The Confectional

Is there such thing as a good tasting healthy cookie? I tried a oatmeal raisin cookie that is sugar and gluten free from this place. While not as sweet as a regular cookie, it tasted really good, almost as good as the real deal. Now the texture of the cookie was a little different, kind of hard to describe. This may be due to no sugar and gluten. The cost was $ 4.75, on the high side. So 4 stars instead of 5 due to high price.

I first heard about The Confectional on the Food Network Channel on Top 5 Restaurants for the Quadruple Chocolate Cheesecake. They sell their cheesecakes in mini hand held size, which I really like. I always said if and when I come to Seattle I wanted to try them. Well I ended up coming to Seattle and did the Chocolate Indulgence Tour with my husband. The Confectional was one of the stops on the tour.
As I learned some of the information on the Food Network, it was interesting to learn a little more about the founder and owner and how he came to start making cheesecakes. Believe it or not he started out with sweets because as a child he was not allowed to eat sweets unless he made them himself. So over the years he practiced and his sweets turned into what they are now. He has gained world recognition from famous people on his cheesecakes.
During the tour we tried their drinking chocolate and 2 cheesecakes (Quadruple Chocolate Cheesecake and the Key Lime Pie Cheesecake). The drinking chocolate was interesting. I added a splash of cayenne pepper to mine. They are supposed to be known for this drinking chocolate but to me it was just ok. It was heavy on either clove or nutmeg, but the cayenne added a nice twist to it. As I stated earlier I saw the Quadruple Chocolate Cheesecake on the Food Network so it was nice to be able to try it. It was actually pretty good. It had chucks of white chocolate I think on the inside of the cheesecake. It was a nice combination and I liked the crunch it added. I’m not a key lime pie fan so this cheesecake wasn’t as good to me. It tasted just like key lime pie. This was more of a personal preference than anything. If you like key lime pie you will enjoy it.
Overall, he has some good cheesecakes. The texture is smooth and creamy, and they taste pretty good. It honestly comes down to personal preference and what flavors and combinations you like. Definitely worth a try.

Look, the cheescake is good, honestly real good, but good lord is it over priced. In no world can I dignify 6 dollars for that small a cheescake bite, I can get a full sized slice for a dollar more at a restraunt.
Also every time I have gone here, the server has treated me terrible, was rude and dissmisive.

This was the perfect place for a little treat! It made my sweet tooth very happy, but came in a small package so I didn’t have to feel too guilty!
I opted for one of the chocolate-​dipped cheesecake pops because they were: 1. Small 2. Covered in chocolate 3. Didn’t involve a thick crust. I asked what flavor was mostly popular since I was having a hard time decided and the lady at the counter said it was absolutely the caramel. I went with it and it certainly was a good suggestion! The sweetness of the caramel was perfect with the tang of cheese and butter dark chocolate. Also, it had the most amazing crust! It was thin, on the chunky-​crunchy side and very sugary! I would definitely visit again!

Just tried a shot of the hot chocolate, and WOW it was incredible! Definitely super super strong. Unless you are a die hard chocolate lover, a shot of the European style drinking chocolate is all you need. Fantastic flavor.

Yes PLEASE.. We ran across this tiny shop while at pikes street market. I had the Lemon white chocolate cheesecake.. It was tart and delicious creamy and velvety.. The best part was they are all little individual portions so, I got to eat the whole thing myself

Really, really, really good cute little cheesecakes. $ 5.25 is a bit costly for a small cheesecake but it was super good. I will most likely get another, next time I’m near by.

I wanted to just walk past this quant little shop, but I couldn’t help the beautiful display and blissful smell of the goodies this place had in store. The line was short, which is probably a departure from the norm in Pikes Place, so I decided to give this place a try. Plus, everything in the display case looked manageable for for just a taste; after all, there were many, many other place to still try. When I peered into the display case, I was overcame with sensory overload. I thought selecting a cheesecake would have been an easy task since I was going to just walk quickly past the little shop in the first place; boy, was I wrong! I wanted to try everything. Again, they were small, and I probably could have tried them all in one sitting. I had to remind myself that there were other great places offering similarly delicious bites to be had. I opted for the salted caramel cheesecake – I just noticed that salted caramel has been a trend for my pallet and with a lot of places I have been to lately! One bite and I was in heaven. Delicious! Not too sweet and not too heavy, which can often plague most cheesecakes. This was perfect in my book and one of the better cheesecakes I have had. I can’t wait to return!

Since I’ve been craving cheesecakes, when I saw a little line outside this little stand in Pike Place, I decided to give it a shot. I ordered a mini Seattle’s NY Cheesecake and ate it when I got back to my hotel.
I thought the texture was nice and moist and definitely different from other cheesecakes I have had, so I’ll give them points for that, but I really wasn’t digging the lemon flavor of the cheesecake. I’ve never had NY Cheesecake with lemon flavoring and I am not a big lemon fan, so this just wasn’t a good cheesecake for me.

I love cheesecake. I love cheese. It was my second time trying out these goodies while in Seattle and I just couldn’t walk away without trying a flavor I haven’t tried before. They’re the perfect size and the perfect dessert after a meal. My favorite is the raspberry white chocolate, but I decided to try the mochaccino since I haven’t tried it before. It was definitely sweeter, but the crust does even out the taste. The mochaccino came sweet, rich, and creamy. Can’t wait till I visit again to taste another piece of heaven.

Forgive me father, for I am about to sin! And sin, I sure did! The Confectional is without a doubt, the best cheesecake bakery I have ever had! Step aside Junior’s (NYC) and Cheesecake Factory (LA), fame and notoriety and oversize portions ain’t gonna cut it here.
I gotta admit that this bakery was recommended to me several times, but, I kinda ignore the recommended them. If your not paying attention, you’ll walk by the bakery. It’s a small store front and a beautifull little display case of all the cheesecake choices on the menu.
Guys, if you’re looking for a big hunk of a slice of cheesecake like you would receive at say, Cheesecake Factory, think again. The cute little 3oz personal bite size serving too me by surprise. But, have no fear! This little pack a mean wallop of a punch to those taste buds.
So, I decide to sample the Black Cherry Double Chocolate Coconut cheesecake. Boy, oh boy! I was in for a delicious surprise. Mascerated black cherries were snuggled deep within the dense double chocolate cheesecake batter. And, guess what folks!!! Real Graham Cracker crumb crust, now tell me! When was the last time you had a Graham Cracker crust on a cheesecake? Tell me, huh!!!
When I rave about something, I totally keep it real with you. The flavours from The Confectional cheesecake taste authentically homemade. You will not be disappointed!

Let me just say that if you are feeling cheesecake-​deprived, despair not, for there is hope for you here at The Confectional. A Pike Market MUST DO! Yes, do the touristy things and walk through Pike Market, then watch the guys in the seafood area throw fish; grab a few samples of gourmet food, perhaps even a bite to eat. Then go across the street to The Confectional and have a dessert like no other.
Confectional is a shop in Pike’s Place where they offer over 12 unique cheesecake flavors in individual portions. When you walk in you can smell the cakes because they cook them on site. The cheesecake I purchased was so smooth and creamy, chocolaty and cheesy and just melted on the tongue. If you wanted a different texture you could peel back the wrapping and eat the crispy crust.
The owner, Paul Verano initiated «The Confectional» in New Zealand in early 2000’s. After he moved back to the states, Paul was thrilled to start baking his cheesecake sensations in the city he loves, which was beautiful Seattle. He applied for a popular spot in the heart of Pike Place Market and teamed up with his best friend Destiny Sund, who had the same mutual passion for dessert and deprived, sugarless childhoods. Paul and Destiny teamed up together to open to the public in December 2006 in Pike Place Market and eventually opened up their 2^nd cheesecake galore shop on vibrant Capitol Hill in June 2011.
Yes, this means that cheesecake lovers can mix and match cheesecake flavor bombs, from Raspberry White Chocolate to Seattle’s New York Style. The cheesecakes are all-​natural, made by hand and finished with their buttery crunchy thick crusts and topped with a signature sweet sour cream.
I love when sweet shops offer smaller sized treats for people who want just a taste of their goods. The Confectional has superb cheesecake that is so good; you really do need only two or three bites. The second is just as good as the first, and the third triggers the «I’m glad there’s no more of this because I’d make myself sick eating the whole thing» reflex.
I would definitely recommend that you swing by Confectional every time you are at Pike’s Place market and are in the mood for a truly delicious confection.
I think next they need to expand so you can actually sit down and enjoy your cheesecake fresh out of the case.

I was in Seattle for a business trip and my local friend recommended I try this place that is located at Pike’s Place. I was surprised to find out they only sold mini cheesecakes. I was thinking to myself, how good can this cheesecake really be. I was really wrong! I ordered the raspberry white chocolate and was literally blown away with how good it was. Move over Cheesecake Factory, there is a new King in town.

Eat them right away! I got them to go and they didnt taste that fresh :(even though i put them in the fridge
Nice cheesecake in a cup so easier to eat and not too painful portion wise… i really like the dip which was essentially cheesecake dipped in chocolate!
Seattle cheesecake was great… not too sweet and fele very light not too heavy!
Chocolate one was just ok
Red velvet and pumpkin spice dips were good as well

The Confectional is mini cheesecake heaven! I absolutely love cheesecake, it’s my favorite dessert so upon planning places to go and eat during my trip I had to check for a cheesecake spot and boom this place was the first to come up.
This a small shop directly across the street from Pike Place and it can not be missed, you see the nice cute sign and of course the glass case of delightful cheesecakes. I kind of expected more of an actual store but it is a store front and waiting in line on the sidewalk can be a little frustrating with all the people walking and trying to look and jump in front of you.
The menu is short and straight to the point, there are 11 cheesecake flavors along with a seasonal flavor and they also have cheesecake truffles to choose from in about 2 – 3 flavors. The individual cheesecakes aren’t cheap, they will run you about $ 4.75 per cheesecake and while they do have 2, 4, 6, 9 and 16 pack options there really isn’t a discount if you buy those. Don’t let the price deter you because you are paying for the quality and they are just that good trust me. We decided to get a 4-​pack for $ 17 with the following flavors: Caramel (2), Lemon White Chocolate and Seattle’s Best New York-​Style.
Caramel: I loved the Caramel cheesecake, it was super creamy and velvety and had a really nice caramel flavor throughout the entire cheesecake. It wasn’t overly sweet like some cheesecakes can be, it was just right. The sour cream and pecan on top was a nice touch and gave it a southern look and the graham cracker crust was solid and did not crumble when digging into it which i liked.
Seattle’s Best New York-​Style: I was a bit disappointed with this one as I am with a lot of New York Style cheesecakes. While the taste was very good and had a nice flavor, it was a bit too firm and dry for me. It was hard trying to get a fork through it and through the very hard crust. It didn’t have the creaminess that I was expecting and I’m sure if it did it would have been delightful.
I did try the Lemon White Chocolate but according to my father it was «da bomb», he said it had a really good lemon flavor without being overpowering and it was really creamy as well. I sure do wish I would’ve brought some of these delightful cheesecakes home because they were good and I would’ve loved to try some of their other flavors as well. If you are a lover of cheesecake and have the time while in the area please do yourself a favor and try them out, I guarantee you will fall in love.

I LOVE cheesecake, and probably order it for dessert 90% of the time. But the cheesecake at the Confectional is on another level. I have only been to Seattle three times, but I make it a point to get cheesecake from here every time. It is the perfect size, not too big, not too small. Perfect density and texture– not too soft, not too firm. Not overly sweet. The flavors are perfect and come through with every bite, and the crust– sublime. And you can’t beat the price! A perfect slice of cheesecake for $ 4.75?! I actually regretted not buying 2 or 3 slices, but I probably would have eaten them all at once, and that wouldn’t have been good.
This time, I got the lemon white chocolate cheesecake, and I seriously dreamt about it that night. Do yourself a favor, and don’t pass up the Confectional.

Been walking by this place for a while now and never stopped by to check out their selections. Its located in Pike Place Market. I decided to get a few mini-​cheesecakes to take home. Nice amount of selections to choose from and they all look just so tasty!
I decided on the mini kahlua white chocolate cheesecake and the mini lemon cheesecake. Both were very delicious and not overly sweet. Its nicely made, perfect amount of cheesecake texture and great flavor. Lemon flavor was very good!
Staff was real nice in explaining the different kinds and also showing you what else they have as well. A little on the pricey side but its not a deal breaker for me to not come back.

The serving looks tiny, but the cheesecakes are so dense and rich, a few bites are enough.
Came early on Friday and there was no line. We tried the raspberry cheesecake and the Mexican Chocolate.
The Mexican Chocolate was labeled Hot and Spicy, but I didn’t get much heat. Very chocolaty though.
Overall, a nice treat to try if you’re int he area. I see that they have an online site and can ship nationwide if you really really love it enough to drop $ 73.05 on shipping and $ 63 and some change on the cheesecake.

The Confectional is a small little shop that features mini cheesecakes. You can find this nestled in with the other shops in Pike Place Market. Although there are a ton of things to eat and try at Pike Place, this is one place that should be on the top of your list if you’re a cheesecake lover. We’re not talking the lame cheesecakes you see in the dessert section at buffets nor are we talking about the cheesecakes from the Cheesecake Factory. No, these are something extraordinarily different.
You can buy one, two, four as many as you want! They’ll have a perfect size box for you to take with you. The more you buy the cheaper each one gets. They have samples for you to try and you should definitely take one. During my first visit here I got a sample of the Kahlua White Chocolate cheesecake and I internally melted in deep love within seconds. It’s also the one I bought and took home with me!
Kahlua White Chocolate — This little treat is heavenly. Although it’s a mini cheesecake there is a lot of cheesecake in there. The cheesecake is so luscious, creamy and it’s not so sugary that you have to stop. The top has a coffee flavor swirl that is so light but adds so much flavor to each bite. The crust is on the chocolate side and is crumbly and adds this wonderful texture as you take each forkful. This one is a definite must have.
Quadruple Chocolate — They aren’t lying when they say quadruple chocolate. This little but incredibly indulgent dessert has chocolate cheesecake, chocolate crust and bits of milk chocolate and white chocolate running within the entire cheesecake. It’s chocolate gone crazy. This one I will say is much richer than the other and you can feel it in your stomach. Thankfully if you share it it’s the perfect amount before you feel like you have to stop. It’s also equally creamy, luscious and melt in your mouth. The chocolate bits add some texture to the bite but they also boost the chocolatey flavor. There is some regular cheesecake on the top to help cut back from the chocolate overload. But trust me, this thing may be small but it can roar chocolate. Chocolate lovers, have at it.
The lady in the front was very kind and friendly. She takes any questions and will let you know what is inside each cheesecake. We bought these two desserts for 9.50 exact. I would say it’s a fair price for something so delicious and well made.
This has to be the best cheesecake I’ve had yet. When I’m craving cheesecake, I know where I’ll be.
