Superb service, professional staff and great ambiance — it’s really the perfect trifecta. Plus they have so many good products, including bags and jewelry — which is hard not to buy! And they always do a great job with waxing (Anna is the best)!
And I love that you can make appointments online!

I bought a Groupon for three brazilians here and was SUPER excited! The esthetician that I saw was very nice and I loved the location. Unfortunately the aftermath was what I did not enjoy.
I felt very sore the next day after my appointment and just ignored it. When I was feeling sore two days after my appointment, I thought I should take a look down below. Not only did I ALREADY have re-​growth (most likely due to the hairs being broken off during waxing — because I did NOT shave in between), but I had full on SCABS! What!!! I put some lotion on and tried to let it be and checked back the next day. It got worse! The next day everything down there was peeling. WOW. So, I called The Wax Bar and told them what had happened and asked if it was normal. Their answer? Yes! Normal. They told me to put some Neosporin on it. Is this real life?! It for sure is.
I have had brazilians done (with wax and with sugar) for many years and I have friends who are estheticians — let me tell you, this is not normal, nor should it be considered normal. I was not on any antibiotics or medications and was nowhere near my period. I’m super bummed that I will have to go back here two more times, because if it was up to me I wouldn’t be going back at all.

I was excited to find this place in our neighborhood. Got a brazillian and eyebrow wax. The person who did it was nice. The brazillian was fine, but she literally cut off the top of my eyebrows near the center so that they don’t arch anymore, but rather have a flat top. I didn’t realize it until I went to use my brow comber the next day. I have never had this happen. Feeling like the person was totally incompetent. I am so bummed and will not go here again. I don’t trust that they know what they’re doing after this hack job.

Love this place. Ok prices, clean and comfortable, great service from the front end staff and the estheticians (I see Michelle but I’m told she’s moving to a new salon soon, booo because she’s awesome), they have products you might want out front like TendSkin but there’s no automatic upsell.
These guys can do hard or soft wax which is great because I feel like hard wax has become hard to find since sugaring became popular a few years ago, but for my delicate skin nothing is as gentle as hard wax.
Also, I haven’t sampled this feature, but they do serve alcoholic drinks. There’s a menu up at the front desk if you’re interested.

I usually go to the west seattle location. I was running late, I called they were able to see me as soon as I arrived. Michelle did a great job! She is also a very friendly and personable person! highly recommend!

I feel bad leaving a negative review because the girls (both front desk and waxer, Elana) were so nice, and the place is really cute, with adorable jewelry etc for sale out front, but I am just sooooo disappointed with my eyebrows that I must. I have been growing them out for a lonnnng time, and had not touched them (except to clean up random strays) for at least 6 months. This is the ‘Cara Delavigne’ era of thick natural looking brows after all. I told the waxer that I just wanted to clean them up because it had been a while (I just moved here from SF and am always nervous to let new people mess with my face). She said she would go conservative. I didn’t think it was going to be a problem and wasn’t worried! Well say goodbye to my thick brows and hello to my thin, arched brows of 5 – 10 years ago. They are SO THIN! First of all, I never pluck them in the beginning (like going from the part closest to my nose), and she waxed off to make them start further away– ick! I have naturally thin, lighter brows so I have a hard time getting them to look full as it is, and the last thing I would ever do was thin this part out. She also significantly decreased the width all over, and the ends are barely there. This would be perfect if it was the 90’s and I wanted the thin brow look. I honestly didn’t know what to say when I saw them and was kindof in shock. I told myself maybe I just had to get use to the change and then I would like it. Well it has been a week and I still get a knot in my stomach when I think about it. It sucks because there is really nothing I can do now except let them grow out. I can only fill them in with makeup so much without it looking fake. It will honestly take at LEAST a year with how my brows grow, to get them back to what they were. And to think I paid for this. Super bummed. :(

Michelle and Jillian are both gems. They are fast, efficient, warm and friendly. Both of them provide fantastic brow and Brazilian services, and Jillian can also give you luscious lash extensions. If you live in Laurelhurst, this is the place for you :)

I come here for brazilian waxes. Michelle is so kind and makes you comfortable.
More pricey than other places I have been to, but I have had some terrible experiences — so I know it is worth it.
Clean, no double dipping in the wax. Thorough and fast job. No left over wax stuck to you. Free parking outside.
I won’t go any where else.

Fancy pantsy spot with killer customer service.
I’ve only been once, but if my first visit is any indication, the Wax Bar is a great counterpoint to the mall based spa I was going to previously for personal services.
Walked in to this small, modern shop to a friendly greeting at the front desk, and the offer of delicious chilled cucumber water (you can also buy a beer. if say, your treatment is, ahem, a little more involved and you want to feel zen before things commence.) I was then invited into a clean, pretty private room for my treatment. I was getting my eyebrows shaped and Michelle had me try a few new things: simple solutions that made a big difference.
The treatment was swift and efficient, the conversation flowed and the oils and potions and lotions used afterwards smelled absolutely fantastic. I don’t think I ever had aromatherapy at an eyebrow shaping before, but I could get used to this! At the end, she put «ice rollers» over the brows to stop any stinging and on a hot day, if felt like a sensational chilly mini-​massage. The best part: the end result looked pretty great.
Impressed with the first visit, and I ended up here after one too many just-​okay treatments at the nearby U Village spot I was going, out of sheer inertia.
This place is more expensive than my regular place, so there was a little sticker shock, but it seemed worth the upcharge, and apparently they have a weekly afternoon happy hour for brows at a significant discount. even less than my regular spot, cha ching! I love a good deal for a great service, and bonus, plus they hit customer service out of the park. I’ll be back and if they prove consistent at happy hour prices, this place could easily get my five stars!

Best leg wax I’ve had. The treatment room was very clean and actually well lit, which was awesome, because Jillian could see what she was doing and I didn’t have a bunch of patches of fur to remove myself when I got home (which has always happened at other spas). Jillian was fast, efficient, pleasant, and just plain excellent at what she does. Almost wish I hadn’t tried this place, because now I’ll have to drive up there from Tacoma every time I want a wax.

I pass this place everyday on my way to work but I only recently tried it– and I should have tried it earlier! I’ve had an express facial, age smart facial, peel, and eyebrow waxing done here. Michelle is awesome! She is very knowledgeable and it is obvious her top priority is serving the customer. It is a bit pricier than my other facial place but I prefer the products they use here (dermalogica) and I have seen more results. Their boutique is cute too and I’ve bought several items there.

My first visit (brow and upper lip wax) was great! Michelle did an amazing job cleaning up my brows and recommended some great filler.
I booked my next appointment immediately. I was literally running 5 minutes late and my appointment was cancelled :/​I understand that they’re on tight schedules but 5 minutes late on a Friday?!
I’ll probably book again but I’ll be sure to show up on time.

The newest addition to the Wax Bar sites in Seattle which landed in Laurelhurst, has become a gem around the corner for me. Working at Children’s Hospital, I have a regular discount here that allows me to indulge not only in maintenance waxing and lashing… but also in the great products that are found through the keen eye of the owner. My Brazilian waxing experience has become virtually (ok. sting) painless, whereas I used to dread this experience like the dentist, but considered it more important than clean teeth. Another service I started receiving at the Wax Bar in Laurelhurst are Eyelash Extensions. These have been amazing! I am complimented at least 3 – 4 times a day how beautiful and natural my lashes look. Jillian the esthetician who does my extensions is such a light! I enjoy the experience so much it is likened to me to going in for a meditation and coming out beautiful! No more mascara and super low maintenance and super natural. LOVE.
Everyone here is amazing! The Front desk woman in charge: Kiran is also quite lovely and I can’t resist talking to her and catching up as if she were a friend every time I show up. I am so grateful for this geographic addition to the WB!

My usual esthetician (hint, fancy Aveda salon) was getting too busy to get appointments with so I gave Wax Bar a try and I am so glad I did! Easy parking, close to home and Michelle was the best! She really knows what she’s doing ! I had the eye package and brow wax, no stinging, not even redness after. They have these yummy ice rollers that they use that really cool your skin down, I have really sensitive skin and usually have to run straight home after one of these appointments but I Left there looking somewhat normal. They have VERY cute and fun accessories as well as top of the line beauty products.

Deb was awesome. She was totally up front and honest. she suggested I come back in another week for a Brazilian Wax. It was really refreshing to just have someone that I’ve never seen, give me that kind of feed back. I had her do my brows instead. And I love them. See ya in a week Deb! You just got yourself a new client!

To make a long story short, there was a small misunderstanding about some fine print on a Groupon. I called and pitched my case (really extenuating circumstances) and shut down by the receptionist. She was friendly enough, I just wasn’t satisfied with the rationale. I requested the manager/​owner call to explain. In the end, I had a really good convo with Karen, the owner. Not only did she listen to me, but she cared what I thought and made it all right! I haven’ gotten anything waxed in a while, but if the waxing is just a fraction of the customer service (literally above and beyond!!!) I am going to be in good hands!

There is a reason I drive completely out of my way to visit this place on a monthly basis and it is JILLIAN — she is a master of her craft. I followed her here after the closing of Spa Scotta. Due to my extremely sensitive skin, I have had nightmare experiences when it comes to waxing, one even landed me in the emergency room. Jillian is quick, efficient, detail oriented and provides a comfortable experience — I wouldn’t take my «lady» to any other lady.

Fantastic. Michelle talked me through a super back facial and bikini was and recommended some very good products. Super clean and crisp décor and lots of fun stuff to buy out front. Scored some great silver earrings! Highly recommend. Facial booked again for next month!
