The Color Group

Fantastic customer service, knowledgeable staff, and all around great prints. I am very picky about print quality, and they nailed it for over 20 images! They made adjustments from the proofs with me there, and I could see how competent the staff was.
They also have very competitive pricing and turnaround on high-​end digital prints. I can’t recommend them enough!

I’ve been working with this foundry for a few years and they do such amazing work. As an artist, I want my Giclèes to match as closely to my originals as possible. They understand this and have consistently gone above and beyond.
I’ve come in with two different scenarios; 1) One with an existing digital file that a professional photographer took of my (rather large scale) work. 2) I’ve also come in with smaller pieces that they have drum scanned in-​house. In both cases, they have kept the original for a few days while they tested the color accuracy of the digital files. I’m always so pleased when I see the end result. It’s very hard to tell the difference unless one knows what to look for!
They have a variety of materials to choose from. Canvases are great for oil and acrylic paintings, but I tend to work in chalk pastel a lot. They have many different high quality, gallery grade papers to print on, some of which match quite closely in tooth to the Cansons I typically use for my originals.
Don’t think that all they do are art prints. (Though they do a stellar job at that!) I’ve walked into their space while they’ve been working on large acrylic backed banners, signage, and business cards. Some very cool projects. These guys have the chops. And they’re so close to the stadiums downtown, that it makes them pretty easy to find. Give them a shot!

I needed a small run of 16“x20″ archival ink jet prints done within a few days.
The Color Group gave me the most competitive price for this area, and my final prints were well worth what they cost. The prints I made were of line art, and they made a test print before running them for me to check sharpness.
The final prints look great: sharp, clean, and with great print resolution. They were packed up for me with extreme care, which I appreciate. Kevin, Eric, Nancy and Lindsey were all efficient and incredibly helpful.

Through my usual combination of indigence mixed with perfectionism, I found myself with a tight deadline for a limited edition giclée print for an upcoming event. I dashed off an e-​mail to The Color Group on Saturday, thinking I might hear from them on Monday. Two hours later I was looking at an estimate. I sent the job in on Monday, on Tuesday I looked at hard copy proofs with two different paper options, on Thursday the prints were done and on Friday I picked up the absolutely stunning final product.
The color was just what I was looking for, the matte varnish provided a great vintage feel and the detail leapt off the page. Flawless.
BTW as a former Art Director, I really appreciate hard proofs – I don’t think soft proofs tell you much about the final printing. And you always know when you’re working with someone who cares about the work as much as you do.
Before I worked with them, I read the Unilocal reviews and thought that some of the praise seemed a little excessive. It isn’t. I can happily add my own cheers to the chorus.

I needed a high resolution drum scan of the illustration I created for the next wine label for Mason Cellars Vineyards. It will be printed on hundreds of thousands of labels and distributed across the United States, so the quality had to be exceptional. These guys were not only extremely professional, but they were fast and cost effective too. I got the scan within 24 hours and had the opportunity for on site color corrections. I’m definitely working with them again in the future and highly recommend them!

These guys are amazing. It’s always a pleasure working with people who love what they do and are willing to go the extra mile to make a customer happy. We had a photo printed on canvas and needed it mounted to a large board that I provided. I also needed to have it slightly wrapped around the edge of the board. Rather than telling me that’s not how they work, they spent time scratching their heads on how to get the job done. The result was better than expected. Thanks guys.

I’ve gotta say, The Color Group saved the day with my family’s 50^th anniversary gift for my parents. I had a horrible, horrible experience with Bellevue Fine Art and The Color Group helped me right away, had no hidden fees or minimum charges, worked with me one on one while I waited for my giclee prints and made me feel like a valued customer. Not only do they have exceptional customer service, their quality is remarkable in every way. I was blown away at comparing their work to Bellevue Fine Art’s attempt. They improved the image quality (without guidance) and the results are clear as night and day. I didn’t have a huge job, but I was treated with respect. I’ve been in the graphic design industry 15+ years as a professional designer, and working with TCG was exactly what I expected, and more. Don’t waste your time or money anywhere else. I will recommend TCG to my friends and coworkers. OH, and their studio is great. Very clean and professional with a beautiful gallery of photography. Highly recommended.

Top notch in every way. I’ve been coming here for prints of my art pieces, and they’ve been great. The prints are fabulous, every time. They’re extremely friendly and if one doesn’t know what option to pick (I didn’t at first) they help guide you to the best option.

I just went to pick up my poster print at The Color Group, and let me just say something. It was perfect. I see you’re not understanding me. Perfect. Absolutely 0 flaws. 918 square inches, an infinite number of opportunities to mess up with scratches, dings, air bubbles, uneven cuts, rough edges, roughed surface, compression, impressions, fingerprints etc., but they did not do any of that even once.
If you’re serious about what you’re printing, don’t accept a substitute. These guys are serious professionals and know exactly what they’re doing.

There’s a reason they’re 5-​stars solid. Just a top-​notch company.
I’ve used them several times and been very happy with them, but was compelled to write the review after this last time. I had a design for some new cards and asked if they could squeeze me in for a last minute event. No problem — they proofed the print, and was ready to go. All of a sudden, I had a new design that I wanted to use — was it possible to switch out the old design for the new one, even as they were ready to print? No problem. They got them done with time to spare, and for an unbelievably reasonable price I might add.
I will probably never go to another place — just always call Lindsey.

The Color Group is seriously as good as it gets. I’ve had both personal work printed through them as well as prints made for the company I work for and the turn around time on projects is faster than any place I’ve had prints done before. The first project I had involved scanning a very large piece of artwork and making prints from it and the prints came out looking almost better than the original painting. Nancy and Lindsey are so easy to work with and will show you all of your options and help you find one that works with your budget. They have even turned around print jobs for me on the same day I called in to have more prints made. You can really tell customer service is a top priority for them and because of it I’ll never take any print jobs anywhere else!

I get my giclee prints done here. Really quick turnaround on orders, always friendly. Errors with orders are few, far-​between, and always made up for.

The Color Group is fantastic, you can’t do better in Seattle.
When I first arrived in Seattle I checked out many places but The Color Group offered the best prices for the offset printing I wanted. And they have continually delivered such a beautiful products (both offset and giclée printing) that my customers are always surprised to hear that they aren’t looking at my original watercolors.
Nancy has been long suffering and patient beyond measure in offering estimates for various projects. And the staff is great, really willing to talk out a project and see what the best options are for printing, binding, and whatever else might be needed. When I started doing trade shows, for some reason it didn’t at first occur to me to ask them about banners, I guess since I associated them with my paper and art products. I got some estimates and samples from supposedly affordable and fast services and was absolutely horrified by the dreadful quality and the exorbitant prices. I think I decided to ask The Color Group if they knew of anyone who printed cloth banners. And it turns out: they did! So I got a gorgeous canvas banner more beautifully printed than any sample from the supposedly fast-​cheap places and for almost half the cost.
You just can’t loose with The Color Group.

Can I even express how much I adore these folks?

As a brand new artist here in Seattle, facing down the barrel of my very first gallery show consisting of a dozen or so 3′ x 4′ canvases, I needed all the assistance I could get.
The small family of people at The Color Group were not only incredibly personable, but they were remarkably willing to work with my last-​minute printing requests and budget constraints, and I can honestly say I never would’ve gotten the show mounted without their help.

I am a local artist and for my very first art show last July, I walked into The Color Group and was greeted by Lindsey who walked me through color paper options, canvas options, etc. I knew that they would never lead me astray. Well, nearly a year and 12 art shows later, they are my printer of choice for giclee’ prints. Whether it’s my usual 5×7 illustrations or 24×30 inch work for out of state shows, they are the best! Kevin is a dream to work with and makes sure your digital output is perfect before going to print. They really know their stuff here and they are personable. I go to them for all of my giclee’ art needs and will refer many more to them.

I worked with The Color Group recently on my first large order of books. Even though it was a small order for them, I’m sure, they never made it feel that way — they were great with my many questions, patient with technical issues, and really quick to boot. Furthermore, their quote was a good 20 percent less than the other three I got from other local printing companies.
Highly recommended — I worked with several people there, and they were all unfailingly helpful, polite, and friendly.

The Color Group has outstanding service!
I’ve printed a few jobs with them now, and each time they surprise me with the extra mile that they go. For one of the jobs I didn’t know how to fix something in Adobe Illustrator, so they asked me to come in. When I came in to the office, they showed me a few tricks on how to fix the it, and then updated the file for me on the spot with no charge. They always take the time to make sure the output is exactly the way you want.
They work through email so it’s easy to go back and forth on updating files. Their staff is always friendly and pleasant. Print jobs seem to turnover very quickly — they always meet the date they say they will.
I would highly recommend The Color Group to anyone who is looking for a professional print service. After experiencing their service and product, I’m a bit sad that I don’t have more projects to get professionally printed!

The Color Group is amazing.
I initially contacted them to do my wedding save the dates — vintage postcard on one side, text on the other. I contacted four companies, and The Color Group got back to me fast with a totally reasonable estimate (unlike another highly recommended printer on here which shall remain nameless). Then they did a totally spectacular job, and SUPER FAST! Since they were so awesome, I asked if they could then do the SECOND part of my save the dates, which involved a photo. They were nervous to do the photo because — and this is the truth — they were afraid it would cost me too much! Instead of using photo paper, however, they printed it on glossy cardstock and it looks amazing! I’d recommend these guys to anyone. Super small company that actually cares AND does a good job — three cheers for The Color Group!
