually taken but it is usually easy to find parking on the street. Employees are typically friendly enough. I feel like they’re always out of maple bars and find it pretty difficult to choose a doughnut that looks good. This place would be tops if they kept a decent variety on hand, or made more if they ran out at 12−1pm.

Not impressed, so dry. I had to dunk my doughnut into my coffee,(which I hate doing because I have floating doughnut left in my cup.) in order to eat it. it was very dull. I thought this place was the best around when it came to doughnuts? I thought maybe it was the type of doughnut, so I ordered a half dozen to go. So what, are they made out of gold to charge this much? I was right the first time.. These suck.

How I heard of this place: Years ago I was introduced to Top Pot by my friend Sadiq, who would frequent the café for coffee and free wi-fi. Type of cuisine: Police fare: doughnuts and coffee. Also offered: tea, Italian sodas, other bottled sodas, salads & sandwiches from Mike’s Deli. Ambiance: Cozy and warm, with books for all ages lining the walls, floor to ceiling. Light colored wooden furniture with classic 1950s fonts on menus and signs. What I ordered: Throughout the years, I have sampled most every Top Pot doughnut — from the Valley Girl Lemon to the chocolate rainbow, from the apple fritter to the maple and chocolate bars, from the pink feather boa to the lemon old fashioned to the Bavarian cream and the bullseye. On this trip, I ordered a single, tall, non-fat, white chocolate, peppermint mocha without whipped cream(which is homemade and fresh!). What I loved: The baristas take coffee seriously. Great care and attention are paid to the timing of pulled shots, the temperature of the milk and the fancy designs that are made each customer’s coffee order. I love the sweetness of the mocha, without being overpoweringly sugary. The hint of flavor to enhance the smooth espresso in milk hot enough to warm, yet cool enough that it can be sipped and savored immediately upon pick-up. Why I loved it: The coffee is consistently fresh and served with guaranteed quality. The teas are loose-leaf, ordered locally and brewed to order(from Market Spice). The staff friendly and interested in knowing their customers, the regulars and newbies! Cost: Average for coffee beverages($ 3-$ 4.50) and specialty pastries($ 2-$ 3 for a doughnut)

So, I know it’s pretty«easy» to make donuts — but Top Pot must make their donuts with angel tears or something. They are slightly crunchy on the outside, but super soft on the inside. The chocolate frosting tastes like gourmet chocolate. I really don’t know how they make donuts THAT much better, but they really do. I also enjoy that they support their city, and even made some changes to the names of some of their products during a time in Seattle history to support a cause. Please see the picture attached with this review. I can definitely get behind this business, and always enjoy when a co-worker brings in a dozen of these delicious morsels.

Can I just say one thing? Yaaaassss to this place for sure. I love Top Pot from the bottom of my heart. It’s not overly sweet and not too fluffy where you can’t even feel where you’re biting. Top Pot has a great balance to it and they look so pretty and well done. This top pot is the first and original top pot store. It’s where it all started, so it’s a gem to check out. I’m a huge fan of the bavarian cream donut. mmmmm. It’s very kid-friendly, I swear that this is the one place school moms go to in the morning to meet up with other moms and get coffee. haha. Anyways check it out~

Ordered a maple cake, lemon glazed old fashioned and 2 Seahawks donut holes. Get to the register, only the maple cake is in the bag? I’m the only customer in line, maybe 3 other customers in the store. Ok, get that figured out, guy helping us was replaced by someone else who completed the transaction. They weren’t worth the wait. Bummed. The lemon gaze was good, but that’s the end of the positives. Donuts were stale, or tasted stale.
