Anti-Established in 2003, The Counter is the 21st century’s bold answer to the classic burger joint. Ushering in a fresh era of industrial décor, today’s music, cold beer, unique wines, cocktails, and burger options that are only limited by your imagination.

Business Owner
We opened The Counter on September 21, 2009, after a two-year wait for the Ballard Blocks to be built. We really wanted to open in Ballard because we think it’s such a special community of Seattle, and even though this building isn’t the funky, old Ballard that is so loved, it really does match the aesthetic of Ballard. The building is LEED certified (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, i.e., a green building). Wood in our restaurant is FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified, and paints and adhesives are low VOC (volatile organic compounds). Oil is recycled and made into biodiesel. Cardboard, glass and plastic are recycled. We are so proud of the high quality this creates for our dining experience. Drew has spent his life in construction, which makes us all the more ready to be proud of our green business.
We love being part of this young franchise. We like the concept of being a little rebellious while providing great service and food. We look forward to serving you!
