The Post

i didn’t get to see any of the apartments. i went to a party on a very high floor — maybe the 15^th or 19^th floor, in the party room.
a pool table, a shuffle board table, fridge, chairs, a nice view of industrial seattle, little tables, chairs, an island in the kitchen… it’s a very nice party room.

My boyfriend stayed here all week and me just one night. It was a lovely beautiful apartment. We were impressed! Clean, modern, minimally equipped with dishware, silverware, etc. Comfortable. The downsides for me were the bed. I woke up with my back hurting. Wasn’t happy. Also the shower had low water pressure, which is kind of a drag too. Longer shower, is that really efficient? Hot water though, so that was niceoverall very nice place to stay. Loved the umbrellas too to temporarily borrow. Nice touch! We’d stay there again.

We have lived at The Post for 10 months and love it here. Beyond the building views and location, the building management and concierge team has been extraordinary. I previously owned a high-​end Belltown condo and the service is much better and the team more responsive at The Post, not something I expected.
The construction is as good, the unit as soundproof (well, except my appliances were a bit nicer and the bathroom sink a bit bigger at my condo). Every time I have even thought about wanting anything, it has been taken care of. I am delighted, and will be a happy tenant as long as I need a downtown Seattle home.

This is the 4^th building in the Seattle /​Bellevue area I’ve lived in over the past 4 years. Let me say it is by far the worst.
The building manager is borderline unresponsive and unmotivated to resolve any issues that I’ve had while living here. It seems the staff here could care less to help the residents if it requires any extra effort on their behalf. I’ve been given the run around multiple times and have been required to attempt to contact them 2 to 3 times just to get a response. I’m really unsure what these people get paid for if they’re so slow to respond to resident issues.
Upon moving out, charges of an additional $ 1,200 on top of the security deposit for numerous claims were imposed — taking $ 1,800 out of pocket… You will be nickled and dimed to the max upon move out here, so expect to pay more when you leave than expected.
The only positives I can honestly say is that the front desk is helpful and friendly, the maintenance workers are very kind as well.
Do not move here, there are many better staffed and friendlier buildings in the Seattle area.

I have been the longest term tenet at The Post having moved in the day the building opened. Over the 2.5 years I have been here I have overlooked many issues, and inconveniences involved in a new building. I have always made a point to work with management of the building and even come to their defense in many cases with others that have lived here. The location is PRIME for me and I had no want or desire to ever move until recent events. I am now moving out at the end of the month due management issues and all around how they treat the «luxury» building they charge a premium for.
The issues I can no longer look past are:
1. Short term pro rated lease to interns. Don’t get me wrong interns need a place to live also, however, they treat the common areas as a dorm room. I often find myself cleaning up after them.
2. cleanliness, this goes hand in hand with the above mentioned however the lack of maintenance cleaning or taking out the trash can be rather disgusting at times.
3. promises of the «mixed use» part of the building that was to become restaurants when moving in has now become a monthly rental «storage area».
4. Management rents to a «temporary housing» company so essentially it can be used as a hotel with strangers roaming the halls, using the common areas and thrashing the place like it was a hotel. On any BIG concert or game weekend you will have a number of units being over filled by people staying downtown to party.
5. Management can not seem to keep a solid team in place with the concierge seeming to be on a 6 – 9 month rotation.
I feel that the reasons I have listed above along with the unreasonable increase in rent vs other actual luxury apartments in the area is why The Post has lost many of the original tenets. I guess retention is not a prime interest of The Post.

I lived at The Post for around a year and a half and absolutely loved my time there. The views from the waterfront apartments and rooftops are unparalleled. I never had anything but prompt, professional service from the leasing office and front desk team. Any maintenance repairs were addressed within 48 hrs. And the overall pet services are great. Also, as a single female who had to come and go a lot for work, I always felt safe and secure in the building.
My only minor complaint is with the bathroom sink sizes. What contractor thought that small of a basin would be a good idea?! Get ready to mop up water any time you use it. BUT small issue in the grand scheme of things.
Overall is it going to cost you to live here? Yes. But a luxury building with amazing views and amenities in the heart of downtown is what you get in return.

Unbeatable views. Mostly rock star front desk people (especially Eric). Average management team. Extraordinarily high rent. Condo grade construction. Rental grade (low quality) amenities (sinks, showers, flooring, etc). Concerning, almost dangerous neighborhood. Great location otherwise except neighborhood shuts down after 6. You’ll like living here as long as you’re eyes wide open on some of the realities. Generally, I think you should expect more for paying the absolute high end of rent in Seattle.

Been here 2 weeks and am in love with this place.
PROs: amazing front desk (they’re so friendly and welcoming), right by the waterfront, best apartment rooftop ever, great facilities, nice tenants, and great size apartments and layouts! love the modern feel of the apartments!
CONs: location — there isn’t a good grocery nearby, quite a bit of homeless people outside at night even though they’ve been harmless so far

I’m not one to make bad reviews but this place made me so upset, I thought I should share my experience.
Everything was okay (okay, not great just livable) up until we had to move. Reserved the service elevator a month in advance so we can use it to move but they double booked it couldn’t use it until the couple gave it up two hours later, since they got a hold on it first. Strike one. Another elevator was broken so there was only one elevator servicing all floors, which took forever and when the elevator is filled with people, our movers had to wait until the elevator was empty. Strike two.
The third strike is with the management. When we went to complain about how their mistake cost us more money with hour overage with the movers, one of the employees asked us why didn’t we we use the other elevators? First off, they should have known one elevator is broken, and the other one is locked for moving. Second, we shouldn’t be using the elevator that is servicing all the other floors when we reserved a time frame with the service elevator to move! After this was explained, she had the nerve to ask if we ever made a mistake before. SERIOUSLY? So unprofessional and rude. Moving is already stressful enough but she really knew how to add more fire to the flame. Then she proceeded to ask what do we want from this? She couldn’t even apologize!
Because of their «mistake» we had to pay hour overages and our time frame to move at the new apartment expired (their reservations for using the service elevator was booked). So we had to put our things in temporary storage. We paid overages for nothing because the movers couldn’t even move our things into our apartment!
Since the lowest we can give is one star, the star is for the rooftop view of the waterfront. It’s also for the concierge desk because that group is nice and friendly unlike the management. Besides, all the amenities the apartment itself is a joke. You can tell they put more money into the amenities and you pay for it too.
Do yourself a favor and look at other apartments before settling for this one. It looks cool at first but looks can be deceiving.

I live here for 13 months and decided to wait until everything was settled before I gave my review. I’m glad that I waited.
The building opened in December 2012 and is quite amazing. Other reviewers have already commented on the quality of the building and the décor, so I’m not going to elaborate on that. As far as design and build is concerned, I’ve never been happier in a rental unit.
The staff is good although a bit high strung. They could benefit from relaxing a bit. I never had any problems with the management during my stay, but several residents I knew complained on the regular. No problems for me here.
Now for the bad points and why I gave it a ³⁄₅.
The location was pretty awful for me. You’re paying top dollar to live in an area that essentially becomes a ghost town at 7PM. This is because it’s essentially in the «Financial District», which is bustling by day and dead at night.
I always found myself going to other neighborhoods for food and bars because what is around just isn’t good enough, is too pricey, or is closed. Usually the closed part wasn’t even a factor because what IS around here isn’t worth subsequent visits, aside from drinks at Boka. On top of that, the buses are on 4^th ave which means climbing up one of the steepest hills in Seattle in order to catch them.
My qualms with the location are my own. Other people loved the location. They lose a star on the review for the ghost town location.
The management is brutal when it comes to getting your deposit back. This is a sentiment expressed by other residents who moved out. I left my apartment spotless and they only returned about 5% of my deposit. On there were charges for things like $ 9 for light bulbs, which are free to replace when you live there anyway. So they are nickle-​and-​diming you in order to get back whatever they can.
I wondered why I had bothered cleaning the place at all if the management was going to treat me like that. If they had said, «Ok, don’t bother cleaning. We’ll just charge you up the a** for a cleaning crew,» then it would have been different because they would at least have been honest. They lost another star on my review for the deposit return percentage.
TL;DR
Loved the building, disliked the location, disliked how management handled the move out.

This is a great property with quite possibly the most dynamic and functional rooftop in all of Seattle. While the nightlife and very nearby eateries are a bit lacking, it’s curb appeal and aesthetics certainly make up for it. The rooftop is excellent for having a few friends over and enjoying the beauty of Puget Sound.

The post property management is a joke. Brandy the manager is horrible which is why everything is always messed up and involved in disorganization and lies. The building is beautiful so it’s a shame she ruins it. But she isn’t alone. Her mini me Lynette is a condescending twerp… Puppeted by Brandy … So not surprised. Worst decision on a place to live EVER! But again the building was amazing and the great people I met there made it worth it. Oh and if you have a pet beware of the claim they are pet friendly… They are only allowed on the dog run and your apartment. Another Lie courtesy of Brandy. The lease says nothing of the sort but she claims «she can change the rules anytime.» Which I know is in all leases but those of us with pets need to know what «pet friendly» means. Many other residents have complained about the poor craftsmanship of the building from air conditioners that leak or break or blinds that I had to have fixed close to every week, pink leaking ooze from the cement columns… For what we pay to live there it’s astonishing. I had a leaking bathroom on and off for 2 months. So that is why I left after five months into my lease. The people running the show are a joke, no sorry it’s just Brandy. Everyone else was honest and tool care of things quickly. It does bring up the question of why the staff there has such a high turnover??? I wouldn’t work for her. While we were waiting for a solution to the bathroom fiasco, she brought in a Maintenence employee and yelled at him. Unprofessional. Glad I’m gone. But I do miss my neighbors and the view.

We have lived here for a little over two months now, and I must be honest. This place is fantastic!!! It is a brand new building, so the whole place has that wonderful new building smell and is spotless. The size of the room couldn’t be more perfect for us, and that view… You never get tired of it. The sunsets that you get a front row seat for, either from your room or from the snazzy rooftop lounge, leave you breathless every night. I can never hear my neighbors, and I don’t think they can hear us at all either. Which is important because my husband is a professional musician and must practice in the apartment at times. The gym is phenomenal complete with top of the line equipment, full yoga room, and once again, a fabulous view! Lastly, while we do not have a dog, (yet) the dog run seems perfect, and dogs that get to play with each other out there look quite happy!
Compared to many similarly priced apartments in the area, with its central location to everything we need, the breathtaking views, and spacious one bedrooms, The Post is a clear winner! No complaints.
Also… Top Pot Doughnuts will be opening a new store right above the lobby of The Post!!! Holy awesomeness!!!

I’ve lived here about a month now and so far so good. I’ll openly admit it’s not perfect, but few things rarely are. The key difference here is that the entire staff actually cares and makes an effort. I’ve dealt with a fair number of leasing people in the last 10 years and the staff at the Post is head and shoulders above the rest.
The apartments are nice, a little expensive perhaps until you factor in location and the amenities and views. The apartments have AC to boot. The prices are similar to other new complexes in Seattle (e.g. Stream Uptown and The Lyric) just in a place that justifies the cost.
There’s two lounges, a nice gym, a desk, a yoga room (with weekly Yoga classes), a media room, and a dog run area. All very nice to hang out in, watch the ferries come in to dock from and just enjoy.
So what’s not perfect? Well I’d say the kitchens are a little small, especially for the 2 bedroom units. Not a huge issue but there’s a lack of storage and counter space. I’d say a lack of storage space in general would be an issue. It’s not a huge problem but I just wish there was like 10−15% more storage space.
Another issue would be with some of the other tenants and them not following community rules. This seems to be improving though. The only other complaint I could leverage is also kind of a positive. In the immediate area (5min walking) there’s not a tremendous amount to do eating or shopping wise. However, if you expand your walk to a mile/​20min then you have a huge amount of options. All of pioneer square, pike place market, etc.

In short I’m very happy here. Any issue I’ve had so far has been addressed promptly and courteously. I’ll come up with solutions for the storage space and hopefully the complex can deal with the tenants.
Remarking about one of the other reviews, I will note that they’re very busy, in 3 months they’ve managed to fill up about 50% of the units so the staff is likely a bit over extended for the moment. I had some delays in some paperwork but they were certainly nice about it. Give them a little patience if something doesn’t get done immediately. You may have to follow up with them on something but in general they’re on top of their stuff and it is certainly better if you can go down and talk to them directly.

Great view from the corporate apartment my husband had for a week, and I loved the amenities up on floor R1 (game room, media room, big function rooms, etc.) It would have been nice if the corporate apartment had come with dishwashing liquid, but ah well, getting a bottle of that only cost $ 2 at Uwajimaya.

Pros: Brand new building, with great amenities, friendly residents, and good location. Several of the concierges are SUPER nice. The residents are WAY friendlier than other places in Seattle (many transplants, but also a lot of building activities to help people meet each other). Maintenance guy, John, is really nice.
Cons: Staff is new; systems are new, and there are A LOT of kinks to work out. Expect to submit your paperwork 3 times (and follow up twice after submitting it three times). Strongly recommend you just make your own packet and bring it with… there’s high office turnover, and the right hand doesn’t know what the left is doing. I assume they’ll figure that out… in the mean time don’t expect much.
In my one month in the building I’ve been charged incorrectly twice. Yup. I’ve paid rent once (one month free rent), and had to have them change the fees twice based on the clearly outlined payment requirements. They got the calculated «one month free» lease price wrong… seriously?! AND got the price for the second month wrong too. Whoa. Let’s hope they find which moving box they stashed the calculator in by the third month.
Word to the wise; make sure you look at your bills. Make sure you follow up with them to correct the inevitable errors. If they’ve told you they’re doing work in your unit; assume they’ve forgotten (They have forgotten. I can guarantee it. But it wasn’t personal). They’re moving a lot of people in and are a little bit disoriented accordingly. The only way your issue will get fixed is to stay on top of it and follow up. Squeaky wheel and all.
Perhaps the kinks will get worked out soon… I’m moderately hopeful :)

The staff and facilities are very fresh & young, the view is amazing, the amenities numerous.
The price point is high for resort style living in the downtown corridor/​Pioneer Square hood. This is in comparison to similar city spots with more square footage, per my research.
Going for a full sell tour with a friend soon, will update post-​visit.
